The results after using Splat Pink Fetish

They do.

I promised the girls I would do something fun to their hair after school got out.

I was thinking highlights again.

They wanted a completely different color of hair.

They wanted blue but the store I was at only had hot pink and red that is redder than my hair. I was contemplating that color for myself.

We went with pink.

Fun, funky, and permanent.

If you knew me in person you’d know that I don’t care about things like that.  I think I got my first bottle of Sun In at 9 or 10 and was dying my hair, changing the color all the time at 12.

I have tattoos and piercings and I believe in expressing your individuality.

(They are  not getting tattoos or more than their ears pierced, which they already had done at 10 weeks old, until they are 18.)

I was going to just do the layer underneath their hair but impulsively decided on a pink streak in front.  I think it’s cute.

They love it.

The owner of Alyce’s dance studio didn’t look as thrilled.  I promise it’ll be back to her normal brown by the next recital in May. Promise.

Sometimes I can be the fun mom.

When I’m not making them do their chores, their homework, be polite, etc etc etc.

I’m raising children who can express their individuality and be responsible human beings.

nail polish remover helps a bit with that

I had pink hands for a couple of days. The gloves leaked.  Next time I buy different gloves before I start.

Dear FTC (wo)Man:  While this is not a review post, there is an Amazon Affiliate link coming. The post is just to share what I did to the girls’ hair. Thank you.

Splat Rebellious Colors Hair Coloring Kit Pink Fetish

That’s what I used.  Splat in Pink Fetish.  Looking at the customer images over on Amazon makes me want to do my hair in the Lusty Lavender.  Can you do that at 38? It might limit my wardrobe colors.  Who am I kidding?  I almost always wear black.

I’d do the red but I assume the lasting power would be worse than what I already use.  That at least lasts around 4-5 weeks as long as I take care of it.

I’ll sit on that idea for a bit and we’ll see.

I really want fire engine red hair.

I just hate the bleaching process I would need to get it that red.

Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, but if I do, you’ll be the first to know I’m sure. 🙂

Have a great day!

  • I personally don’t mind roots when it comes to odd-colored hair like pink, purple, green, etc. Also, my hair grows out really fast, so if I bleached it every time my roots started showing my scalp would probably be a mess! My advice to you is to bleach your hair up in levels, slowly and gradually. Your hair is going from an incredibly dark color to as white as you can get it, and it is going to be brittle and dry, just like what your mom said. You will need to deep-condition it on a regular basis—this means you’re going to be buying lots of hair treatments, overnight-repair masks and the like, so you can have hair that does not look like hay. Because if you don’t, it will really look terrible and the ends will strongly resemble a broom, trust me. Once you’ve bleached it light enough and dyed it your shade of choice, wash it as infrequently as possible to retain the color. When you do wash it, you’ll need to use cold water if you want your color to last a long time. Dry shampoo is your friend.
