Google Chrome Crash On Start Up Fix

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 15 - 2011

I have been using Google Chrome FOREVER.  I love it.  It’s my favorite browser.

It started crashing on start up.

I cried.

Not really.

I was seeing this message constantly:

Google-Chrome-crash

I’m all Whoa!  Chrome, you’re really starting to tick me off.

Seriously, searching and searching for days for a solution. (Which, most revolved around opening Chrome and changing your settings, removing your add ons, etc – hello, Chrome is crashing at start up.)  I was using Mozilla Firefox in the meantime, but you see, I love using Social Moms, right?  It wasn’t working with Social Moms.  It wasn’t working with any site that I needed to log in to Facebook with.

Speaking of Social Moms –

C00e14b0281639d5c36b0b4c9bbb6394

Go ahead and like them, I promise, you won’t regret it.  So much fun!  Great info!  Awesome people!  Plus, you easily earn rewards for saying $$$, Amazon gift cards, etc.  They are fab!

Back to my saga, Firefox was totally cramping my style.

I’m a mom blogger.

I do giveaways.

I live for Facebook.

How am I supposed to go about business as normal if Firefox wasn’t letting me do  business as normal.

I was desperate enough to try Internet Explorer again.

I haven’t used IE in YEARS.

Years I tell you.

I had just opened it up, not even typed anything into the search bar yet…. I’ll admit it, I was scared, like you haven’t heard IE security horror stories … when I came across this site – Google Chrome Keeps Crashing How To Fix It.

I would like to marry the author of that article.

If I wasn’t already married?

Maybe he’d take my left arm in gratitude?

This was the fix –

  1. Completely exit from Google Chrome
  2. Go to the Start menu > Run.
  3. Type in either of the following directories in the text field and press OK.
    • Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data
    • Windows 7 or Windows Vista: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
  4. Rename the folder called "Default" in the directory window to "Backup default."

I’m running Vista, so that was the one that worked for me.

Easiest fix I have ever done on my computer I think.

Opened up Chrome and Whoa!  No more crashes.

Thought this might be helpful because one of my FB friends was having the same problem.  It there are 2 of us, surely there are more.

We should start a club.

People who love the author of that article.

And think he is like the most fabulous thing since white bread.

Have a great day!

Sunshine Manicure

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 15 - 2011

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

No, I’m not turning into a nail blogger, I wish I was that good.

But, I did show you my other ones and said I had wished I’d taken more pictures of the other ones I have done recently.  I just redid my nails and remembered to take a pictures this time.  I love this one.  I wanted sunshine.  I was starting out with orange because I was thinking Halloween, then I decided, no.  I want something bright and happy.

sunshinemani Told you that I had started doing just the tips.  I love that look!

sunshinemani2There’s my supplies, minus the Sally Hansen Dries Instantly and the ELF clear polish.

Two different clears?  Yes, I’m strange.  I use the ELF as my base coat and then the Sally Hansen over the top to hold the rhinestones in place.  If you have kids, and you don’t have a lot of time to sit and let your nails dry, and you have a habit of gouging every single nail waiting for them to dry, the Sally Hansen Dries Instantly is AMAZING.  Love it.

LA. Colors Art Deco Red Glitter
L.A. Colors Art Deco Yellow
Pure Ice Hot Tamale

LA Colors I got at the Dollar Tree here in town and Pure Ice, Walmart.

I’m frugal people, if I’m wearing a top brand nail polish it’s because I found it on Ebay.

Ok, now you have seen mine, check out some of the nail artists (who can do it so much better than I can) I follow –

That should keep you busy. :)

Have a great day!
