Somebody Got His Game Back (Soccer)

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 17 - 2010

Yesterday both kids had soccer games and Jordan has one again today.  I’m not sure exactly what I did to deserve 3 games in one weekend, but I apologize, it will never happen again.

I actually stayed home from Kat’s game because it was chilly in the morning.  I’ve gone to all the freezing games so far while Pato stayed home with the littlest ones, warm and cozy in bed.  It was my turn to not have to stand in the freezing wind.

Then he got my oil changed, cleaned out my car, and looked at a few mobile homes.  He called the bank and asked for a preapproval for one of them, we find out Monday.  I’ll show you it after all the pics from yesterday.

He came home (late) (as usual), (I might have yelled something nicer than, what took you so long?  Did you stop for a colon cleansing or something?)  and I rushed Jordan’s soccer gear out to him and buckled the little ones into the car.  Off we went to his soccer game.

Jordan had his game on once again which was awesome to see.  He actually did a dive.

If you’ve never seen a goalie dive, watch this kid in action and you’ll get an idea what Jordan did.  We were SOOOO proud of him.  He didn’t get the height this kid does, but he left the ground and landed on his hips, making my hips ache a little for him.

It was pretty awesome!  He had 2 goals scored on him, but not for lack of trying.  His heart was in the game yesterday.  The first goal, he kept yelling to one of his defenders to get out of his way, he was crowding Jordan. He didn’t move, Jordan had to maneuver around him, then jump, and he just missed it by a bit.  His coach said if that happens again, just push the kid out of his way.

Can you get a foul pushing your own teammate?

Just wondering?

The other one was a penalty kick.  Just the kicker and Jordan.  Those always make me so nervous for him.  He almost had it, but he should have dived and he tried just dropping to his knees, it bounced and went in.

He knows he played really well yesterday.  Even professional goalies get scored on, that’s why someone always wins.  :)

I was really really proud of him.

So was Pato.

I was amazed he played that well when he had his first sleepover/birthday party (non-family) Friday night.  Know what time they went to bed?  6.

In the morning.

I don’t know about the average mom, but if I had 5 – 11 year old boys in my house spending the night, there is no way on God’s great Earth I would go to sleep if they were all up still.

No way.

On God’s Great Earth.

Some pics from yesterday -

He’s actually playing defender here.  He played goalie second half of the game and they were ALLLLLLL the way on the other side of the field.  Not great for pictures.  Jordan is #19.

Playing defender still

Daddy and the other 3

This next group of pictures I would like to call – soccer fell right at nap time and someone was throwing a tantrum the whole time.

Nu-uh

He wanted the soccer ball.  He didn’t want to share it.  The girls and Pato wanted to play too.

He threw a fit.

Finally he has the ball all to himself.

After the game, we went to a Chinese restaurant to eat.  It wasn’t my favorite, but it was ok.  Kids behaved.  All was good.  I just about died when this kid got up from the next table and yelled, mom!  I have to go poop!  Then I’ll eat.

He was probably 8.

He should have known better.

The kids at the table were all over the place as the women with them enjoyed the meal.  They almost broke the swinging arm off a gold cat sitting by the register.

I looked at my kids…..so help me God, if you ever……

Jordan – I know, I know, if we ever act like those snots, we’ll be in tons of trouble and never go out to eat again.

Glad I’ve made myself clear ……. a few times.

I like to use situations around us a learning tools. :)

On to the mobile home.  I know we were looking at a house house, but Pato is still working on building his credit. (Remember he’s not from the U.S., when he first got here, he just worked and slept.  His rented house and old car were good for him.  It’s been in the last couple of years that he’s been actively working on it.)

We’re hoping with a smaller loan that we’ll qualify easier.  I am dying for Monday to get here.

Here’s the description of it -

2000 Skyline modular home for sale on a nice cul-de-sac in a quiet, kid friendly neighborhood. The home is approximately 1,900 square feet with a wide open floor plan. The kitchen is the best part of the home, it is huge and has plenty of storage with new wood laminate flooring. The laminate flooring continues into the laundry room off the kitchen with a washer and dryer, which will stay with the house. There is a eat in kitchen as well as a formal dining area in the home. The den is in the front of the house which is big enough to be a 4th bedroom or remain as an office, etc. There are two full bathrooms and the master has his and her sinks as well as a big jazzuzi tub and a stand up shower. There is plenty of closet space in all of the bedrooms and additional closets for storage throughout the house. The floor plan is very wide open. There are a total of 3 bedrooms in the house, not including the den. I am the second owner of this home and it has been great for my family. The house is very efficient with cheap utilities for the size of the house. The lot is one of the biggest in the area and it is pie shaped so plenty of room for a garage if you wish to build one. There is a shed outside for storage that will be staying with the house. I also have a hot tub that will be sold with the home that just needs to be hooked up to a 220. I have lowered the price on this home almost 10,000 and it is well worth the money. Schools in our school district are great and growing, the bus picks up right on the corner. Great affordable starter home!

LOVE the kitchen.  Do you see that?  Flat top stove!  Never had one, but always wanted one.

Those are the pictures from the listing, not mine.

Do you see how nice and bright and light is in there?  My birds would be in heaven!  I wouldn’t have to keep rearranging things to give them sunlight.  In our apartment there is one window in each room, minus the living room which has the sliding glass door.  We use a lot of lamps.  I hate how it isn’t sunny in here.

The only thing missing is a garage.  We asked the guy if he would be willing to go lower because there is a comparable house in another district for $15,000 less and it has a 2 1/2 car garage.  (He doesn’t know how much I want to stay in our school district.)  He said he would think about it, that he’d already lowered the price $10,000.  I know this ad has been running since the beginning of September at least.  I’m hoping he’ll come down a little at least.  If he does, we can put up the garage.  Pato asked yesterday and was told it was about $5000 to build a garage for the mobile homes.

I’m hoping, hoping, hoping, this works so we can turn in our notice with our November rent and be out of here by December first.  Wouldn’t it be nice to celebrate Christmas not living in this apartment that we have grown to hate?

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

I have to go get ready for Kat’s special practice and Jordan’s game today.

Have a great day!
