Oh Katiana.
My child that I can could trust to usually listen to me.
My child that I know knew would never scare me.
My child that always sometimes asks if she can do something.
My child who is now grounded for eternity quite awhile.
That angelic little face hides a very naughty child.
Tuesday after school I was getting ready for soccer practice, practice for Jordan, a rescheduled game for Alyce (that I have to be at because I am her team’s coach).
Now, usually if the bus is late, there is a reason. The bus broke down, another bus broke down, something like that. They’ve been up to 20 minutes late before and I call the bus barn and find out.
I was getting ready, lost track of time, looked and though, it’s 30 minutes past the time she normally gets off.
I texted her best friend’s mom. I thought maybe she mixed up yesterday with Wednesday (she was supposed to go to her friend’s house after school Wednesday). Nope.
Called the bus barn.
No problems with the bus.
They were searching her bus to see if she fell asleep.
Trying to contact her bus driver (who had dropped off the bus and gone home) to see if he had her on the bus?
The next step was calling the police and then putting me on a bus and going to every single stop to find her.
While I was waiting for them to get in contact with him, I told Jordan, go to every single house she hangs out at and see if she went there.
We’re at about 40 minutes now past the time school gets out.
Jordan went down the street and what do you know?
There’s Katiana, about a block and a half down, playing with her friends.
She came home and amongst every punishment I could think of to yell at her, she said, but I told Nano to tell you that I was going to her house.
Let me remind you who Nano is.
Yes, that is Christiano, my TWO year old.
You know, the one you would normally ask tell when you want to go somewhere.
Not mom.
The two year old.
Next time you might tell Junie (the dog), the message might actually make it to me just as well.
Better yet, if you want to ever see your friends outside of school during your entire flippin’ existence, I suggest asking me or dad first.
Just saying’.
Have a great day!

I’m glad I didn’t know about it till she was found. I’d have been on my way to help look for her!
