Gift cards are how I keep track of how much I spend on books a month. If I added $20 to my gift card, once that balance is gone, I am done buying books for the month.
If an Amazon link is in a post, it is an affiliate link. Other relationships will be stated if there is one.

I didn’t take any pictures this week other than of that bookmark Christiano loves so much. The cover fell off and that was the smallest picture I had of the kids so I glued it on. He thinks I should read all paper books now instead of on my iPad so that I can use his bookmark all the time. 🙂
How are you all doing today? My arm is covered in hives, one of them bigger than a baseball right where your arm bends and I need to call my allergy doctor to get in for more testing. I’ll do that while I’m typing this up. I think after this round of testing I’m off to a specialist for more autoimmune tests.
So those first two paragraphs were written yesterday when I thought it was Friday and I was putting all my posts up for Friday. Turns out yesterday was Thursday. You want to talk about disappointing, I thought I got to sleep in today but nope, kids had to go to school.
Plans for this weekend? It’s the last soccer weekend of the season. Kat has a game. Jordan does too, but he is still out with the concussions. I had to take him for a recheck again yesterday. The 10 day no headache clock restarted last Friday when he had another excruciating headache with blurry vision in one eye. 🙁 On the plus side though, yesterday was the first day since this happened 3 weeks ago that he has acted completely and totally like his normal self. Hopefully we are hitting the point where his brain has healed itself.
What I’m reading this weekend.
I just started this book this morning, it goes up tomorrow. I’m only about 10% in and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it so far. It seems to be different and hopefully will end up being a fabulous book!
For the last year, Julia has lived with two men.
Drayton is hot and mysterious, and Mike takes care of her. Together, they have great sex and a mostly stable relationship—one Julia thought satisfied her. After all, how can she complain about having two sexy men at the same time?
Then everything starts to change. Drayton is keeping a dark secret that threatens more than their arrangement. It might actually threaten their lives. And Mike keeps becoming more alpha than she’s ever known him to be.
What once was fun and casual is now a tangle of conflicting desires. Drayton wants to keep his freedom. Julia wants a real commitment.
And Mike…well, Mike just wants her.
Next up is a favorite author of mine!
WARNING: The hero in this book is hot, charming, smart, funny, ripped, gorgeous, respectful and completely panty-melting. Please proceed.
A sexy and swoony new adult romance…
Celebrity photographer and college senior Jess Leighton desperately needs to crash the wedding of the year. Snapping just one pic of the A-list Hollywood couple tying the knot will pay her way through grad school. But with security tighter than the bride-to-be’s corset, she’ll need more than her camera and smarts, she’ll need help from her biggest rival–hot, British, motorcycle-riding William Harrigan, whose sexy accent can melt the panties off any woman. He’s the last person Jess should trust, but he’s her only ticket in.
William Harrigan wants one thing – to stay in L.A. past college graduation. With a student visa set to expire, the clock is ticking. When he lands a gig that pairs him with the beautiful blond spitfire Jess, he’s scored his best shot at living out the American dream. Winning her trust would be a whole lot easier, however, if he didn’t have ulterior motives…
But there’s no faking the intense attraction between them. Try as they might to resist each other, soon sparks are flying, as they devise a plan to sneak into the ceremony. But when Jess’ new celebrity client raises the stakes, she starts to smell blackmail, and soon she and Will are chasing down cheating directors, staking out clandestine trysts, and making fake IDs, all while sneaking scene-stealing kisses and hot nights together.
The audience loves a happy ending, but in a town where everyone’s acting and no one’s playing by the rules, can Jess and William find their own ever after in time?
**Stars in Their Eyes is the start of the sexy, swoony and scandalous new adult series Wrapped Up in Love, which is a spin-off of the NYT and USA Today Bestselling Caught Up in Love series. You don’t need to have read Caught Up in Love to follow this new series, but you’ll likely enjoy those books!**
And then one I’m really stoked to read, I don’t read nearly enough historical fiction, though I love it –
It begins as a fairytale romance-a shipboard meeting in 1880 between vivacious Southern belle Florence Chandler and handsome English cotton broker James Maybrick. Courtship and a lavish wedding soon follow, and the couple settles into an affluent Liverpool suburb.
From the first, their marriage is doomed by lies. Florie, hardly the heiress her scheming mother portrayed, is treated as an outsider by fashionable English society. James’s secrets are infinitely darker-he has a mistress, an arsenic addiction, and a vicious temper. But Florie has no inkling of her husband’s depravity until she discovers his diary-and in it, a litany of bloody deeds…
I’m starting to realize I’m in trouble this weekend and will be reading my butt off. I have 2 that are due up on Monday. The Ripper’s Wife isn’t for a tour, so if I have to I can push it back to another day, but I don’t want to. We’ll see how this weekend goes. Wish me luck!
When good, clean fun just isn’t an option.
Just once, good girl Tate Cross wants to experience a red-hot, no-strings-attached affair. She’s temporarily left her graphic artist position in Denver to settle her aunt’s estate in Spearfish, South Dakota, but the city won’t let her sell the property until the landscaping is up to snuff. The Native American landscape contractor her friend highly recommends looks like he can meet all her needs, in the flowerbed and out.
Nathan LeBeau believes few women look at the Native American man beneath the filthy work clothes and hard hat. When Tate offers to trade art lessons for dirt work, the tempting subtext is as plain as the lettering on the side of Nathan’s truck. But in truth, he’s tired of relationships based solely on sex. His goal of proving he’s not completely hopeless in matters of the heart is second only to his dream of expanding his business.
It figures. Tate wants no-holds-barred sex right about the time the one-time Casanova wants a good old-fashioned romance. Bring on the battle of wills!
This book has been previously published.
Warning: A reformed bad boy who wants a taste of real love, and a good girl who wants just one taste of the wild side—and she’s willing to drive a hard bargain to get what she wants.
And this one – my Lord, it’s a good thing I love to read.
Kassia Preston, a best selling author whose a bit of recluse, but who could blame her after what had happened to her all those years ago. Thankfully, her brother Darios and her friends Genna and Tara had always been there for her. One day in Darios’ gym, she meets Jason. He’s young, fit and mouthwateringly sexy. Kassia is drawn to him, not only because of his looks but because of something else, something indescribable.
Jason Theroux, a young SWAT officer has his own demons that he keeps hidden deep inside. What happens when these two broken souls get together? Will they be able to survive their past and forge a new future? Or will their demons begin to threaten their relationship, destroying it completely?
Alright, now that we’ve made it over the mountain of books I have to read this weekend, let’s go on to the books I bought.
These were all 99 cents when I bought them. Check the prices before you 1-click.
If you want to grab the free books I find, follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook.
Those can go by really fast so I don’t make blog posts for it, especially when it’s one on my wish list marked down.
Look at me keeping my spending under control this week. I’ve got a whole bunch of 99 cent sales/books on my Kindle wish list that I am trying really hard not to go through and 1-click every single one. But they all looks so good!
How are you doing on your challenge?
