Gift cards are how I keep track of how much I spend on books a month. If I added $20 to my gift card, once that balance is gone, I am done buying books for the month.

Do you make resolutions? I joke around about resolutions but I never actually make them. Most likely because I never keep them. Never. Like I break them day 1.

This year I’m going to try to make and keep some things that I usually do but that I could do better on. Maybe that way I can keep them.

So in 2013 I resolve to….

  • Read my Bible every day
  • Get down on the floor and play with my kids more.
  • Get back to working out at the gym 5 days a week (with sick kids and the holidays I’ve been slacking)
  • Have more patience (patience is a virtue I have never excelled at)
  • I think those are attainable. The patience one is going to be tough, but it’s something I really need to work on.

Why didn’t I resolve to lose weight? Because I have been calorie counting and working out all the time for months and have gained weight. I’m hoping that my new anti-depressant helps with that along with watching what I eat and exercising, but I don’t want to be disappointed any more. If I lose, awesome! If I don’t, I still kept up my exercising which at least makes me healthier than I was when I wasn’t working out at all.

There are other things I want to do: read more, watch less tv, scrap again (when I get my computer back), cook (healthy food) more – but I’m just going to keep my list to those 4 things. Those are the most important ones to me.

So, do you make resolutions? If you do, how do you keep yourself on track and keep them? Have you ever kept a resolution the entire year?

    Here’s to a happy healthy 2013!

I don’t do resolutions, I just do what I think I need to do. Like going to the gym, helps me work more longer hours. Eating healthy, gives me more boost at the gym and running helps me clear my mind and I can focus more on new ideas while I am not in front of my computer. Good luck with your resolutions! And keep the gym habit :)
