I have been working on my computer all week and it’s driving me batty.  I have run every spycheck, every virus remover, plus a registry cleaner.  I have cleaned up, defragged, and everything else I can think of.

It has been freezing and going so slow.  I can’t stand it.  I ran a program that my cousin suggested and my suspicians were right.  One of my memory sticks went bad.

Crud.

Now I need to replace those.

Computer problems are torture.

People have regularly had computers for a little less than half of my life.  How did I survive before them?  Pen and paper. Calendars.  Boring.

Here I am on my phone blogging.  Long ways from my first flip phone that took up half of my purse.

Going to see what I can do with my computer until I get new ddr2.

I am in tears as I right this.  I’m at my brother’s so we are safe at least.  The apartments had a meeting and no one will be able to go back and live in their apartment.  The only apartment that would fit out family was rented out before we were able to sign a lease.

There are 4-5 inches of water in the apartments on the bottom floor, which is where mine is.  We’re hoping we can get in tonight when they take the water out and get anything out that we need immediately.

Now we need to find a place to live.

And probably a new computer.

Mine sat on the floor under my desk and is probably floating in my apartment right now.

I can’t type any more.

I don’t know what we are going to do.  And no, we didn’t have renters insurance.  Stupid.  I know.  We were tight trying to pay everything that had to be paid and we let that one lapse.  No need to look up car insurance reviews, I need renter’s insurance reviews, well, I actually am probably going to mobile home insurance reviews.

Piece of advice.  Get renters insurance.

today @ 3:30 pm or so a fire broke out in my apartment building.   We wern’t home but my brother saw smoke from the interstate and called me.  We were able toget Junie, twinkle, and woodstock out but they wouldn’t let me go back in for the budgies.  They fought the fire for hours. Afterwards a firefighter  went in and brought out the budgies whomiraculously made it through allthat smoke and water.  The south side of the building was totaled.  The roof collapsed.  They said all of us on the north side will have water and smoke damage. We can’t get in to take stock of what was lost.  We can’t go in until they say it is structurallysafe.  We are at my brother’s now.  I’m blogging from my phone to let you  know i’ll be mia.  I don’t even know ifi have a computer that’s not floating through my living room.  I did grab my ehd when I grabbed junie.  I couldn’t lose the kidspictures.   I posted pics on my twitter – heatherm74.  You can also go to whotv.com or kcci.com to read more on the news. I had a post that I was ready to put up today when I read Leticia’s post.  Leticia was struck by tragedy last night.  Thank God she and her family were out of town when it happened.  Her house burned down.  Her 2 cats made it out, but her poor dog perished in the fire.  My heart is breaking for her.

I have talked to Yvonne at Scrappity Doo Dah and just as I expected, she already had started the ball rolling.  There will be a kit put together with all proceeds going to Leticia.  Any designer who wants to help, please contact myself, Yvonne, or Tam.  A color scheme is being put together, we have a theme in mind, and we are getting designers lined up to help with the kit. 

Leticia is one of the most well liked, sweetest, do anything for anyone type of person that I know.  She is just a beautiful soul and she needs us now.  I am asking as many designers as are able to help contribute to this kit, even if it’s just a couple of papers, a couple of elements, or an alpha, anything.

Let’s make this kit huge and do everything we can to help Leticia and her family out.

I am blogging from my phone to tell you why I haven’t blogged.  My “spill proof” keyboard was spilled on Friday night.  It still works yes, but the keys are stick.  When I type N you see nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.  All the keys do that.  Pato was supposed to take it apart and clean it for me but he keeps forgetting.  I just sent him a text that said I can’t blog, I can’t respond to emails, the house is clean, the kids are sleeping, I am staring at the walls.  Thanks for forgetting again.  He said he’l clean it tonight.  I’ll hopefully be back with pictures tomorrow!

At least that is what he told me tonight.  I’m sure he means someplace, such as an amusement park, but I have other ideas, maybe for next summer.  I’ve heard a lot about the Outer Banks over the last few years and I would kind of like to visit there.  My brother was stationed in North Carolina and my parents went there to see him.  They said North Carolina is just gorgeous!  I would love to go there and just relax.  Of course, with 4 kids on vacation with you, it’s not really a relaxing vacation, unless you have a nanny, something we don’t have.

Isn’t that beautiful Caroline Design house beautiful?  I’d love to stay there, on the beach, with a private pool, hot tub, the list goes on and on.  We usually stay in a place like that when we take a family vacation because my parents have a time share that we switch from location to location and personally, I think it’s so much better than a hotel.   You can cook your own food when you want to, even wash your clothes if you need to.  Not that you want to cook and clean on vacation, but sometimes you want to.  Other times it saves a bit of money.

It’s not a theme park, but I think the kids would still have a blast, swimming in the ocean, collecting sea shells, visiting other attractions, all of that fun stuff they love to do.
