I about had a heart attack yesterday.
I took off all of my rings while I was playing with Twinkle because she likes to chew on the stones. I don’t want her to pull one loose and lose one or have her choking on one.
Sat them on my desk under my monitor and kind of forgot I took them off.
Until Christiano came up to me and popped 2 of my rings out of his mouth. AGH! I started panicking and searching for the rest of them. He had my my blue topaz that’s in the shape of a daisy ring and another ring that I had made when I worked in the jewelry store I managed. Where are the other 4? More importantly, where are my engagement ring and wedding band. The kids and I were searching. I found my little heart pink tourmaline ring under the wheel of my computer chair. Jordan found my 2 ct blue topaz that I had made for me back in the jewelry store days. That was in a flower pot on the porch.
Oh yeah, we’d gone out to the porch and played for a bit.
Child scattered my rings everywhere.
I was just about in tears because the 2 most important ones were still missing. These 2 –
That was back before I failed project 365. There’s always next year right?
They aren’t the biggest or the most expensive but I adore them. At that time we struggled to get those. My wedding band actually has pink sapphires in it instead of the traditional diamonds. Tears I tell you tears.
I could not find a flash light to search the porch, so I took my cell phone out there looking. My engagement ring was UNDER the grill.
1 down. 1 more to find.
I called Pato, panicking. He said did you check in his diaper? No. I didn’t. Checked his diaper. No ring. And no other surprises. That totally would have been my luck.
He got home and he and I were searching. I finally grabbed 5 – $1 bills out of my wallet and put a $5 reward out for the return of my ring. That enticed the kids to get down to business.
Katiana found my ring about 1 minute after I called out a reward. It was under my desk. All the way in the back. In a little dark corner.
You don’t know how relieved I felt.
Kat is $5 richer.
Here’s the little thief.
That was pre-ring disaster. Ice cream time. See, even here, he stole my vacuum cleaner attachments. Those are always missing. Katiana found them behind the toilet the other day.
Remind me next time I take off my rings to put them UP out of childrens’ reach.
I think I should probably add, thank God he didn’t choke on them. That’s more important than actually finding my rings.
Want to see another cute picture I snapped yesterday? Well, 2 actually.
Sorry for the semi blurry quality. I had to work on these a lot with post processing because I had to crop in so close to be able to see her. And, don’t mind my mail sorter on my wall that needs cleaned out or the humongous stack of books on my desk that I need to read and review or my almonds that I keep behind my monitor so my kids won’t eat them all.
These were hard to snap. She doesn’t fly in a straight line. She flies in an arc from point a to point b. That’s why I didn’t zoom in on her when I shot it. I had to try to capture her somewhere in the frame and then crop and fix….kind of fix. It’s better than it was.
I wish I could let the budgies out a couple at a time for flying time. It’s good exercise for them. I’m nervous though that they would never get back in the cage. And since they aren’t tame, they don’t exactly care that I am calling them back to me. I should try by putting a sheet across the kitchen and living room and shutting the rest of the doors. We’ll see. I just feel bad the lovebird gets flying time and the parakeets don’t. They fly in their cage, but it’s not the same as free flight and good exercise.
My sister in law came over yesterday with this shirt for Jordan to wear to Eclipse on Tuesday night.
Notice it says listed in men’s sizes. He’s 11. He’s allowed to wear a Taylor Lautner shirt to the movie.
Shelley even asked if it was a mens’ shirt and they said yes. The girls’ shirts say girly on the tag.
I kind of want to go get this one –
You know, so we have the whole Team Edward/Team Jacob thing covered.
Shelley also got my niece Taylor a pair of earrings, silver circles with a wolf paw print inside. Jordan wants a pair. He just needs one. I’d wear the other one, but I’m Team Edward. Sorry dude. Jordan’s only Team Jacob because it’s opposite of what I am. You know that right? It’s his age.
Alright. Everyone is sleeping still, so I’m going to go get some stuff down and enjoy the quiet.
Have a great day!
