The Christmas Tree Is Down

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 12 - 2010

Finally.  What you took yours down 2 weeks ago?  Yeah, we don’t do that here.  We wait until it’s almost July and then pull ours down.

Actually, Pato threw away the box for it after we put it up this year because he said it was broke.  So then I had to wait for him to finally bring him a box for it.  He got a text message every day for the past week – box for tree.  Did he bring one?  No.  When he called me from Walmart last night I asked him if he grabbed a big box from work.  No.  So he borrowed 2 boxes from Walmart and took the tree down last night.  Now, how long will the boxes sit in my living room until they make it out to the garage.  They’ll probably sprout legs and walk themselves on out when they are tired of my kids climbing on them.

Since I took a picture of Jordan for Project 365 today I snapped one of Katiana too.

This is Katiana deciding not to try to pull the I’m siiiiick mom routine after it didn’t work for Jordan.

January2010-12

Whatever, I guess I’ll just go to school.

Actually, she’s my one who loves school still.  I remember a day when Jordan loved school, I think.  Or maybe he’s always hated it. I think maybe back in PreK he got excited to get up each morning and go. It’s been a battle every day since then.  That’s strange to me because he does so well in school.  Kat on the other hand, loves everything about school, the things they do, her teacher, her friends, she pops out of the bed and is ready to go each morning. I love that I have one child I don’t have fight every morning.

Speaking of school.  I need to decide if I want to put Alyce in preschool this fall or wait until she’s 4 like I did with Kat.  Part of me says I want to keep her home with me for another year and the other part says, look how far Katiana came in the one year of preschool, think how far Alyce could come in 2 years of it.  And Kat’s preschool was only a half day.  Alyce would go to the same one, so it’s only 3 hours, 4 days a week.  I don’t know.  Right now I’m leaning more towards sending her when she’s 4. Part of that has to do with the fact that she’s so shy. She won’t talk to anyone she doesn’t know, and even my brothers (who she’s obviously known her whole life) can send her into tears by talking to her for too long.

Here’s an example, my brother called me a week ago and said, you make your husband take all 4 kids shopping while you relax at home?  Glad I’m not married to you. (For the record, J, I’m glad I’m not married to you too.)  He was teasing me because he ran into Pato with all 4 kids at Walmart when he took them one day because I was working on a good headache.

They got home and this was our conversation.

Me: Alyce, did you say hi to Uncle Josh?

Alyce: Jordan say hi to Dosh.

Me: Did you say hi to Uncle Josh?

Alyce: Kat said hi to Dosh.

Me: Did you, Leecy, say hi to Josh?

Alyce: I yooked at him.

Me: You looked at him?

Alyce: Yep, I yooked at him.

Funny but huge for her, because she usually hides her head in my shirt or pants so she doesn’t have to “yook” at anyone.

That’s my baby.

Ricky only tweeted twice, (If I had a Donnie Wahlberg tweet of the day I would have the opposite problem. LOL)  so I didn’t have much to choose from.  Here’s the Ricky Martin tweet of the day –

I’m always up for new music.  Ricky’s voice just makes me happy, in English or Spanish.

I’m looking for sponsors for my Double Birthday Bonanza in February and I have my editorial calendar up for the year.  PR reps, if you’re interested, make sure to check those out.

Have a great day!

Project365-2010-12

You’d think 2 snow days, a weekend, and a scheduled teacher work day would be enough quality time with mom.  Obviously not.
