July Challenge Participants

July 31st, 2008 by Diane

Take a look at these wonderful pages that were made by scrappers who were eager to share their talents and take a crack at winning a gift certificate to Heather’s store.

(Had to delete the other pages as they were connecting to PPF’s gallery and it’s closed now.  I’m sorry!)

Heather, myself and the other CT members will take a few days and pick a winner.  Make sure you keep an eye out for the August challenge.  I think it’ll be lots of fun and a good focus on titles. (hint, hint)

Heather’s Layouts

July 18th, 2008 by Heather Manning

I went to check my ArtsCow account yesterday because I knew that 2 of my free photo books was expiring soon.  Turned out they were expiring yesterday.  I had 27 layouts ready to go that hadn’t been in a book yet.  I needed 3 more because they give you 30 free pages.  So, I hurried up and made 3 layouts, the cover, spine, and back.  The cover is so simple.  I just took a piece of the same paper for all 3.  Wrote my layouts vol 1.  ROFL  and put 2008 on the spine.  The layouts didn’t have any rhyme or reason to them.  Not all were of the kids – some were of Pato, some were of myself.  That’s why I called it that.  I know, I’m so imaginative.  Hey, where your on a time limit.  LOL

There’s Jordan at the 4th of July parade.  He is just growing up so much.  I used Baby Got Back, Old Edges 2, Just Bag It – Journaling papers (which are free in the store), the yellow glitter is from Li’l Tart, the silver glitter is from Flashy New Year.

These are the best pictures I actually got of my kids at the parade.  It was so sunny.  No one wanted to look at me.  Oh well.  It’s a memory.  ROFL  I used everything from my Some Gave All kit, Some Gave All – Add on (still free on my CT blog), and Some Gave All – Alpha (which you still have time to get on the CT blog for doing this month’s challenge.)  I also used my Old Edges 2 here.

And the last one.  Miss Katiana wrinkling up here nose at the parade.  LOL  I used Berry-Licious and Old Edges on this one.

Really quick on the ArtsCow if you sign up now you get 400 free prints and a free photo book with 30 pages.  (Plus, referring your friends gets you LOTS of other awesome stuff for free!)  Shipping is kind of high as it’s coming from Hong Kong I’ve heard, but I got 1 – 30 page photo book, 50 4X6’s, 50 5X7’s, and a watch with Pato and my picture in it for $28.  That was the shipping.  So compared to what I’ve paid at Shutterfly for one book, that wasn’t bad to me.  And I’ve heard the shipping doesn’t take long.  I’ve also read really good things about the quality of their prints.  I’ll review it when I get my stuff.  :o )

Now back to letting my CT have control of the blog!  LOL

A New Alpha with an old feel

July 15th, 2008 by Diane

Check out the newest alpha that Heather has created.  It’s called Old Keys.  It’s got the hot new button look with the old typewritter feel to it.

You can pick it up at Heather’s store today.  And while you’re there, don’t forget to check out the July CT challenge.  It’s your chance to win a $10 or $20 GC to the store.

Let’s Connect Fix

July 9th, 2008 by Heather Manning

It was brought to my attention that there was a slight white outline on the bows of my part of the collab.  I wanted to make sure that anyone who bought this kit has the perfect bows.  So, here is the 4shared link to grab them.  In the zip you will find a coupon to thank you for your patience!

Download bows here

Thanks again and I’m sorry there was an error!

Some Gave All – Free Add On

July 3rd, 2008 by Heather Manning

Some of you have seen my new kit, Some Gave All – and have heard that there would be a free add on!  It isn’t on the PPF blog yet, and I don’t want you to miss out, so I am putting it here on the CT blog until it is up at PPF.

Here is the kit –

You can grab that in the store without the alpha and the add-on.  Or, if you aren’t able to do the challenge to get the alpha for free, you can grab it here with the alpha and the add-on.

Here is the add-on!

Grab it here for free during July!

And don’t forget to check out the challenge for July!  You will get this alpha free, just for participating!  (We have something else planned for those of you outside the US who might not have a need for this alpha.)

Have a great day!

July Challenge

July 1st, 2008 by Diane

Show us your fonts and get an alpha.  It’s that easy this month.  Everyone loves fonts.  I go nuts myself about every 2 months and download a whole bunch of new ones.   And it was no different for this challenge either.  There are 10 different fonts on this ad.

All you have to do for this challenge is match a font to the theme of your page.  Make sure that you link your page back to the CT blog and include the font name.  And as always, there will be a random drawing for a gift certificate to Heather’s store.  The winning layout will get at least $10 to play with, but if your page has 50% or more of products by Heather, will increase that gift certificate to $20.  And just for participating, you’ll get this new alpha that Heather made.

Don’t worry, if you’re not from the states we do have a contingency plan for you.

Here are some great free font sites that you may not be familiar with.

http://simplythebest.net/fonts/index.html

http://www.fontgarden.com/gallery/b.html

http://fonts500.com/

http://www.abstractfonts.com/

And for examples, check out these beautiful pages that Heather’s girls did.

Steph used the fonts German Caps and Old English Text MT.

Andrea used Heather’s new kit, Some Gave All, now available in the store and her font is Boston Traffic.

Vicki also used Heather’s new kit for this beautiful page.  She used Do I like Stripes? and Captain Howdy.

And I used the font Titanic on my page.

So find yourself a new font or use one of your favorites.  Just link us up and show off your pages.  We can’t wait to see them.
