Now that we finally own our own home and don't live in an apartment, I am determined to have a garden. It will be a small one because we don't have a huge yard, but I want a garden none the less.

We bought a bunch of flowers at a plant sale two weekends ago and I picked up some mint and oregano but my oregano isn't faring so well. I was waiting for Pato to clear out a spot to put them in that wasn't in my flower garden and alas, he hasn't done it yet.  My mint is going strong planted by my flowers until he clears out the other areas we are going to use, but I don't think my poor oregano is going to make it.

As soon as Pato gets around to cleaning out my other 3 beds (they were full of thorn bushes when we bought our home) I want to plant more herbs plus start some growing year round in my kitchen.  He wants to start a vegetable garden behind our shed.

Even iI wasn't planting stuff that we would eat, I wouldnt use chemicals and pesticides.  I don't wants my kids playing around it and I don't want my dogs running through it. Plus, I don't even use pesticides to remove dandilions.  My budgies and lovebirds think of those as a delicacy and any pesticide put on the grass and weeds would kill my birds.  Add in that I am planting things that my family will be eating and I definitely want to use organic soil and organic plant food and Whitney Farms® is now bringing us that!

I live in maxi and peasant skirts. I loved them before but seriously live in them since the rounds of prednisone for my shoulder helped me pile on 30 lbs in a little over a month. My shorts and jeans are tight since I haven’t lost all of it yet.

I refuse to buy new clothes just to fit me at this size that I am not staying at, so the skirts it is.

I get most of mine on EBay and at thrift stores but I really want to try this pin.

In order to get to the original tutorial you have to follow a few links, so either follow the pin linked above to see all the different versions of it or go straight to the tutorial. That tutorial is showing a yoga waist band, a must have I think. I just like the way it hides a bit of extra bulge for me.

My girls and me

Got a little sniffly today. It was the last game for Alyce this season which means it was my last game coaching until fall. This season I had all new girls (except for my daughter), so there is always a chance my girls won’t play next season or will get moved around to new teams. I really hope I get this same group next season. Such a fun go get ‘em giggly group of girls.

Hence the sniffles.

I’ll miss them if they get rearranged on me.

I’ll always have Leecy on my team.

We did our drills and then had our game.

I think my girls were frustrated.

“They are too fast and have big kicks!”

That’s just how the ball bounces – or rolls – sometimes baby.

After the game, I did my own little medal ceremony (the club gives medals to the little ones at the end of each season). Then treats!

We thought we’d bring something cool so no matter how the game went they would leave with smiles.

A cooler full of ice cream sandwiches and popcycles.

They left with smiles.

So did I.

]]> This year has flown by so fast. I feel like I was just dropping Alyce off for preschool and now she is done.

Yesterday we all were invited to go to the park and play with them for the last day. nano and I decided to walk from the school to the park with them. So glad I grabbed our wagon! I don’t know how the teachers walked those kids down all the time in an orderly line. Not the shortest walk and they all were so good!

We had so much fun! On the way back, Alyce decided she needed to ride in the wagon with Nano. Got my workout in for the day.

We got in the car and I heard, do I go to kindergarten tomorrow mom?
