I haven’t blogged yet today because the kids had dentist appointments this morning and it was go go go all morning.
Let me start this out by saying at 2 in the morning I was talking to Pato and told him that I was worried about my mom. I don’t know why. I just was.
When we left the dentist I had two missed calls. One from my sister and one from a number I didn’t know. I skipped ahead to my sister’s message and she had wondered if I had talked to dad. I hung up and called her, not listening to the message that was from the number I didn’t know.
She had talked to my dad and he told her my mom was taking by ambulance to the ER at 3 or so in the morning. They think it’s her gall bladder, but aren’t sure. They are running a bunch of tests right now.
I hung up with her and listened to the other message, from my dad, telling me essentially the same thing Abby did.
Called my dad and asked if we could come up. He said he didn’t think the hospital allowed visitors. I asked if mom was in the ICU? No. I love you dad, but you’re Full O’ It. I understand if you don’t want all 4 of my kids up there when you haven’t had much sleep, but no excuses please.
My mom reads my blog, so, just in case I don’t remember to tell you this when I do see you, next time your taken by ambulance to the hospital, don’t wait 7 hours to call me. Love you!
Anyways, say a prayer for my mom. Send out some healing thoughts this way.
If you’d like to leave her some get well wishes, her blog is here. I know they’d tickle her pink.
Pato said he’d be home at 2 or so. He’ll watch the kids while I run up there on his break. Thank you honey!
The dentist appointment went well. Well, as well as can be considering Alyce hates anyone that isn’t family. And she really hates anyone touching her that isn’t family. And Christiano is following in her footsteps. Sigh
Actually, Kat and Jordan did well.
Christiano is a little behind getting his teeth. He’s got 7 at 15 months.
Alyce is a vigorous thumb sucker, causing her to have a cross bite that’s getting pretty bad already. I knew that. She has a really bad lisp too.
The dentist said at her age, the only thing I can do is to encourage other things besides sucking the thumb for comfort. At 4 they can fix the cross bite, but she said Alyce will be nowhere near ready for it when she turns 4. Not with the way I had to hold her down while she fought and screamed and kicked and bit (a little).
Christiano totally didn’t appreciate having his teeth cleaned and counted. Come on, you have 7 teeth, it doesn’t take long.
Kat had a tiny cavity, but they are just going to watch it. It’s in a tooth she should lose at 8 (she hasn’t lost any yet at 6). Other than that, she looked great.
Jordan. Jordan Jordan Jordan Jordan. How this child manages to escape cavities every time is beyond me. He’s 11 years old. Should I really have to hold him down to brush his teeth? That’s what is going to start happening if he doesn’t start brushing better. No cavities but they spent a LONG time cleaning and scraping his teeth, his gums bleeding all over. Katiana, Alyce, and Christiano were all done by the time the lady was done cleaning Jordan’s teeth and the dentist was able to see him.
Lovely.
Why is it my one who LOVES to brush her teeth has issues and the one who never brushes his teeth gets a clean bill of health but you really should brush a little better honey. A little better? You could have a used a jackhammer to clean his teeth.
He thinks false teeth are cool. His dad had to have his teeth pulled and has dentures now. Jordan thinks it’s the coolest thing ever that his dad can take his teeth out of his mouth.
I’m so proud.
All right, I’ve got stuff today, just wanted to ask for prayers for my mom.
Have a great day!

Sending many good thoughts your mom’s way!
very cute…my son was the same way. He was sucking his thumb in the ultra-sound and all the way until he was 3. Then we had to buy him a glove to stop thumb sucking because it was stopping his chin development…it was really bad, but the gloves did help him…http://endthumbsucking.com (they’re giving away a glove this month)
Your mom and the entire family shall be in our thoughts and prayers, take care!
My mom had a “procedure” a couple years ago and she didn’t tell any of us. When my brother and sister found out they made light of it being called a “PROCEDURE” (because it totally was more than that.) She didn’t even tell me until my dad called and then (SURPRISE) put her on the phone. Now we laugh about it. I guess parents don’t want us to worry
Hope your mom is better!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
