How exciting is that? I have a HUGE stack in my kitchen of clothes we’ve worn since moving in, clothes that I was trying to save from the fire, blankets, etc.
The hot water shut off valve was leaking so we couldn’t hook up that until the valve was replaced. My dryer was an electric dryer and the hook up here was a gas hook up.
We had to wait until Pato’s day off so he could help my dad get it all done.
That was yesterday.
The spent the entire afternoon and into the evening doing that.
I was disgusted at one point. My dryer has been in the garage for 6 years. I bought them new and only used them for a year before we moved into the apartment and had to store them.
When Pato turned on the dryer a whole bunch of fuzz came out of the vent. My dad turned it off and turned it back on. Out shot a petrified mouse.
I wanted to vomit.
Not the first dead mouse I have found since going through my stuff from the garage. I’ll be honest, I threw away two boxes of clothes because of it. I wouldn’t even dig further down. Garbage.
There was one in my washer too.
I guess when you have stuff in a garage for 6 years, never using it, that’s what happens.
I’m really glad my garage was really far away from my apartment. No mice in there.
I was so nervous about turning on my washer and dryer. Like I said, I only used them for 1 year but they had been sitting there unused for 6 years.
Would they work.
Yes they did.
I’ve done 4 loads since they got hooked up at 9 last night.
So happy.
Pato was too.
He doesn’t have to go to the laundromat any more to wash his work clothes.
On the Zuleica front, she is working out great. We just left her alone and she started coming to us. She is now following me around just like Junie does. I have an appointment to get her spayed on April 11. I was supposed to get another Chinese Crested the first weekend of April. A guy in the AF reserves has him and spynx cats. I guess Jasper (the dog) is too hyper for his mama cat. He is going to bring him to me next time he has reserves. The Chihuahua was kind of a surprise. Definitely wasn’t expecting that and Jasper isn’t neutered. I don’t need little Ch-cresteds. Too many unwanted dogs in this world as it is. I don’t need to add to that population.
My aunt asked me how I take care of 4 kids and pets.
It’s easy.
I cook bird bread for the birds once a week, feed and water them in the morning, change their papers. The budgies are really low maintenance because they want to hang out with their flock. They don’t want out to hang out with us. The 2 lovebirds are easy too. We let them out a few times a day to fly and hang out with us, get some exercise, etc.
The 2 dogs go out on leashes at the same time. No extra work there. In fact, Suki has given Junie a reason to step away from me for a bit. They go off and play for 20 minutes or so together a few times a day.
A couple of times a day I sweep up the feathers and millet under the cages but I have to sweep the kitchen floor a few times a day anyway, thanks to small children.
Do I want more after Jasper gets here? No.
That’s it.
No more tugging on heart strings because ribs are showing (Suki is really really thin. If you look at her from a diagonal, you can see her ribs.) No more begging from my children. That’s the limit.
If someone could help reinforce to Jordan that he is not getting a mouse that would be awesome. He thinks if he keeps asking he’ll wear me down. Nope, no mice, rodents, reptiles, etc. No cat, no more birds, nada darling.
Have a great day!
