Winners!
So, I’m not sure why this giveaway didn’t have many entrants. I’ve started the book and it’s excellent. But, we’ll go with the lucky people who entered!
Click on the image if you need to enlarge it.
Now, see where it says number 18 is a winner? Well, number 18 and number 13 are the same person (winner). So then I went down to the next number and number 19 and 23 were the same person (winner again) so I went down to number 24 and we had the 4th winner. The others are the numbers that were drawn.
Winners will be contacted now and they have 48 hours to respond with their mailing address (no PO boxes).
Thanks for entering!
This site was used to draw the winners since I needed more than 1 number.

The night was
always Abby Whitman’s enemy. As a young girl she walked in her sleep, and one night, she started a fire that scarred her sister for life and left Abby with unbearable guilt . . . and a loneliness that echoes within her. Now Abby has begun blacking out again-with apparently fatal results. A car accident has killed the son of a prominent family. Even though the evidence seems to exonerate her, Abby is plagued by doubts-and soon by mysterious threats. Psychiatrist Dr. Jason Coble is intrigued by Abby and offers to help her explore the dark recesses of her mind.

Which is the safest seat on an airplane? Where is the best place to have a heart attack? Why does religious observance add years to your life? How can birthdays be hazardous to your health?
THE SURVIVORS CLUB
Each second of the day, someone in America faces a crisis, whether it’s a car accident, violent crime, serious illness, or financial trouble. Given the inevitability of adversity, we all wonder: Who beats the odds and who surrenders? Why do some people bound back and others give up? How can I become the kind of person who survives and thrives?
The fascinating, hopeful answers to these questions are found in THE SURVIVORS CLUB. In the tradition of Freakonomics and The Tipping Point, this book reveals the hidden side of survival by combining astonishing true stories, gripping scientific research, and the author’s adventures inside the U.S. military’s elite survival schools and the government’s airplane crash evacuation course.
With THE SURVIVORS CLUB, you can also discover your own Survivor IQ through a powerful Internet-based test called the Survivor Profiler. Developed exclusively for this book, the test analyzes your personality and generates a customized report on your top survivor strengths.
There is no escaping life’s inevitable struggles. But THE SURVIVORS CLUB can give you an edge when adversity strikes.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by things? I know I do! Whether it be money, stress from my environment, or things beyond my control. I think this is a great book that would help me learn to deal with that. You can also check it out on Amazon! It’s got 4 1/2 stars on Amazon and some great reviews!
A review by Damon Gilmore on Amazon:
I have never felt compelled to write an online review, but I couldn’t resist in this case. Ben Sherwood’s “The Survivors Club” was an outstanding book. Sherwood was focused on discovering why some people survive traumatic events and others die. The real life stories are tragic, yet motivating. Sherwood not only provides some excellent examples of survival, he interviews subject matter experts to explain and answer, “Why.” I highly recommend this book. I purchased the kindle edition and completed the survivor profiler questionnaire on the website. I encourage everyone to read this book, you will not be disappointed.
I am excited to be able to give five of you a copy of The Survivor’s Club!
MAIN ENTRY:
Visit Ben Sherwood’s site and tell me which of his other 2 books you would like to read.

I want to win the HP Mini 110-1100 by Studio Tord Boontje with Windows® 7 Home Premium. It’s going to make my life easier! It’ll change diapers, give baths, dress the kids, cook dinner (breakfast and lunch I MIGHT be able to manage.), feed the gerbil and the parakeet, clean their cages, vacuum the floors, wash the dishes, clean the toilets, do the laundry AND put it away (we’ll let Pato keep on ironing for himself, wouldn’t want to overload the poor thing!), get the oldest 2 dressed and on the bus, and even make me a Starbucks frappucino……..hold on, someone is trying to tell me something.
Blushing What do you mean it won’t do all that? Are you sure? Not even wash the toilets?
Ok, I’m back. Sorry for that interruption!
Well, if can’t do all that, it still can simplify my life by helping me stay organized when on the go (I live by my Google Calendar and I haven’t found a way to sync it to my Blackberry), tasks that don’t require the Internet can be done while sitting at soccer practice, although, I think my Blackberry has Wifi, so I might even be able to take care of business at soccer practice, you know between the youngest 2 kids begging for me to pushing them on the swings and keeping rocks out of Christiano’s mouth, when I want a recipe, I could take it to the kitchen instead of printing out every recipe I want to try and stashing it in a messy drawer in the kitchen (told you it would help me cook dinner!). It would fit in my purse so I could take it to doctor’s appointments and keep on working (my DR has wi-fi, ain’t he great?). That is something that should only be attempted at my own DR’s appointments when I’m by myself, because if I do at the kids appointments, Christiano will pull all of the Kleenexes out of the boxes and empty the 5 gallon water cooler in no time flat with Alyce’s help. And it’ll help me find that Starbucks to get my mocha frappucino! I’m directional dyslexic. Dear Abby told me so. I could even jam to music in my bathroom when I lock myself in to hide from the kids.
When I’m not on it, I might even be willing to set it up next to me on my desk and let my kids play their Webkinz on it. Maybe. If they beg are good. Really good, because mama don’t share her electronics well, ask daddy.
Plus, it’ll make me look cool. And the good Lord knows that I need all the help I can in that department these days. I keep telling me kids I used to be cool. Then I had them. They don’t believe me about the cool part too much. Seriously, look at that thing! It’s stylin’. It’d be the only fashion accessory I need, which is good because I don’t spend much on fashion accessories these days – that whole 4 kids thing and all thing.
Ok, so they are giving away 3 of these nifty computers to people who blog about it right? Guess what else! Anyone who comments on my blog is entered to win one also! That’s 6 HPs they are giving away. 3 to the bloggers and 1 to 3 random commenters on the blogs who entered. So, make sure you leave me a comment here, you’ll be entered to win if I win (or even if I don’t win), you know you really want me to win right? You do, I’m telling you, you do. I know, you really probably only care about me winning if by chance your comment is chosen to win too, but we’ll pretend like you really do care if I win or not. It’s better for my ego. And my ego is fragile.
Hey! While you’re here! I need some more Google Friends —->
Over there, to the right. I follow back. Promise! Another thing I could do on the HP! Read all my friends blogs and find new ones to follow! I could follow you all around my house. Not being tied to my desktop? So much simpler!
Now that you know how to enter this giveaway, head on over to my other blog and find more to enter!
ETA This will end on January 20, 2010 at midnight ET and they will draw winners on January 29. Go here to see official rules of the giveaway.
