How was your DSD weekend?

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 10 - 2009

I had fun.  Bought a lot of products, mostly personal use stuff, but I did stumble upon come CU stuff that took me by surprise.  Have you heard of Cassel?  You probably have.  And I’ve used her scripts, they are fabulous and she’s definitely an asset to those of us who use PSP.  I had never thought to buy her Paper Preview script though and I saw it this weekend thought, if it works, it’ll help a lot.  It takes me about an hour to make a paper preview of 12 papers because PSP freezes up so much while you’re working with big files.  So, I grabbed this one.  BEST script ever for me!  I ran it twice, one on solids, once on patterns, then combined the two into one preview.  The whole process took me about 4 minutes and I am not dreading previews any more.  I also grabbed her lace script, surged edged script, and her acrylic script.

The one that took me by surprise, only because I didn’t know she made PSP Scripts, was Joanne’s Digital Designs.  Now, most of the time I use extracted ribbons because I don’t like the look of digital ribbons, but I saw her scripts and had to buy a few and they work like a dream!  Check this out –

All digital, no remember materials thrown it.  They are gorgeous!  I was mighty impressed!

I have to say my favorite kit find this year was this one by Kasia (and I think everyone else in the digital world LOL)

Images are linked and here’s the matching alpha I grabbed.  Both only $1.  What a steal!  Kasia, you rock!

I think I may use that one for our Christmas cards this year.  It’s between that and my own winter kit that I’m working on.  I just love the little snowmen in here and mine doesn’t have a Christmas tree in it because it’s just winter.  I don’t know.  It’ll be a touch call, we’ll see when I finish my own kit what I choose!

I bought some other stuff from Tracy Ann, Rachael, Jaya Prem (who RAK’d me the cutest boys kit!), Jofia, and Lynne-Marie.

I think that’s it.  LOL  Found a couple of fab freebies, my favorite of those being by Malina. A gorgeous Christmas kit – not sure how many of those I actually need, but I’ve got them coming out the wazoo right now.  LOL  It’s still available on her blog when I just checked.

Ok, off of scrapping stuff.   First, I have to show you a couple of cell phone shots.  I’m did take a picture with my Nikon of Alyce to scrap.

First up, last night, someone was naughty. (don’t mind the blurriness of the cell phone picture, you’ll get the point.)

Yeah, that’s right.  They colored on the baby.  And I can’t get it washed off.  So, he’s now running around with washed out black (kind of a green) on his face.  And you know who did it?  Not me.  Must have moved to my house from Family Circus.  Same not me spread Trix cereal all over my living room, Jordan’s room, Jordan’s bathroom, and ended up with pouring a bunch into his sink also.  I can’t turn my head for an instant.  At that moment I was nursing the baby who I can’t nurse to sleep in my arms because 90% of the time when I lay him down he wakes up, so I lay down with him and nurse him.

This was Alyce and my project yesterday.

Yep, we made that wreath.  Started out with a cheap 18 inch wreath from the Dollar Tree.  Grabbed a bunch of bells, ornaments, mistletoe, and the star that Alyce thought was the perfect tough.  We hot glued it all together and voila.  You have our wreath.  I think it cost about $7 to make all together.  We don’t need no fancy designer wreath!

Here’s a few pics of Nano I snapped the other day.

Is he not getting too big too fast?  8 months.  Sniff sniff.  As naughty as the rest of them.  He just pulled everything off my desk, so I suppose I should finish this up and assess the damage.

Hope you had a great weekend!

P.S. My grab bag is still available for $2.00, I thought I’d leave it up because NDISB was down yesterday and Sunday.  Grab it here.

P.P.S.  I was reading about HCG shots as a form of weight loss.  Have you heard about it?  Read this – hcg shots austin, and tell me what you think.  Would you do it?  I’ve always thought of anything related to pregnancy as MAKING me fat.  But if it works the opposite direction, wouldn’t that be awesome?

about the rug Pato bought us?  Our rug that we have is leaving something to be desired.  Strings keep pulling out of it and get wrapped up in the vacuum and breaking the belt, which really ticks me off, not to mention stinks a lot.  He was at the store the other day and you know those huge area rugs that take up a whole room that are normally $70 and up?  They were on clearance for $15.  He grabbed one.  I told him he should have grabbed one for each room at that price.  He was going to go back and get more, but they were out of them by the next day.  At that price, I wasn’t surprised.
