Jordan’s soccer game was yucky yesterday. It was sprinkling out – just a constant mist on us. It was nice and cold. So we were wet and miserable. By halftime, the girls were coughing really bad and I took the youngest 3 to the car. They won the game, but Jordan’s scoreless goalie streak is over. He got scored on once.
He blamed me. I grabbed a pair of jogging pants and we didn’t realize they had a hole in the crotch until we were halfway there. He wouldn’t dive because of it.
My fault.
I’ll sew up the crotch of his pants for next game.
After the game we met Pato at Wal-Mart and Alyce graduated to a booster. She’s 3 1/2 and been in a 5 pt harness this whole time. I figured it was safer….at least until I couldn’t buckle the bottom yesterday when she was in her coat. I called Pato and said I can’t stretch the straps out any farther and this isn’t safe. I can’t buckle her.
She was so happy! She feels like a big girl in the backseat in her booster just like Katiana’s.
This is the one we got her but in pink because everything has to be pink –

I also bought a scale finally to follow any weight loss that might occur since I’m actively trying – 2nd day yesterday and I had a slight set back when Pato brought home Taco Bell after work.
Oh well, today is a new day.
I had a couple of people suggest couch to 5K when I talked about running with Jordan (which we haven’t started yet, I decided I am not starting until my dot goes away). I’m miserable and I’d rather not be miserable and starting a new exercise program. By the time I get started, it’ll snow.
I found out that we can get a membership to a new gym over here for free. Some deal they have worked out with our apartment complex. Finally a perk. I need to go sign us up for that. First I need to figure out which gym it is. I lost the paper.
Oops.
It’s icky out again right now. Not quite raining, not quite not. Jordan has his cross country mile tonight that he signed up for. Wish him luck. All I care is that he finishes. I’m sure I’ll be in tears again as he crosses the finish line again.
I’m so proud that he signed up for it again.
He drives me crazy but he really is a wonderful kid with such a good heart.
Who is now becoming a teenager.
I won’t share the things he has shared with me lately, but can I just say, I was never a teenage boy, and I never went through these things, and while it’s awesome that my son feels he can tell me ANYTHING, half of me is saying, Jordan…really? Must you share this with your mother? You have 2 dads. You can tell them all about it.
All right, I’m off to get stuff done!
Have a great day!

Oh don’t you just love the life of a soccer Mom! I swear it rained at every single one of my Girls games:) Glad your babe scored a goal….helps you through the torturous weather!
You mentioned the 5K…we were there and so proud of Jordan finishing, not to mention going through with even doing the run when he wanted to back out. Yay Jordan!!! There were some girls (7 – 10 of them) cheering the kids on.
They cheered Jordan and it was sooooo cool. He couldn’t understand how they knew his name, but it got him trying to run again. He was so tuckered out by then he just wanted to lay down, I’m sure. You ROCK, Jordan!

And Heather, you instilled in him the ‘finish what you start’, so you ROCK, too!
