Last soccer game!

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 25 - 2009

well, for the season.  I’m always excited when it’s over.  I mean, I truly do love watching my children play, but all the running around isn’t the most fun I could I come up with if left to my own devices.

Snapped a few pictures today –

October-1

Miss Alyce

October-2

Katiana

October-3

Nano – he won’t sit still for a picture, almost all were blurry.

October-4

Took a break from trying to eat grass.

October-5

Glad the season is over.  Oh wait, that’s what I said, he just smiled.  LOL

It was cold.  It’s always colder out there than it is at my place.  Possibly because the fields are out in the middle of nowhere between corn fields.  I live in Iowa remember?  I always forget the temp drops like 10 degrees over there and I was wearing sandals (not Naot sandals but sandals none the less).  What was I thinking.  I was thinking my toes were frozen and muddy from the parking lot, which is gravel, and covered in standing water because we’ve gotten more rain in the last 4 days then we got all summer.  Notice my son got out of his dad’s car and didn’t put on his coat nor did he have his long sleeve shirt on under his jersey.  Oh well, choose your battles.  I say if you want to make a stupid decision, don’t complain to me when you’re a popcicle later.  Yeah, I have room to talk after saying I wore sandals.  LOL

So, it’s over.  My youngest 2 are running from the noses like faucets.  My oldest 2 are fighting and I’m pretending to ignore it.  I’m also hoping Pato gets off early.  After my last phone call he said, oh no.  I’ll call you back.  I’m going to see if I can leave.  These calls start with, YOUR CHILDREN!

I’m going to lock myself in the bathroom when he gets home and I’m not coming out.  Swear to you, I’m not.  And the first person who tries to pop the lock is going to get hit with a spray of the first thing I find on my sink.

I’m hoping that Pato stops and gets this on the way home –

Yep, that’s an electric nose sucker.  ROFL  My sister has one and she says it’s amazing.  She says Mikayla doesn’t even mind having her nose cleaned.  Seeing as Christiano snorts when he tries to breathe and Alyce “don’t want to” blow her nose, and no one will sit still for the brown hospital nose sucker, I thought we’ll give this one a try.

On that note, I’m signing off, my kids still aren’t listening and they are fighting.  I suppose ignoring the problem isn’t truly making it go away.  *sigh*

Keeping the kidlets safe

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 25 - 2009

I’m always looking for safety products to keep the little ones from putting forks in outlets, themselves in the toilet, and out of the knife drawer.  But, when they get older, how do you keep them safe from themselves.  Once they can climb over the baby gate, push the chair to the cabinet, climb up onto the chair, onto the stove, and reach the Halloween candy?  I guess that’s when you start praying huh?

Site

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 25 - 2009

So, I’m just wondering what you think of the free directory submission sites?  Do they do anything for you?  I know there are so many of us out there with digiscrapping stores, blogs, other sites, etc that it’s hard to get to the top of the listings.  Have you used any?  What was your experience, love it?  Hate it?  no feelings either way?

As a store what’s your favorite cart

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 25 - 2009

to work with?  I’ve worked with Zen, X, and Digivendor.  Though I like X as a designer in a store with multiple designers, I like Zen better.  Just for the fact that you can see the sale, you don’t have to wait until you check out.  Zen’s been easy for me to use and it’s within my po budget.  So, what’s your favorite cart (would these be POS systems, I don’t think they are, but thought I’d ask.). :)

Going Back To School

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 25 - 2009

I’m not yet, but I’ve thought about it.  I just saw this http://wgu.edu.  And I thought about it again.  I’d really like to finish my degree.  My sister is going back to school.  She wants to be an RN and with this she could go from rn to bsn online.  That would help her a lot because like me she has a kid, (If we’re telling the truth, I’m ahead by 3, but we’re not really competing.) unlike me, she works outside the home full time and I know it’s hard for her to go from work to school and not be able to pick up her daughter from the sitter.  I hadn’t thought about taking classes online, but this looks interesting, it looks like you do everthing you would in a traditional college setting, study, take tests, write papers, all that jazz.  Plus you have the ability to do it when the kids aren’t screaming in your ear.  You also have a mentor for you at this university, which might have made the difference way back when between me graduating or sitting here a few credits short of graduation.  When Christiano is in school, I’m going to have to take a closer look at this so I can have the daytime to study, do schoolwork, test, etc.
