My Essential Oils Recipes Made With Eden’s Garden Essential Oils

I have always been one who prefers the natural or holistic approach before I reach for conventional medicine.  I keep dozens of different dried herbs on hand and I’ve always kept a few essential oils here (tea tree oil and juniper berry oil are two that I have always in my cabinet).  I don’t shun traditional medicine, I just know that we overuse antibiotics and are creating super bugs.

My 15 year old son had an earache and a bad dry cough (bad enough to bring out the nebulizer) on New Year’s Eve in the evening.  Too late to take him to the doctor and the clinic would be closed the next day.  It wasn’t bad enough at that point to go to the ER so I treated him at home.  I rubbed a mixture of juniper berry and lemon oil in a coconut carrier oil all over the outside of the ear and down onto his lymph nodes.  Then I mixed four thieves with grape seed extract and rubbed it on his chest.  I did that a few times that evening and on New Year’s Day and he woke up on the 2nd feeling find again.

I think there is definitely a time when the natural approach can be taken and a time when a doctor needs to be seen.

What I hadn’t used my herbs or oils for was aromatherapy.  Where have I been?  When I was breaking out in hives all the time I had 2 different friends who gave me different oils to use on the hives and while the hives didn’t go away, it eased the itching so much.  That’s when I started researching all of the different oils and what they do.

I also researched all the different companies.  I came upon Eden’s Garden in my search and ordered the lemon, peppermint, and lavender oils for my hives.   They worked amazingly well. Then I just went a bit crazy. 😀  Depending on whether I have a gift card I am using or cash I order through the website or on Amazon (gift card).  (I just got an order that I placed the other day for the synergy blend set and love them plus I have 17 more oils on the way that I ordered with another gift card.  I will have all of their oils someday.  I love them so much.)

The kids have a diffuser in their rooms and that is how these essential oil recipes came to be.  The girls have to alternate because they share a room, but they both like each other’s choices so it works out.

PeppermintDelight
Kat’s Peppermint Delight already pinned here.

2 drops peppermint
2 drops vanilla
2 drops cinnamon bark

That recipe reminds me of when I’d get car sick and my grandma would pass me back the pep-o-mint Lifesavers.  It’s a happy smell for me.  She loves that smell diffusing at night when she is going to sleep.

OrangeDream Jordan’s Orange Dream already pinned here.

2 drops sweet orange
2 drops vanilla
2 drops cinnamon bark
1 drop clove

He loves this smell and says it reminds him of a dreamcycle.  He wasn’t thrilled with me when he was sick and I diffused Four Thieves (which my girls love too) in his room for a few nights.  He isn’t one for change and wanted his orange scent.

PeppermintPickMeUp

2 drops peppermint
2 drops sweet orange
1 drop vanilla
1 drop clove

I don’t know what it is with my girls and peppermint, but I’m good with it.  I love the smell of peppermint.  This one started because I was diffusing peppermint and orange in my office and she loved it.  We played around with the recipe and this is now her favorite.

My favorite that I use so far came from this pin.  It’s called Indian Summer.

1 drop geranium
1 drop clary sage
1 drop lemon
1 drop cinnamon leaf

I have pinned a whole bunch of recipes that I have found on this board if you would like to follow it.

This board has my own recipes.

And this article is my favorite – Common Essential Oil Mythstakes.

It covers the whole therapeutic grade thing that kind of drove me nuts as I was doing my own research.  (There is no governing agency setting a therapeutic grade seal of approval for essential oils.)

If you want to follow me in general on Pinterest, I am right here.

Have a great day!

P.S.  Check out Eden’s Garden if you are looking for some fabulous oils and blends.  They aren’t MLM, I am not an affiliate, I make no money off of posting about them.  I am just a very happy customer of theirs.
