Last night, instead of staying home with the kids and waiting for Pato to rush in the door 5 minutes before midnight like I always do, I went to my brother’s. It was my family (minus Pato), my brother Steve and his girls, his friend Steve, who we’ve known since the guys were in high school, Steve’s daughter, and my brother Josh and his family.
Shelley made awesome food, which we devoured AS she made it…sorry no pictures of Shelley’s cooking. I want to be Shelley when I grow up…except I’m older than her.
The kids had a blast playing with their cousins instead of sitting home watching me watching Dick Clark’s countdown. I’ve got a boatload of pictures I edited – and this is just a small bit of the ones I took. I went a little nutty with the camera last night.
Leecy and my niece, Cambria in Cambria’s new kitchen she got for Christmas.
Katiana
My niece Taylor and her iPod she got for Christmas – she can text me now.
I set up text free for her and she is in heaven….not cuz she can text her aunt…cuz she can text her friends. I’m just a bonus.
My brother Josh
Jordan with his PSP that he got for Christmas from his dad.
Taylor and I – I LOVE this picture of us. I don’t think we’ve had a picture of just us since I held her as a baby. Now she is almost as tall as I am. I’m 5’4”, that’s not saying a lot I guess. (tee hee)
My sister in law, Shelley, and me.
My guy, Carter (nephew)
Taylor and Jordan doing Michael Jackson The Experience Wii game. Got to say, that’s kind of awesome and my kids want that game now.
Katiana and Leecy
My niece Jadah
Nano loves Carter’s toys.
and Aunt Shelley’s beads
my brother Steve
Jordan, Taylor, and my niece Syd.
Taylor, (poor) Sydney (whose facial expression cracks me up here), and me.
Steve and Steve – I was trying to get Steve’s (my brother’s friend) attention and I kept saying Steven + his last name and he didn’t hear me. Finally I said, hey Steve whose not my brother! He said, you could just call me Steve + his last name. I tried that.
My mom is going to love this picture. Me and 2 of my favorite guys – my little brothers – who I have to look up to now.
Yep, I have my Eclipse shirt on. Know why? Cuz now that my niece can text she keeps signing her texts with Vampires suck, wolves are hot. I was like, yeah, but Edward sparkles. I wore it just for her. Then Jordan put his Hawkeye jersey on because he thought that would annoy me. Nope, not at all. I root for the Cyclones when they play the Hawkeyes, but I root for any Iowa team when they are playing an out of state team. Takes more than that to annoy me son.
We had fun. I did the splits. Shelley, Syd, Taylor, and I did tripods. (You know where you put your head on the ground and put your knees on top of your elbows and balance?) Shelley got up in a headstand for 2 seconds. I didn’t even try. Sydney did back walkovers, Taylor did some TaeKwonDo. The boys watched Spartacus. It was all good.
I left at about 11:15 since it was amateur night and I wanted to beat all the drunks home. We made it -
me …slightly windblown from the blizzard like winds outside. Now my Facebook profile picture because some of my friends seem to like the messed up me. It reminds me of a bad Flashdance hairstyle.
I hope you had a wonderful new year’s eve and a beautiful beginning to 2011!
Mine was a great New Year’s Eve – my husband didn’t make it home until 2 because he had a few too many drinks at work and he had to wait for his boss to drive him home. Wasn’t thrilled about that or the hangover he’s sleeping off now, but what do you do?
Have a great day!
(I’ve got to get a recap of the year done. Think I’ll get 3 posts up in one day? Maybe 4 – I am determined to do Project 365 this year and make it farther than I did laster year. Fingers crossed! Katiana said she’d do it with me this year!)
P.S. If anyone knows of any good birthday gifts for men, toss the ideas at me. Those guys in the picture with me both have birthdays coming up, 2 weeks apart from each other, and they are both so hard to shop for!
