Project 365 Day 40

Posted by Heather Manning On February - 9 - 2010

Phew.  That was close.  I didn’t think I was going to find anything to take a picture of today that didn’t go with reviews and giveaways that I have coming up.  But, Jordan provided Project 365 Day 40 fodder.

This my dear blog readers is entitled – Jordan getting grounded.

Project365-2010-40

I had told him 3 times to turn off the Wii, his time was up and to get in the kitchen and eat supper.  At this time I’m trying to cook the rest of the quesidillas while holding a cranky baby.

What does any good mom do before she comes in to turn off the Wii?  Grabs her camera of course.

I believe he was saying, just let me save it mom!!!!

Thought You Knew All About Me, Eh?

Posted by Heather Manning On February - 9 - 2010

Laura over at The Girl Next Door Grows Up gave me The Circle of Friends Award.  Waving Hi Laura! Thank you!

I’m supposed to list 5 things about me that aren’t on my about me page. 5 things.  Funny how I come up with so much to blog about usually and when put on the spot, so to say, I can’t think of anything. :)

Let’s see –

1. I have a scar in the shape of a cross on my chest. I was born with hyaline membrane disease. They had to put in tubes to save my life and I was left with my cross on my chest, a reminder that someone was watching over me. Back then, medical treatment wasn’t what it is today and many babies who born with it, died. They took me from Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs, IA and moved me to University Hospital in Omaha, NE to save me.  My mom has told me many times about standing outside the NICU and a nurse telling her, honey, it’s all in God’s hands now.  And so it was, and here I am with 4 kids of my own.

2. I hate feet.  All feet, except for itty bitty baby feet. Other than that, I hate feet. Don’t touch me with them.  It grosses me out.

3. Pato hates ordering for me. Example – he goes to Taco Bell after work, “A number 1 with no lettuce, no tomatoes, no onions on anything.”  I’m a horrible example for my kids.  I try to serve things with lettuce and tomatoes around here, but I won’t touch them.  I’ll gag

4. I love cream of mushroom soup.  I use it as soup alone and as a mixer for just about every casserole I make, in my eggs, in everything.  Good thing my kids do like that.

5.  Though I love them, I only taken 2 baths in 4 years.  I know I know, Heather must stink.  I have to take quick showers.  With Pato’s hours, I can’t soak in a bubble bath.  Too many kids to run around and get into something while I’m attempting to escape from chaos. The 2 baths I have taken?  Both while pregnant, both while trying to get the babies to flip over into a head down position.

Ok, now I get to pick out 5 people for The Circle Of Friends Award.

Here are the rules –

  • Grab the award
  • Post it on your blog
  • Along with 5 things about you
  • Pass to 5 blogs{people} you’d like to recognize.
  • Don’t forget to tell them about the award

Kristine, Andi, Kari, Kim B, and just for fun, we’ll give it to Jordan so he has something to post on his blog. :)

Today is a short post while Nano is sleeping.  Pato let me sleep in, got the kids up and off to school. We slept until 9:30.  Got up.  Christiano was really really cranky.  Nursed him back to sleep, and am trying to catch up on emails and all that jazz while he is down.

When the doctor calls with his stool sample results, I’m going to ask if he’ll see him again.  If Alyce’s cold turned into an ear infection, I want Nano checked again too.  He’s actually more cranky today than he was yesterday.

Mom told me I need to get out the disinfectant she gave me awhile ago.  It’s liquid, you add water, clean everything with that like you would with any spray cleaner.  That would be awesome if I could put Christiano down long enough to do it.  Right now I could be doing it, yes I know.  But, I also have to keep up with my business and check my emails.  I’ve been spraying everything down with Oust, I’ve had tea tree oil in the vaporizer that helps kills crap in the air.  I really don’t know what washing with that disinfectant would do that the others aren’t doing, but I’ll try here in a bit.  Not being snarky, mom.  Promise.  Just not looking forward to rewashing everything again. *sigh*

I say it’s because we live in a 3 bedroom 1000 sq foot apartment with 4 kids, 2 of which are in school bringing home germs, and it’s winter and I can’t open windows, air things out.  Alyce has been sick a couple of times this winter, Nano has been sick over and over with something or other.  Jordan has been pretty healthy, Kat has had one ear infection.  It can’t just be my house, there’s got to be a reason why the waiting rooms are filled up in the winter at the doctor’s office versus the summer when there is rarely a wait.

Have a great day everyone!

Here’s another thing about me, I’m on the constant search to lose weight.  If I wasn’t nursing, I might try this.  bsn no xplode reviews Have you heard about it?  Thoughts?
