Ok, starting from the left –

I may have kind of sort of stolen this picture of my mom’s blog. I worked for it though. The picture she had up hadn’t had any post-processing done to it, so I fixed it, readded it to her blog, and thought I’d share it over here too. She’s got my family’s picture and my sister’s up also, but I haven’t worked with those yet. I hate the one of me, though the rest of my family looks good. I want to look at all of the choices of my family again and decide which one we want to order. Don’t get upset about copyright issues. My mom’s best friend’s husband took the pictures and he said we could put them on our blogs. 
What I want to know is why my siblings are all slim and trim and I struggle so much with my weight. You can’t even tell I had a breast reduction 10 years ago. I’ve nursed 3 kids since then and they grew back. Not that you wanted to know that, but it’s my blog and I’ll complain if I want to.
All in all though, we’re pretty lucky. I love being part of such a big family. The kids always have someone to play with near their age when we get together. I’m lucky because I get along with both Angie and Shelley really well and my sister and my mom are my best friends. My brothers are pretty cool too.
My brothers’ families left to go on a duo-vacation the other day. They are hitting Disney World. They were at the Magic Kingdom yesterday. My phone rang. It was my brother Steve. Totally unexpected. He had just called to tell me he loved me. He never does that. See, they are pretty cool ….. for boys….. oh wait, I’m not 13 anymore.
We couldn’t go on the vacation because a – we weren’t asked b – we don’t have extra money to go to Disney World if we are actually going to make it up to Ohio this summer when Pato’s mom comes up from Mexico. (If Pato’s mom comes up from Mexico. I’m hoping we don’t have a repeat of last summer where she was going to come up in May, then June, then July, and finally showed up in Ohio in late August right before my kids go to school. I wasn’t going to have Katiana miss her first day of kindergarten. I’m pretty strict about my kids missing school, another reason I wouldn’t have gone if we’d been asked. I don’t want my kids to miss anything, even though they only have until June 4. They have to be running a fever or puking their guts out to get out of going. I know all the tricks, Jordan. I hated going to school.) No joke, she’s been in the states every single year since I’ve known Pato yet has only seen Katiana twice, the last time when she was one. She hasn’t even met Alyce and Christiano yet. We get complained to a lot about that, but I figure airplanes fly just as easily to Des Moines as they do to Columbus. Not my fault. I also get yelled at a lot for not sending pictures. I don’t even print out my own pictures. They are all on my computer and backed up to my EHD. I print my scrapbook pages out into hardbound books via Artscow. I send tons of pictures down via email to his sister Viviana. Not the same though. His mom doesn’t want to see them in the computer lab. She wants actual pictures. Sorry! I also get yelled at quite a bit for the fact that my kids don’t speak Spanish. They understand most things said to them in Spanish, but they respond in English. I’m supposed to only talk to them in Spanish she says. I say, sorry, my kids live in the US. Spanish is excellent to know and I do want them to speak it fluently, but learning English is more important to me. If we lived in Mexico, it would be the other way around. There’s actually a whole list of things I get in trouble for, this post would be very very very long if I went into all of them.
Jordan is all excited because he gets to go visit the capital building today. He’s got his camera and he’s ready to go.
That’s the capital with it’s newly refinished gold dome. It’s not green anymore!
Aw, Christiano just came over to give me a kiss. I think that means that it’s Mommy time.
