Not Everyone's Mama

I wanted to get Christiano’s hair cut because it was getting long in the back and over the ears.  Mind you he has no thickness at all to his hair, but what he does have is hanging over his collar and almost to the ear lobe on the sides.

I wanted it cut like Pato’s.  What better way to get his hair cut then to send him WITH Pato to the lady who has cut Pato’s hair for YEARS?  Never again.  Never again will I send him to her with Pato.  Men. Stupid hair stylist.

Now, I don’t have good pictures because my camera reader decided to take a crap and I had to order a new one this morning.  So we’re stuck with cell phone pictures until April 1 – 6, whenever the reader gets here.  (That in and of itself ticks me off.  I wanted to scrap his first hair cut.)

I will say, she got the sides right.

That’s the picture Pato sent me after they were done.  My first response was, WTH did you do to my baby?????  I mean seriously, does that look like your hair???  Love the marines, much love to our men in uniform, but did I say to give my baby a high and tight hair cut????  Noooooo.

He didn’t want his hair cut.  So she shaved it.

I don’t care if he didn’t want his hair cut.  What baby WANTS their first hair cut?  I had to hold Jordan with his face pressed into my shoulder as he cried because he didn’t want his first hair cut.  You hold them in place.  You console them.  Heck, you bribe them with a sucker.  You DON’T let the woman shave my baby’s head.

Pato thought he could do something with it when he got home.

*sigh*

On the plus side, Christiano seems to like it.

Never again.

You should see what she did to Jordan’s hair.  I would show you a picture, but he doesn’t want me to take one.

Yep, Jordan decided that he was going to compromise with Pato, who hates long hair.  He wanted to get his hair cut a la Zac Efron here in this picture –

Long in the front and top, shorter in the back, but with a little length left back there.

He walked in.  I just about cried.  Jordan’s got hair like mine without the curls.  It poofs.  She cut all these shot layers in on top, his hair comes way above his eye brows now (I don’t think Zac’s hair is above his eye brows is it?  It’s not like she didn’t have a visual, he took pictures.)  Jordan’s hair has to be cut either really short or leave it long to weigh it down.  She cut it in between so now his hair poofs up like a girl’s.  Even after sending him to the shower and trying to gel it myself into place his hair looked NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING like this hair style.  I’m talking about the hair, not the face.  Jordan’s got a wider face than Zac’s.  The poofiness does nothing but make his face look rounder.  I was so mad.

Pato took them to his hair stylist, which means, if I want to go yell at someone, I have to do it in Spanish.  And while I have a very good grip on the Spanish language, I hate confronting people in it.  I start to stammer and forget my verb conjugation, but I so want to go off.  I’d tell her to fix it, but I don’t want her near my son’s head with scissors again.

I’m taking him over to Cost Cutters today.  The only place I know of open on Sundays.  Maybe they can do something so my son doesn’t look like a girl with his new hair cut.  He doesn’t want me to because we both know they are going to have to cut it shorter to even it out and make it look descent and he doesn’t want it shorter.  It’s not even cut even in the back, nor does it look like what Zac’s back resembles.  It’s like she took the razor and attempted it, but didn’t even come close.  And Jordan’s hair comes right over his ears on the side.  Can you see where Zac’s hair is longer than his ears.  I just want to scream.

I think I could stuff pet beds with how much hair Jordan lost.  His hair is thick like mine and he lost a lot.  Poor kid.

ETA – Never mind, he is adamant about not cutting any more off.  He wants to let it grow until he is able to get that hair style he wants.  I hate that lady.

If you’re in central Iowa, stay far far away from the Mexican hair salon on 86th street up by Mickey’s Irish Pub (the little strip mall where the Mexican store and bakery are also) across from where Wendy’s used to be.  The woman CANNOT cut hair if you want anything other than a standard guys’ style.  If you want something with a little flair she will completely screw it up.

2 kids.  How do you screw up both of their hair.

I asked Pato did you not say something to her after she cut Jordan’s hair about how it looked?  Well, what did you want me to say?  Fix it????  Grow a pair man.
