What I’m Reading This Weekend #FridayReads (41)

*Check me out on Cafepress and Etsy.
Gift cards are how I keep track of how much I spend on books a month. If I added $20 to my gift card, once that balance is gone, I am done buying books for the month.
If an Amazon link is in a post, it is an affiliate link. Other relationships will be stated if there is one.

How are you all this fine Friday morning?  I think I am alive despire getting up an hour before my alarm was supposed to go off (again).  Who gets up at 5:30 when they don’t have to?  Especially when they didn’t go to bed until close to 1?  That would be me.  Something is seriously wrong with my body.  It is a proven fact that I am a night owl.  I refuse to turn into a morning person. 🙂

To my fellow Americans, do you all have big plans for this holiday weekend?  Don’t forget to take time to remember why we celebrate memorial day.  Take a moment to honor the lives that were given to protect Americans.  It is not all about the 3 day weekend and the swimming pools opening up.

We do not have any plans this weekend that I know of.  I am going to enjoy a peaceful weekend that doesn’t involve running 4 kids to soccer games all over the place and I am going to read.  That sounds like a perfect weekend to me.  I am sure at some point my kids will be dragging me outside and begging for a bike ride at some time.

What might be on my list to read?  Let us get to it.

I just started the first first one in this series this morning and let me tell you it starts off with a bang.  Wow.  Kind of hard to read but those are the books I like the most.

Jenna “Ice” Chandler grew up as part of a motorcycle club. She considered it her home, until one wrong move made it her prison. After months of abuse, she is rescued by Chipper, who takes her to Big Clifty, Missouri, home of the Renegade Sons MC.
Kiddrick “Kidd” Jones is the president of the Renegades. He knows there is something special about Ice the moment his older brother, Chipper, brings her into the club, but stays away, because she is too young.
When time comes for Ice to take her place in the club, she has two choices, become an old lady or a club whore. Not believing in love and knowing a man can never be faithful, she decides to earn her spot on her back.
With each passing year, Kidd’s feelings for Ice grows and the urge to make her his becomes stronger. Frustrated and jealous, he finally decides it’s time to make her his.
Will Ice finally thaw out and give love a chance, or is Kidd fighting a losing battle?
WARNING: Renegade Lady contains adult situations some readers may find offensive. This is a raw and gritty story involving explicit sex, graphic language, violence and drug use. Not intended for readers under 18.

Then I will move on to –

Daisy “Little Flower” Anderson has lived her entire life on the sidelines of the Renegade Sons MC. Her father is a member, and her mother a club whore turned old lady. Not wanting to follow their footsteps, she chose a different path; one that keeps her close to the biker family she loves, but out of the club.

Struggling to keep it together, she never thought she would have anything of her own, until she met Preach. He is everything she swore she didn’t want in life. One night of passion leads to unexpected consequences, and she knows, now more than ever, it’s time to move forward.

Garrett “Preach” Austin lived his life caught in his father’s iron fist. He never thought he would want anything more than freedom from his past, until he met his “Little Flower”. She shows him there is more to life than pain.

Preach has a secret; one that forces him to choose between Daisy and his brothers. Even though he loves Daisy, the Renegade Sons are the only true family he has. He knows he can’t have her, yet he can’t let her go.

When Daisy moves on, Preach realizes what he’s lost. Can he prove that he’s the man for her, or is he too late?

Then I have another one coming up that I want to read the fourth in the series for before I read the one that is on tour (I would read 1, 2, and 3, but I don’t have them. :)  I bought 4 when it came out because Tara West said to and I love Tara. 😀 )

Fighting for someone’s heart is more challenging than fighting for a title.
For a time, many years ago, love had grown, love was made, and in the end … love was lost. The decision to leave had been the worst mistake Shelby Dawson could have ever made. However, at the time—ten years ago—she felt her secret needed to stay hidden, even if it broke her heart and the heart of the man she loved. Back then, he was all hers and she was all his, but now things have changed and he isn’t the same guy she knew.
He happens to be the well-known MMA Heavyweight champion and famous bad boy, Matt ‘The Destroyer’ Reynolds, who once before struggled to help his family pay the bills. Now, he has money flowing with each undefeated win and an insurmountable number of women filling his bed. Everything is perfect for the illustrious fighter, until one day it all changes. In walks the girl from his past, the same girl who promised to stick by him but left and never looked back.
Their second chance to make things right will not come easy, for when one mistake is made an unwelcome consequence soon follows. Someone out there wants to rip them apart and they won’t stop until Matt and Shelby pay the ultimate price … their love.

and the one coming up on tour –

Both have what she wants … but only one has what she needs.

Working with professional athletes and helping them recover from their injuries has always been Kate Townsend’s dream, but after an accident left her scarred and heartbroken years ago she refuses to let what happened in her past happen again. Staying focused is the key, as well as not letting her feelings interfere with her job … no matter the circumstances. All of that is easier said than done when not only one, but two men crave her healing touch, igniting every single desire she’s denied herself for so long.

Cooper Davis, NFL’s star quarterback and most eligible bachelor, packs up and leaves his home to move across the states to the East Coast after an injury results in the embarrassing trade to another team. Bitter from the pain, he deals with his problems through drugs and alcohol—almost ruining his football career—until he meets the one woman who makes himwant to feel; the same woman who refuses to give up on him no matter how many times he screws up. He has to have her, and he’s not going to stop until he makes her his. Especially, now that someone else threatens to take her away.

Motocross champion and local bad boy Luke Collins never takes no for an answer. For the past four months he’s used his charms to get what he wants, and now he’s so close to getting the girl of his dreams … if she’ll give in just once. One time is all he needs, and he’s never been known to fail, but he’s also never had to fight for a woman’s affections. Only one man will win their way into Kate’s heart, but which one will intercept the other and take what they want? Which one will she choose?

I think that is all I am going to schedule for myself this weekend.  What is on your list for this weekend?

2014 Reading Challenge

2014 Reading Challenge
Heather has read 116 books toward her goal of 200 books.

Not bad.  116 books of 200.  I have August blocked off for books that I have bought.  Hopefully I will be close to my goal.  I was hitting it fast and furious for a bit, May has been especially crazy, and I am not wanting to burn out at all so I am going to slow down a bit when I can.
How are you doing on your goal?
Have a wonderful weekend!
