Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
How about you?
Saturday we had 2 soccer games. Alyce was at 9 and Kat was at 1 in another town. At least they were far apart in times.
It was cold.
Me and Leecy after coaching her game.
If you haven’t had a chance to see 4 year olds play soccer (mom that’s a hint to come to Alyce’s next game!), I highly recommend it. It is so much fun. My co-coach (I decided I liked that better than calling her my assistant coach because she rocks) has been on the field the first two games, so we decided I would go out and do it this time.
I was so proud of my girls. I had 3 that were completely on fire, scoring goals left and right. Leecy was out there kicking the ball, running after it, right in the middle of it all. One of my other girls is coming out of her shell and getting out there. And one is still really shy.
She is such a doll.
She’s my co-coach’s daughter.
We finally got her out on the field at the very end, but only if I promised to hold her hand. I did. We’d run over to where the ball was, and I’m all kick it, and she’d kick it and it would go a bit. So sticking cute!
We won.
It was awesome!
Then we headed over to watch my nephew’s game, he was just a field over.
There’s Leecy and Carter. She’s not THAT much taller than him, you’ll notice he is leaning on his ball. Leecy is 3 months older than him, but Christiano claims him as his best friend.
I’m so glad all of our cousins get along so well.
After all that was done, I had a headache forming, we came home, I laid down and Pato took Katiana to her game where she made 2 goals. She rocks like that.
Then off to my niece Cambria’s birthday party.
Isn’t she beautiful? My brother’s kids all look so much alike when they are this age. She reminds me of both Taylor and Carter when they were babies.
She’s 2 now.
Do I still get to call her a baby?
This little man my friends is our newest addition to the family. Little Aiden, my sister Abby’s son. He’s so stinking cute. He was all laughing at Aunt Heather. He loves me like that.
Wide-eyed boy.
There he is with his proud daddy.
Let me start these next pictures with, my family is so strange.
Ok, so I kicked off the strangeness.
Then mom joined in.
Then Josh got in on the action. He wasn’t cool enough to put the wig UNDER his hat like I did.
Then Aiden’s big sister Kayla got in on it. Don’t ask me what happened with the brightness on this shot. These are all from my phone.
Ok, so my niece Taylor wouldn’t put the wig on, but she totally got into surfing the net on her sister’s new laptop.
Loving that feather in her hair. I got a bunch off of Ebay (140) and split them with my sister in law. Everyone in my family now is wearing various feathers. Fun fun!
After that, I went out to Biaggi’s with my friend Danielle, and then we hit a couple of bars downtown and met up with our friend Brian, who I haven’t seen in years. It was too much fun!!!!
We hit the former Blues on Grand, which is now the Gas Lamp. Loved it! It wasn’t a bunch of 21 year old hoochies trying to get some. People danced but it was more dancing with abandon, the way I like to dance. You know, dance like nobody is watching.
Then we went to Beechwood Lounge but I had to stop and take a picture of Casper’s wife.
One of the many sculptures in downtown Des Moines now. While lots of downtown areas are sadly neglected and falling apart, Des Moines is thriving. We went through our stage when it was falling apart and central Iowans said, enough! Downtown is so cool now.
After hanging, I came back home and promptly forgot to set my alarm for church. Missed that. Jordan had his game at 1. I got him there at 12:45, then ran and got the kids lunch.
Came back at 1:15 and he comes ambling out of the ky-bo. He threw up and didn’t bother to tell his coach we were there. Fabulous, right?
He’s not sick.
A dose of Miralax clears that right up.
So, he missed his game.
Then off to Kat’s soccer practice.
Kat’s in the pink right behind the goal.
Then home to relax after a very busy weekend.
Tonight is goalie practice for Jordan, tomorrow is Jordan and Alyce’s soccer practice, Wednesday night church, and then Thursday I finally get an evening home to relax.
Friday is soccer practice for Jordan again.
Then we start it all over again with 3 weekend games.
I’d say I can’t wait for winter, but, Jordan plays soccer year round, and he’s starting basketball at the Y next month, plus the girls want to get into ballet (Alyce) and gymnastics (Kat).
I don’t suppose Christiano would be content to just not be in anything, do you?
I didn’t think so. Not with the fact that my 2 year old can drop kick the ball (goalie style) better than my 7 year old. He’s already started practicing with Alyce’s team.
Have a great day!
