Last Day Of Summer

Posted by Heather Manning On August - 24 - 2010

Vacation that is.  I’m kind of sad.  This happens every year. I look back and say where did the time go?  It flew.  I still have to get Katiana tennis shoes.  Pato said we’d get them in Ohio and didn’t.  She got a new dress for school, which she already had tons of.

You see, Juliana had on this dress from Justice that Katiana decided that she absolutely must have.  So, Pato got it.  It’s not my favorite dress she’s ever picked out.

Justice is my favorite store to shop at for her and normally I love almost everything in the store, but I’m just not a fan of blue and neon green – together.  Blech.

There’s just something about this seasons clothes that I’m not a big fan of – anywhere.  When we went shopping for her this year, I was really suprised.  I normally have trouble restraining myself, this time, I had trouble finding things.  It’s the colors and the styles that I am not digging.  There was a lot of pastels, grays, and tiered ruffles.  I guess that’s good for my little girly girl who wanted everything, but not for me.  I love being girly, but in bold colors without ruffles – or lace.  :)

I also have to go get them cleats today.  (See what happens when you take a last minute vacation?)  Soccer starts tonight for both of them.  At the same time.  At 2 different locations.  You tell me how I’m going to work that one?  I think I’m going to have to drop Jordan off at 5:45, run Kat over to hers, wait, then run over and pick up Jordan.  His is an hour, her’s 1/2 hour.

It seems that every season it gets busier and busier.  Jordan has practice 2 times a week most times and 3 times a couple of times.  He has a game every weekend, one weekend he has 2 games if that’s not crazy.  Katiana moved up a division so she has the same number of games as Jordan does this season, but thankfully just one practice a week.  I’m not looking forward to having all 4 kids in soccer in the future.  Hopefully at that point, Pato will finally have opened his own restaurant and he can take time off to help get kids to soccer practices.  I can always hope.  Otherwise my mom is going to be put to work.  (Can you here her laughing at me as she gets this blog update in her email.)

Speaking of soccer, Katiana is so excited.  At open house last night she found out that out of the 6 girls (including herself) on the soccer game, there is not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 of the girls in her class.  That poor teacher.  These 5 giggling girls who have trouble concentrating on the game when there are important things to discuss.  No for real though, she will have a blast.  They are all good girls.  The teacher will have fun with them.

Jordan was big man on campus last night.  He’s the oldest now at school.  Literally.  :)   5th grader.  Plus, I put him in PreK at 5 instead of kindergarten, he’s literally the oldest in his class (by a year).  He walked around like he owned the place.  Stopped at every single teacher he has ever had to talk about life, tell them about camp, it took forever.  But it was fine.  He’s feeling so much more comfortable since the kids that he has had problems with since kindergarten moved up to the middle school this year.  Here’s to no problems and Jordan having an awesome happy year!  I’m really looking forward to him not riding the bus with those other boys this year.  I think there is only one boy on the bus who he has had problems with and with that boy’s cousins not riding the bus, maybe he’ll back off.

When I went through my blog post yesterday about our vacation, I left out the things that grandma brought up from Mexico for us.

I took the picture with my phone because I’m feeling to lazy to get my camera out, then take the picture, then take the card out, put it in the card reader, etc.  It would take me almost as long as it took me to complain about doing it. :)

Pato’s sister has a store in Mexico that she sells silver out of.  Our presents are always jewelry. Which for me is perfect.  The purple necklace and earrings on the side are Katiana’s.  The charm and earrings are angels with an amethyst in it.  The rosary with the beads is Katiana’s also.  The big ol’ hoops are mine and I <3 them so.  They are my new favorite pair of earrings.  The bracelet in the middle is a lucky bracelet.  It has all the symbols of luck, including an elephant (which my mom collects).  That’s for her.  We were buying it from his mom, but she said it was her gift to my mom.  The turquoise earrings and pendent is mine.  The little silver hoops above it are Alyce’s.  The red necklace and the little post earrings are Alyce’s and they have mickey mouse in it.  (Kari would love those!)  The little silver bangle and silver rosary bracelet are both Alyce’s.  I’m missing another pair of hoops for Katiana, I think they are in the car.  I also am missing Jordan’s necklace.  It’s like the girls on a fabric chain, but it has a silver soccer ball on it.  I’m going to take the soccer ball off of the chain and put it on his necklace with the soccer jersey on it that I got him for his birthday (it is engraved with his name and number).  The necklace that he got from grandma in Mexico is really too small for him, it’ll work on his other necklace.  Then, I’ll put something on the other necklace for Christiano who didn’t get anything from Mexico, but grandma is going to look for an id bracelet in his size and send it up.

I talked to his mom about Yudy (Pato’s other sister) and I starting a store online with her silver.  I think it would work.  She agreed.  We’ll see if anything comes of it.

Did I mention that I got a letter from management after they inspected again while we were gone?  Yeah, our apartment is fine now.  I told her it was because I was sick and no one would help me.  Stupid people.  Looking for a house people, looking for a house.  The cons are outweighing the benefits of apartment living at this point.

I need to go get my birds but I can’t until Wed.  Pato is off and I need him here to watch the kids.  All of the cages won’t fit in the car with my kids in it.  I miss them.  I cannot wait to see Twinkle and Woodstock!

I’m off to do the dishes.  Yippie!  Not really.

Have a great day!
