Someone Has Some Explaining To Do

Posted by Heather Manning On December - 12 - 2011

Looking around

…. anyone?

tapping microphone

… is this thing on?

Oh, must be me.

It has been crazy around here.

My shoulder is making me lazy.

Results of the MRI came back –

non-healing (or non union – not sure which I heard) fracture to my clavicle, bursitis, something is up with the tendons, and damage to the AC joint?  I don’t remember exactly what happened to the AC joint.

Verdict – shoulder rehabilitation therapy.

That sounds painful.

I also have an appointment with an ortho guy on December 19 to get an expert’s thoughts on whether I should have surgery.  I start physical therapy on Wednesday.

Holding my arms up to type is torture on that shoulder.

Use my laptop you say?  I would but it’s had a blue screen of death for months.  I’m taking it to a friend tomorrow to see if they can get it working.  I have tried saving Windows XP professional (the operating system for that laptop) to a dvd, cd, and thumb drive.  The laptop won’t boot to any of them to reinstall it.

And I hate blogging from my phone and/or iPod.

Add 3 kids in 3 different schools bringing home all kinds of gunk and I have had 4 kids sick non-stop.  One gets healthy, the other one gets sick, they get healthy, 2 more start vomiting, rinse and repeat.

I even missed bloggin on Leecy’s birthday.

Happy belated blog birthday Leecy.  She turned 5 on Dec 2.

I promise, I wished her a happy birthday multiple times on her birthday in person.  And she had a smashing birthday party.

I’d do the pics but I am at my limit right now with my arm and blogging this and the previous post.  I’ll try to do better, I promise.

It just burns to do this for long.

Have a great day!

Smallville … What If?

Posted by Heather Manning On December - 12 - 2011

If you were the writer for the next episode of the next season, what would happen? What does the future look like in Smallville?

I know Smallville ended, but what if it hadn’t?

How would you write the future?

First, I would want to see Clark and Lois say I do.  Don’t you?

After that, I think it would be fun to see the next generation of Superman.  Bring us the birth of Clark and Lois’ first child.  Flash us forward to the future.  Bring us to his struggles.  Maybe he is torn between being good like his father, but maybe inside there is also a bit of evil in there.  A rebellion waiting to get out.  See him storm off one day in anger with his father and maybe Lex Luther is right there waiting to bend his ear a little.  Maybe see him struggle with falling in love, wanting to tell someone who he is, his father and mother warning him against it, flashing back to their relationship in the early days.  Or, who says it has to be a he?  They could have a daughter.  What about throwing in some sibling rivalry.  There could be one born with Clark’s powers and one without superhero stature.

I think that would be a great way to carry it on.  Smallville, the generation … whatever they are calling the generation after this one.

How would you write the next season of Smallville if you could?

Smallville – The Ending

Posted by Heather Manning On December - 5 - 2011

ce1157d6f8_1000204522DVDRGT So, what did you think of the finale of Smallville?

How many shows have lasted 10 years on TV?  Not many when you look at how many shows have been on TV.  Smallville was one of those exceptions.  One where the viewers completely fell in love and none of us wanted it to end.

I think the last show tied it all up nicely but I still miss it.

We got to see Clark learning to fly, which was a moment we all had been waiting for.  Shivers.  I got them.  How about you?  It went so perfectly.  I don’t think they could have done it better.

The wedding.  It was heartwarming and everything I wished it would be.  Lois no longer having to choose between Superman and Clark Kent was awesome too!  She had both of the men she loved wrapped up in one beautiful package.

Those were the 2 huge moments for me that I remember.

What were your favorite parts of the last episode?

Do you think it was executed as perfectly as I do?

I miss Superman.  I miss Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

WB, can we have them back?

I suppose we can in the form of the complete series on DVD.  (I’m smooth aren’t I?)

Bloggers Wanted: Diamond Candles Campaign

Posted by Heather Manning On December - 5 - 2011

I love love love things that make my house smell good!  It’s a slight addiction of mine.  With pets and kids in my house though (and myself) I look for safer alternatives to the traditional paraffin candles.  Soy burns longer, burns cleaner, and makes me feel better about it.

I still don’t burn it in the kitchen around my birds because I haven’t come up with conclusive evidence that it is safe for birds’ respiratory systems (it doesn’t take much of the wrong thing in the air to kill a bird), so I am extremely cautious with them.  I do light candles in the other rooms of my house, because I like the ambiance in the evening and the smell all day long.

Diamond Candles has put a very neat spin on their candles.  Not only are they soy, they have a ring in the middle of each candle.  A ring that could be worth $10 to $5000 dollars.  A glittery pouch tucked away in the candle.  What will you find in it?  I dreaming pink sapphires, but that’s just me.

They also are having a call for bloggers right now!  Yep, they need us to review, giveaway, and spread the word about their unique candles!  Interested?  Head on over and see how to get involved!

Have fun and good luck!
