I can say I have been through Texas, the whole state. Through it.
All I got to see was lots of open (interstate) road, rest stops, a couple of drive thrus, and a sleezy motel on our drive from Ohio to the border to take Pato's dad the truck he had bought him. Then we left the truck at the border for inspection and took a bus to Leon, Mexico. I flew home.
I want to go back some day (flying) and actually see some of the awesome things Texas has to offer. One of those places I want to visit is San Antonio.

I’ve never Texas, let alone San Antonio. I would love to travel the country at one point or another–and I will definitely keep this in mind. The part about traveling I dislike the most has got to be the hotels. It seems like with SAVE you can actually stay in a nice place for less money. Thanks for the post Heather!
