Yesterday just felt way too busy and it was emphasized I think by Christiano’s foul mood. We started out at Kat’s soccer game where she made 2 goals. That’s a record for her! She’s now made a goal every game this season. I think she’s getting the hang of this whole soccer thing.
Kat’s in the middle.
Hanging out with one of her coaches and his daughters while she was out. Yes, it was windy and cold and yes, she refused to wear her jacket. Choose your battles I say. I’ve mentioned before that we play in the middle of corn fields. There is your proof. Welcome to Iowa.
Alyce coloring. I just about had a conniption fit when I saw she had grabbed a permanent marker from home to color with.
Can you see the ticked off at the world-ness in his face?
Let me tell you. I could not do anything to make that boy happy. I started out with him in our ERGObaby carrier and he was content until he saw Alyce was coloring. He wanted to color. There is no way I’m letting him color with a permanent marker. He was arching his back and carrying on. I let him down. He proceeded to throw himself all over Alyce, upsetting her. Then he takes off for the field. He wanted to go out and play with Kat. I brought him back to me. Ok, if he can’t play with Kat, he’ll play with the boys who are in the middle of the game behind us. Brought him back…..50 times….I swear. Finally I just carried him where he was attempting to fling himself out of my arms. Screaming. Throwing a tantrum like I have never seen him throw before. I lie. It was similar to the one where I tried to put him to bed without nursing him. Only this time everyone and their mothers were staring at us. I walked him over to a field that was empty where he threw himself down and carried on a bit more. Then tried to get up and go back to Kat’s game. He was determined to join her team. I was beyond frustrated. I knew he was tired. Her game fell right at naptime. He was so tired.
After Kat’s game was over, we got back in the car to go to Jordan’s game. Christiano screamed for a few minutes then went to sleep. Pato was already at Jordan’s game because it had started at 1. We got there about 10 minutes before halftime. I managed to get Christiano out of the car seat and back into the carrier without waking him up. He stayed asleep the whole game like that. Insert big sigh of relief here.
When I walked up the fields to Jordan’s game, Jordan is moseying to the bathroom. Child was moving slow. I almost went after him and told him to speed it up. When he took his time coming back, I marched my angry butt over and told him to pick up the pace. Pato had told me that when Jordan had field time that he wasn’t moving at all. He was waiting for the ball to come to him and then just kicking it away. Not going after it. Just standing there. I’m sure everyone on our side of the field was quite entertained by my pointing down towards where he was playing, waving my arms in the air in the whole what the heck are you doing out there action, at least they couldn’t hear me over the wind. Nice sweet gentle Heather all amped up from a cranky baby and then watching her son who couldn’t have moved more if he laid down and took a nap on the field. I was ticked.
Jordan’s number 19. That girl, number 27 on the other team? She is a tough little girl. We’ve played her every season since the first and that girl has no qualms about playing with the boys. I LOVE watching her play. She goes at that ball and attacks it, doesn’t matter who is coming at her or who she’s going to take it from. Even Mr soccer man, Pato, was commenting on how good she was. She’s one of 2 girls that play for that team. The other one is really good too, but this one, she’s just awesome!
Pato was upset with Jordan too. This is the first and only game Pato gets to watch Jordan play this season. It’s the only game that fell on a Saturday, when he’s off work. The only time he’s gotten to see Jordan’s improvements. I’ve been bragging about how well Jordan is doing and when Pato, who was so excited to finally get to see him play, goes he sees Jordan moving at a snail’s pace.
The girls were all soccered out.
This next picture is a result of Katiana throwing grass and Christiano’s runny nose. Pato thought it was the funniest thing ever and had to snap a pic. I actually tried to pull it out and he’s like hold on, leave it, leave it. Whips my camera out.
Mean daddy. See how tired that poor little guy was? We put Pato’s hat on him to keep the wind out of his face. The brim was actually over his face except for this one moment when Pato checked on him and saw this blade of grass sticking out of his nose. Poor baby.
After the game Pato wanted to go over to Kia and price the new Borregos. I don’t know how the sales guy was doing his math, but in my head, that car will take an additional 12,000 on to our loan. He’s all talking about flipping and rebates and our trade in – they are willing to give me 11,500 for my Rondo, that was just bought from them a year ago this month. It had 18 miles on it when I drove it off the lot and 8,096 miles when I had it at Kia yesterday. That’s a $6,500 depreciation. Yikes. We’ve paid off $3000 this year, so that leaves us $15K on our loan. The Boreggo Pato was looking was $32,000. $8000 in rebates and customer loyalty credits. That takes us down to $24. Minus the $11500. $12500. Added on to my $15K? $27,500. Where is he getting a $2K remainder at? I’m seeing it as us owing a lot more than we do now and I’m not so willing to do that. Pato says my car isn’t big enough but he’s only in it 1 time a week. I think he should just deal since I like my car and it’s fine for us when Pato is working and not in it.
I’d rather save up, keep our debt to income ratio low and get a house. Thank you darling.
Speaking of apartment living. Sometimes it bites. Pato threw a load of whites in the other evening. He put them in the dryer before he went to bed. When he went to get them in the morning, they were gone. Someone took our whites. I was ticked. All of my nursing bras except for 1 were in there. I have other bras, but when you’re nursing, a nursing bra is a heck of a lot easier than pulling your shoulder strap down and trying to get everything out so baby can nurse.
I went to the casino last night. Pato calls and tells me that they brought back the whites……..and threw them all in the garbage. WTH? I can understand grabbing them accidently. But why the he** would you throw them in the trash. I left a nice note down in the laundry room when I got home last night telling our other neighbors about it.
Jerks.
At least I have my nursing bras back.
Ok, so back to our day. After Kia, the girls and Pato wanted the Chinese buffet we always go to. Bleh. Ok. Off we went. Christiano proceeded to take bites of his food, then open his mouth, let it slide out. Picked some up off his plate, dropped it on the floor. He just was being a pain in the butt. When I stopped him from doing it, he threw a fit that embarrassed me to no end. Thank God we had both cars. I told them to finish eating and Christiano and I came home. I’m not going to subject other people who are trying to have a nice lunch to my son who is in the worst of moods.
I’m glad I never was able to find a sitter last night. Pato and I were going to go to the casino together. I would hate to make someone else try to deal with cranky baby.
He’s normally such a good happy baby, unless you put him in a cart or stroller. I’m not used to him acting like that when we are out and about.
In bed last night, after every one was asleep, Pato and I were talking. I’m wondering if Christiano isn’t teething or going through a growth spurt. He’s 14 months. He’s going to be taller than Alyce if he keeps growing like he does. She’s 3 and he comes up to her chin already. She’s not short.
He’s only got 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 on top. Those all came in at the same time at about 8 months with no other signs of teeth. He’ll probably get them all in at once like he did the other 6. I don’t know but here’s to hoping whatever is bothering him is over quickly.
Today I am planning on a nice relaxing day at home. Maybe take the kids on a walk. Jordan is with his dad until about 4. I need to vacuum the living room, throw their supper dishes from last night in the dishwasher and then we can just play. Hopefully Christiano wakes up on the right side of the bed today.
Have a great day!
