Hickory Farms

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 30 - 2011

Perfect gift idea – for anyone!  Nothing says I love you at Christmas time like Hickory Farms.  At least for me.  Send me the fudge, mom, if you’re searching for my perfect presents! :)

Oh Hickory Farms.

How I love thee.

Let me count the ways.

Sausage.

Chedder.

Nuts.

Fruit.

Fudge.

Cookies.

So much more.

Seriously, what tells you it is Christmas time faster than seeing the Hickory Farms store at your local mall?

When my grandpa was alive,  I always got him a Hickory Farms gift basket for Christmas.

When I bought him clothes he gave them back to me to wear.

I knew he’d eat this.

And share!

‘Cuz I love them too.

Their #1 gift basket was dropped off at my door just in time for Thanksgiving.  My sister in law warned my children that if they dared eat that cheese without her, there would be dire consequences.

They know how much their Aunt Shelley loves cheese and took her seriously.  So did Pato.

It went over huge when I set it out before Thanksgiving dinner was completely done.  Every last piece gone.  I’m glad I ate some as I cut it up.  I know my family with cheese and sausage.  My favorite was the farmhouse cheddar.  I’m not a huge smoked person, so those were not my favorites, but for everyone else, it was a smash!  The summer sausage.  I could live on that daily.  They have the absolute best summer sausage!

I was just looking through their site for more stuff for me my family’s holiday gifts and they have a category called military gifts.

Order military Christmas gifts from Hickory Farms and express your appreciation for deployed soldiers. Our gifts for soldiers are a great way to thank the brave men and women of the military during the holidays. You’ll find unique gifts for military personnel that feature nostalgic authenticity and quality ingredients that are sure to brighten the day of any soldier. Choose from an assortment of military packages that offer free shipping to APO and FPO addresses.
You’ll find perfect APO gifts for the Christmas season, so your deployed family member or friend can have a taste of home during the holidays. Support the troops and show your appreciation with military Christmas gift baskets that are eligible for free FPO delivery.

I think that is a very cool gift idea to send along with your box of essentials that those men and women need.

I need their fudge.  I really do.

I have a slight addiction to fudge.  Don’t judge.  We all have our vices.  Look at this!

My mouth is watering just looking at it.  So yummy!  Heavenly Fudge Assortment

Now that I have you as hungry as I am, head over and check out the rest of their selection.  You will be the most favorite gift giver ever if you include Hickory Farms on your gift list and with $3 flat rate shipping and awesome daily deals, you’ll be feeling pretty good about your gift giving self!  (Make sure you don’t forget a present for yourself!)

I Got Crafty

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 29 - 2011

Perfect gift idea – for anyone!  Who wouldn’t love something you designed as a present?  Get it ordered by 12/2 to ensure Christmas delivery! Use coupon code FREESHIP15 for orders over $15.

Yesterday I wanted to make some presents for my dad’s birthday and Pato’s Christmas present.  I can’t post what I made them because, well, they are connected to me on Facebook and they could come across this blog post and then the surprise is blown.

I decided I needed to make something for myself too though and I decided to make a doormat.

I cannot hardly wait for this to get here.  I am almost more excited about this than I am the presents.

doormat

I promise that drop shadow is all artscow’s doing and not mine for their display purposes.  I am not a dark drop shadow type of gal, I like it soft, much softer.

Is that not the cutest?

I actually didn’t have a coupon for that but I did have special deals they have sent out for the presents that I bought.  They send out the BEST deals via email.

And their quality is fabulous.

I have gotten multiple photo books, watches, purse, umbrella, jewelry, canvases, coin purses, and more from them.

Just in case you were wondering what they are like.

The only downside is that to get it by Christmas, you have to order it be December 2 because it is international shipping.

If you want to check them out, go on over to Artscow.

I’ve got to give AnnaBV designs some mad love to.  Everything on that is from her kits she designed for so you think you can scrap awhile ago.  She is one of my most fave designers!  Thank you Anna for those kits and all of the other beautiful things you design you fabulous woman, you!

And now this commercial for Artscow is over. I can’t help it, when I order something from them, I have to share. :)

Have a wonderful day!

This is my own post.  Artscow did not ask me to do it.  I just have mad love for them.  I received nothing in compensation for posting this.  They have no idea I am posting this and may never know. :)

Digital Scrapbooking Christmas Freebie

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 29 - 2011

I’m ashamed to say, it has been that long since I have designed ANYTHING.  With that being said, I am retiring almost my whole store after Christmas.  HUGE sale right now.  75% off of EVERYTHING, personal, commercial, everything.

After the sale is over the only thing I am keeping will be my doodles and my PSP scripts.  I love creating those and I am going to concentrate on those again.  I think that will keep designing fun for me.

Check out the sale!

I know, I know, you’re here to see the Christmas freebie right? :)

I did say I am concentrating on doodles and PSP scripts.  I love the look of hand drawn things and this freebie falls into that category.

HManningChristmasFreebie

Did I mention I also like it when something looks like a kid drew it?  Combine the two and you get this Christmas tree and ornament.

Go on over and download it and enjoy!

I Should Give Up On It

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 29 - 2011

You know, my computer and I have been through a lot, including a fire that destroyed my whole apartment building and left my tower sitting in water.

It hasn’t worked the same, but it just keeps chugging along.

Kind of makes me teary eyed thinking about replacing it with the other one sitting by my desk.

It was donated to me after the fire.

I knew then that mine wasn’t working right but I just kept fixing it and fixing it and fixing it.

I love my computer.

We’ve done so much together.

Before Thanksgiving, I turned it off to install updates, which never install anyway for some reason, and it wouldn’t turn back on.

:(

I was sad.

Jordan got tired of my moping around, complaining that I couldn’t get my computer on, so he climbed under my desk, unplugged everything, dusted it out, gave it a hug, pushed the power button, and 1/2 an hour later it powered up.

First time he has fixed it instead of me.

I could switch everything over, I know, I could.

I dread that.

If I am going to do that, I need to order a backup service rather than back up my important stuff to my EHD.

I don’t want to reinstall every single program I use.

Especially since I am missing some of the software – thank you fire, water, and people who helped me move. :)   Actually, the people who helped me move wouldn’t have tossed anything, it would have been my husband thinking I didn’t need it anymore.

Why would I need PSP X when they are up to PSP X3 now?  Cuz I don’t have the spare change to buy PSP X3 right now.  or X1 or X2.  :)

So, favorite back up service?  Or is there only Carbonite?

I need to research.

And also

Happy belated Thanksgiving to my United States family, friends, beloved readers.

My computer was down (again).

But, I’m thankful it’s still alive.

I’m sorry!

Have a wonderful day!

I am off to back up my recent pictures I have taken just in case it decides to die on me.

Smallville – Best Moments Of Season 10

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 27 - 2011

b8210824c0_Smallville Complete Series I can’t believe Smallville has been through 10 seasons.  I remember when it first started years ago.  It was a sad moment when they aired the final episode, though it was an awesome finale.  How do you narrow it down to just a few favorite moments in a show that you’ve grown to love over so much time?  I don’t know.

Clark’s vows made me, how do you describe, going *deep breath* awwwwww.  And then wishing your man would say that kind of thing to you.  Did you watch that episode?  Took care of Lois’ cold feet right there.  Though, how could you have cold feet when your man is Clark Kent?  I mean, for real.  If you need a refresher, I found a site that has the vows typed up for you to relive.  You can head over here to read them.

SMALLVILLE Courtesy of KryptonSite

I’m just going to say that the entire finale was my favorite.  Every last moment.  It was over.  Completely over.  Come back Superman.  I may have shed some tears.  I wikipedia’d a run through so I didn’t forget anything important, let’s relive that finale together.

Tess learns that the planet Apokolips is coming to Earth to destroy humanity. While verifying the threat, Tess discovers that Oliver is under the possession of Darkseid. Desaad, Godfrey, and Granny supply Oliver with a wedding ring made of gold kryptonite to give to Clark, as it will remove his powers, but Chloe discovers the ring in time and keeps Clark from wearing it. Afterward, Clark helps Oliver to remove the Omega symbol and remove Darkseid’s control over him. Lionel kidnaps Tess in an effort to transplant her heart into another Lex clone, but Tess escapes. Darkseid arrives and Lionel trades his soul for Lex’s life. Possessing Lionel, Darkseid confronts Clark, who finally realizes what Jor-El was preparing him for his entire life. Clark accesses his power of flight and vanquishes Darkseid from Lionel’s deceased body. A newly revived Lex kills Tess, but not before Tess uses a neurotoxin to erase all of Lex’s memories. Clark goes to the Fortress of Solitude and receives the suit Martha made for him before flying away to stop Apokolips from destroying Earth. By moving Apokolips away from Earth, Clark brings hope to humanity and breaks their connection to Darkseid. Moving ahead seven years, Lex is now President-elect of the United States, Clark and Lois are still trying to get married, and Clark has fully embraced his destiny as "Superman".

I miss Smallville.

What was your favorite moments in Season 10?  Or if you want to share your favorite moments going all the way back.  How about the first time we saw Superman fly?  So awesome!!

My Publisher $50 Giveaway

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 20 - 2011

Perfect gift idea – Actually, perfect holiday idea for making those holiday cards to send out!

Do you have those holiday cards made yet?

That’s something I do every single year.  My previous years’ cards that I have made looked like this –

2008cardj-sm

2009ChristmasCard-SM

Christmas2010-sm

This year I went with a different look.  I made a tree that looks (hopefully) like my children drew it and used my kids pictures as ornaments.

christmascard2011-sm

I wanted simpler this year.  I’m not sure why.  It just felt right.

The card was made and the next decision was, who do I go with to print it out?  I decided on MyPublisher.

They have a program you can download and I thought it was super easy to use.  I used the card that just looked like a picture.  Uploaded my image to the blank one, ordered it, and it was done.  My cards will be shipped in 2 – 5 days and I’ll have them by Dec 1 to ship out to friends and family.

They also have TONS of styles to choose from if you just want to add your picture and not design it from scratch like I do.  (It’s the digital scrapbooker in me that has to do that every year!)  They have elegant, fun, simple, so many styles to choose from.

I can’t wait to get the cards and see how it turns out.

For the digiscrappers out there, they also print out 12X12’s if you go that route instead of printing them into a book.  Then again, they also offer books.  You can go with whichever product you like!  Awesome!

MyPublisher gets a

thumbsupfor being a fun, easy to use way to make your holiday cards with very reasonable prices!

And I have a goodie for one of you all!

Someone here is going to win a $50 coupon code for your own holiday cards this year!  We’re going to make this a quickie so that you have time to print, order, and get them mailed out before the holidays hit us hard!

disclaimer

Thank you to Project You for joining with me for this giveaway and for offering me a $50 gift code for my own holiday cards and one to giveaway to my readers!  Remember, you can always read the latest issue of Project You Magazine here at Not Everyone’s Mama!

Nero Kwik Media

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 18 - 2011

4kidsgettingalong-sm

Perfect gift idea – Make your gifts this holiday season!  Have those pictures that are sitting on your hard drive made into a beautiful (very reasonable priced) will be cherished for years photo book for your family and friends.

Awesome new product out right now that I think a lot of my blog readers will be interested in!  My first readers who ever started visiting my blog, my digiscrapping friends, will LOVE this!  I think all of my newer readers/followers/friends/family will think this is really cool too.

Traditionally, when you make a photo book, you go to a site, upload all of your photos and fiddle around with it there.

When you download (it’s free! try it!) Nero Kwik Media, you can do all of that on your computer without taking it to a website now.

It was really simple to do.

Download the software.

Install.

The program automatically finds your pictures for you.

nero

Then go to Create A Photo Product.

From there you can, in my case, add all of your scrapbook pages, and start creating your book.

If you are using a 3600 X 3600 page, you can just drag and drop it where you want it, then click on use as background image.

It places it perfectly where you need it.

neri2

Continue on through each page and your back cover.

Preview.

Order.

You order it straight from the program.

Very cool.

The prices are more than competitive in my opinion too.  $12.99 for a 20 page soft cover book.  Think of how many Christmas presents you could give out at that price!  Homemade, photos of your loved ones, your scrap pages, for $12.99.

If you aren’t a scrapper, this program is really for you.

There are backgrounds included, frames, drop shadows, everything you need to create this book.  Just pick your theme (including holidays and kids!), drag, drop, and position your pictures, add your text, preview, and order.

Seriously, it could not be any simpler.

I honestly think anyone could use this program.

Does it do more than make photo books?

Yes!

nero3

You can burn CDs, watch HD movies you burned to blue ray, make slideshows, share on Facebook and YouTube, sync with your Android device (happy!  I have an HTC Evo 4G), and of course order your photo books, calendars, and greeting cards.

nero4

You might want to check this page out because I found a 40% off coupon code.  That makes your soft cover photo book less than $8.00.

I was really impressed with this.  Doing what I do with digital scrapbooking, I am used to being very technical, measuring edges for bleed, using templates, all of that stuff to get my books just right.

I didn’t have to do that here.

Drag, drop, done.

Head on over and download Nero Kwik Media for free!  Give it a shot!

Excellent product Nero!  I give you kudos and a

thumbsupfor being an awesome easy to product to help families record their memories.  I would like to give my own tip.  If you have more than one child, get a copy of each photo book made for each kid.  That way, when they move away and start their own families, they each have these books to take with them.  That’s how I do it.  I always want to fight with my siblings over my mom’s pics.  This way it’s taken care of.

Disclosure: This post is part of a SocialMoms product evaluation, for which I’ve been selected. One free photo book was made available to me for review purposes. I’ve been compensated for my time with a $100 PayPal payment. The opinions expressed in this post are mine and don’t necessarily reflect the opinions of SocialMoms or Nero.

The Muppets Road Trip Game

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 18 - 2011

muppets

With the holiday driving coming up, I thought I’d share this fun game that was sent to me.  I don’t know about you, but when we go on road trips, I have a list of ideas of games to play to keep the kids occupied.  The last trip was to Ohio.  13 hour drive, 4 kids?  Not a lot of fun.

In THE MUPPETS, Kermit joins Walter, Gary (Jason Segel), Mary (Amy Adams) and—eventually—the whole Muppet gang in the car for a trip of their own, as they endeavor to save Muppet Studios from evil oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper). So don’t despair. The Muppets can help keep kids busy and happy with…DISNEY’S “THE MUPPETS” ROAD TRIP GAME!!!

See if you can spot:

  • 5 Kermit green cars
  • 1 Person who looks like a relative of Gonzo’s
  • 3 People who look like they just stepped off the Electric Mayhem Band bus
  • 4 of Miss Piggy’s biggest fans. How can you tell? Easy, they could be

a) Singing to themselves

b) Fixing their hair in the mirror

c) Blowing kisses to you through the window

d) Blowing kisses to themselves in the mirror

  • 2 Bumper stickers that are so funny, Fozzie Bear would add them to his act
  • 4 People wearing suits they stole from Statler and Waldorf
  • 3 Cars that are so patriotic, Sam the Eagle just might be driving them

Bonus:

  • Sing the chorus of “Mahna Mahna” or “Rainbow Connection” at a red light or while driving through a tunnel
  • Find a license plate from Smalltown, USA (or at least one that is red, white and blue)
  • Find the letters of Disney’s “The Muppets” in license plates
