Project 365 Day 6

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 6 - 2010

You knew I’d break right?  I can only go so long without a picture of my kids.  They are my  cutest subjects and I can only take so many pictures of snow.

Project365-2010-6

So there you have it.  Alyce and Nano in their jammies.

For this picture I used my Soft Black and White and Blur That Back PSP Scripts.

Those only work with Paint Shop Pro but I assume there are similar ones avaiable for Photoshop since you all have more actions than we do scripts. :)

Project 365 Day 5

Project365-2010-5

This is entitled – It’s too freaking cold still and we’re getting more snow today.

It’s Iowa – in the winter – I don’t got much more than snow and ice to take pictures of.

Pato hasn’t taken my porch stuff to the garage and we’ve gotten like 1000 inches of snow already.  Ok, I exaggerate, but my wicker is going to start breaking and my outdoor cushions are going to crack and split.  He does this every year.  He takes them to the garage like 2 weeks before spring starts.

I’m ready for spring.

Project 365 Day 4

The best part of waking up –

Project365-2010-4

My family members on my mom’s side might recognize the coffee cup.  No, I’m not Jack masquerading as Heather. Jack was my grandpa, and this was his coffee cup.  I miss him.

I’m still working displaying of the photos.  I think I’m getting closer to what I like.  Slowly but surely.

I don’t think I’ve ever said what I’m using for my pictures.  I’m taking them with a Nikon Coolpix 8700.  Not the DSLR I want, but I still love it.  Most of my pictures I run my own PSP scripts on.  The one I use the most is Blur That Back. It gives a nice depth of field illusion that I don’t capture easily with my camera. Since I use PSP Scripts, I also use Paintshop Pro for editing photos.  I use version XI.

361 days to go!

Project 365 – Day 3

Project365-2010-3

Day 3 – Welcome to Iowa when the snow gets dirty.  I had every intention of my picture being of my neice’s birthday party today, unfortunately, I left the camera at home.  Came home to run the Netflix movies up to the mailbox, grabbed my camera and snapped a shot of the dirty snow.  This is when I start hating Iowa. When it’s fluffy and white it’s gorgeous.  Then it turns into that.

Project 365 Day 2

Project365-2010-2

Otherwise known as who friggin’ broke my dolphin’s nose off?  I collect dolphins.  I have for years.  I have a 6 foot tall curio cabinet full of them.  They’ve started taking over shelves on my walls.  But, I was missing the one dolphin that I wanted.  A dolphin made out of Alabama Clay. I’ve been begging every member in my family who lives in Alabama, begging every family member who goes down to visit my family in Alabama, and finally! my mom got me one 2 years ago when she went down to see my Aunt. I love it.  It has a cherished spot on a shelf with my angel made out of Alabama clay (Which I got 2 years before when my mom went down and no dolphins were to be found).  I decided they would be the subjects of my picture today.  I go to dust them off a little so this wouldn’t be a study of the dust in my house and find my dolphin has a chipped nose and tail.  Someone is in trouble.  If whoever did it would have told me when it happened I could have found the pieces and super glued them back on.  Now, my dolphin is just broke. And someone is going to be sad they didn’t tell me when it happened.  If I can narrow down who did it.

She still takes a pretty picture.
