Gift cards are how I keep track of how much I spend on books a month. If I added $20 to my gift card, once that balance is gone, I am done buying books for the month.
If an Amazon link is in a post, it is an affiliate link. Other relationships will be stated if there is one.
If you have shopping to do on Amazon, click on their logo below. It won't charge you anything, but it helps keep this site up and running and pays for the giveaways I do here and on my Facebook page. Thank you!
I bet y’all thought I forgot Friday Reads this week didn’t you?
I didn’t. I was going to post it after my doctor’s appointment this morning and then was just dead tired. I went back to sleep since the kids were still snoozing. When I woke up I came out to my office to do the post only to discover that my Thunderbird email client had crashed (again). I love that client so much but I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t try something else when it has crashed and all of my email disappeared twice in the last couple of months.
Fortunately, I was able to recover an older profile file and just had to rewrite my email signature. All of my email is back. Yay.
What has been going on this week? I think I have posted most of it. It’s been a really really boring week. I have been begging my children to PLEASE go outside and play. Remember when we were younger and our parents said go outside? We were like YES! Bye! Now kids are like as soon as I finish what I’m doing with my diamond sword on Minecraft. I have to literally unplug the TV to get them to stop turning it on.
Tomorrow will be a fun day, but I can share what we are doing until afterwards. I don’t think my brother in law reads my blog, but just in case, we are going to have some fun for his birthday. Then Leecy has a workshop with the Joffery Ballet company at our studio tomorrow. She is totally excited to get back to dance. She says she misses it now during the last 2 weeks because the studio has been closed, we’ll see how she’ll feels when she is dancing 4 nights a week. 😀 I actually think she will be fine because she loves dance. When she isn’t dancing at the studio she is dancing at home.
I have no pictures that I haven’t already posted this week besides my cats and everyone loves pictures of cute cats right?
Damon wondering why he can’t go outside.
That’s Elana’s loveseat. We took it out of the family room when we got new furniture awhile ago.
She claimed it by ripping it apart so we let her keep it.
Alright! On to the books I am reading this weekend.
This first one? YAY! It’s here, it’s here!
Starting over is hard to do.
That’s what forty-year-old Jane McKinney learns when she quits her job, sells her home, and leaves Seattle behind to start a new life and pursue the man she loves in Austin. After the death of her daughter, Melody, Jane never thought she would find happiness again – until she met Caleb Cummings. Sensitive, loving, and mature beyond his years, Caleb is a handsome young musician struggling to make ends meet. But when his fortunes take an unexpected and drastic turn for the better, Jane is left wondering where exactly she fits in.
Can you ever leave the past behind? Jane must now decide if she really is willing to commit to a new beginning with Caleb – or if some wounds are just too deep to ever truly mend.
Next up, or at least I have it on my calendar color coded as a review, but I don’t have it yet, hopefully it will get here –

Last up for this weekend and this will probably take me into Monday –
Jared died twenty years ago. Now he’s trapped between Heaven and Hell, sent back again and again to protect those whose time has not yet come. Never before has he been tempted by the desires of mortal flesh. But then, he never had to watch over Tess Darcy before. For Tess he’ll break every rule, even if it costs him his immortal soul.
Haunted by nightmares of the stalker who nearly killed her, Tess has buried herself deep in the Australian Outback to escape her past. But Kangaroo Creek isn’t quite the quaint little town it looked on the map. Nothing is what it seems here. Every night, the same incredibly hot erotic dreams visit her, leaving her wanting more. The Librarian’s channeling demons, and assures Tess the handsome hunk she just ran into is dead. The bookstore seems to have rather unusual clients, and destroyed photos have a way of reappearing over and over again.
Other than that it’s a peaceful little town… until the man who nearly killed her returns from the dead. Is Jared the man of her dreams? Can he save her from her nightmares, or will the magic that haunts this town consume them both?
