of this season at least. The kids are both registered and ready to go for fall soccer.
We have a tradition with Katiana before every game. We ask her how many goals she’s going to make (a realistic number). She gives us a number. It actually seems to help for her to have a specific goal when she goes out there (vs not having one and running in circles). Usually she says 1 or 2. Yesterday on the way to the game I asked her and she said, 3. Three. You go out there and get it done chicky poo.
She had 3 before half time. Woot woot Katiana. She turned to me from the center line and said, mom! I’m going to make 4. Everyone laughed. She almost did it too. She was right there, the ball was almost in, when an excellent player on the other team got to the goal and kicked it out just before it went in.
You’ll notice in the pictures probably that Kat changed 3 times during the game. First she put on Alyce’s jacket, then decided she wanted her sweatshirt back on, then decided to go with just the jersey. Choices people choices. Every game is a fashion statement. (Actually, it makes me giggle. There is one girl on a different team who wears a skirt to every game. Yesterday I saw her on the field behind us. She had a green jersey, black leggins, and a pink skirt on. I just thought, she has got to be more difficult than Kat is to get dressed.
If she has school it is a battle to get her to wear anything but dresses and skirts. And if it’s a plain t-shirt or sweatshirt, forget it. It’s not pretty enough for her to wear.)
Alyce – in Kat’s sweatshirt
2 of my guys – not sure what Nano is worried about here.
My other guy, Jordan
Katiana and her BFF. They are playing! Not holding hands. Not chatting about boys. Playing!
Couldn’t resist playing with this picture of Pato and Nano
Katiana going to keep the ball from going on and trying to keep it from the other team. (In her sweatshirt now, we changed and changed and changed again.)
Half time huddle
Alyce is now in her jacket that Kat put on originally. This is what Nano does when he wants to give you something. If you’re close to his height, blocking your face is a good option.
kicking the ball
Good game, good game, good game, good game
Team picture of our little champions – ok, so all the kids get medals, participation and all that. But, I think we only lost 1 game this season. Woot woot!
Christiano is cracking me up. He’s got a new phrase. He’s walking around the house saying, I DID IT! You did it? Yeah. All nodding his head. He is hilarious.
Pato took the girls and Nano to the Knoxville Raceway to see the races last night. I am not a big race person so I stayed home. I lie. I went to the casino. By myself. Needed some get away time. I was only gone for a couple of hours and beat them home. When they got here, Alyce had her plastic wrist band on and told me she wanted me to take it off of her.
Go get me the scissors.
*gasp* No mom! It’s new! Someone gave it to me. Today. It’s new! You can’t rip it.
Daddy managed to get her wrist band off so she could cherish it for another day.
Jordan’s got a game today so I’m off to get ready for that.
Have a great day!
