30 weeks of Friday reads posts. That has to be some kind of record for me. Normally I start a weekly something or other and it fizzles out after a couple of weeks. This is one post that I enjoy each week. I like reading everyone’s Friday Reads Tweets and watching the videos over on BookTube.
Alright this weekend I am trying to pull ahead for some books/reviews that I need to do this coming up week.
First up is a series of books:
Welcome to the South – where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known. It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.
Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember – constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life. His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.
Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death. Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.
Only a few questions remain – Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?
Charlie Jennings and Jhett Hudson knew that a single moment could change everything.
It took them one song to find each other, one question to give them a chance, one kiss to fall in love, and one night to almost lose it all. But they had one thing other couples lack – pure, unconditional love – and that takes more than a moment to walk away from.
Falling in love is only the beginning. Forever is what happens next.

Next up is one the author asked me if I would read. I read the blurb and couldn’t help but get excited about this book!
Latesha Thomas is a beautiful, young African-American woman who lives with her handicapped father. She is in her final year of university and they are having a hard time making ends meet. She decides to start a matchmaking service to make a little extra money, though she has no experience and it turns out to be a disaster. She does, however, meet a client, a handsome white man named Peter Elsworth. The sparks fly immediately, but there’s a huge problem. Her father, and his mother, are vehemently opposed to an interracial relationship. This leads to tremendous conflict, but their love will not be denied. They grow closer, yet the closer they become, the more the tension rises. In time a secret connection between their two worlds become clear and this adds another dimension of conflict and complexity. But love is color blind and they are irresistibly drawn to one another.
When Dr. Cain Turner’s life was literally blown apart in a small province of Afghanistan, it was only the hope and memories of one woman that propelled him forward. But there were more demons to face.
In the small country hamlet of Paradise, Tennessee…Faith waits. Surrounded by her loving sisters, Faith McKinnon had faced her own demons, having thought that the love of her life had deserted her.
But fate…and a few meddling McKinnon sisters…conspired to bring the two star-crossed lovers together again.
NOTE: Romantica — this is a romance with erotica in certain sections!!
Purchase Cain’s Salvation
I think that’s pushing it hard enough. Promise Me Forever is shorter so 4 books this weekend is doable.
What’s on your list? Anything new that I must buy and read? I know I’ve bought a few this week. I should share shouldn’t I?
Adam’s Fall – $2.99
I have been waiting for those last 3 books to come out and they were released without me noticing. Bad Heather. 😀
