ECHO and UNICEF promote Plumpy’nut production to improve child nutrition in Niger
It just breaks my heart with all we have here in the US and in so many parts of the world, with the technology we have, that children are still dying because there is no food.
I think Plumpy Nut is now going to be one of my charities of choice.
ETA – via a comment I put a more reliable link up to donate to Plumpy Nut. You can also donate via IntenseDebate NotificationDoctors Without Borders, ACF, UNICEF. Thank you to the commenter for letting me know!
I want to make sure everyone knew because I do do reviews here that this is something I just came across. No one asked me to post it. I’m getting nothing from it. I just feel that it is important.

I'm glad that you've chosen to support a worthy charity.
That being said, the phrase "with all we have in America" saddens me. Yes, many Americans have much more than any other people in the world. However, there are still children and families who starve on our city streets every day. Homeless shelters are more crowded than ever; here in my town, ours has actually had to turn people away because they have no more space.
I'd love to see more people worry about the children and families within our own borders that are starving and without shelter, as well as those throughout the world.
That's why I added in and in so many parts of the world (meaning other developed nations). I know we have children starving here too. They need access to this also. ESPECIALLY being that we are a developed nation with so much excess. Even right now when lots are going through economic hardships we still have so much thrown away. Not getting to people who need it. All of those kids break my heart. I wish I could help all of them.
Hello,
I just want to warn you that the "Plumpy Nut Initiative"/ Theywilldie in not endorsed in anyway by the manufacturer of Plumpy'nut, Nutriset, which I represent.
We asked to the website manager how he guarantees that money is actually spent on Plumpy'nut, and received no precise answer.
If you wish making a donation for Plumpy'nut and treatment of malnutrition, you should consider donating to Edesia (http://www.edesiallc.org), US-based licensed manufacturer of Plumpy'nut, or other trustworthy organizations sur as Doctors Without Borders, ACF, UNICEF, etc.
Thank you for letting me know! I edited my post to reflect that information! When I donate I definitely want to know my $$ is going to go where it is being used for what I intended.
Hello,
Thank you very much for taking my message into account!
Hi Heather,
I just was alerted to the fact that your post about Plumpy'nut is reproduced in its uncorrected version on the mom blog network.

Do you think you could have it corrected, or post a comment (which I can't, not being a member of the club)?
Thanks,
Rémi
I fixed it over there. Thank you! I forgot some of these networks pick up my blog posts.
