I am so not observant

I am kicking myself left and right at this moment.  I was looking at MP3 players with free shipping for the kids for Christmas.  I found 2 that are like generic iPod touches.  Bid on them, won them.  This is the one I won.

Didn’t notice that the 2 I bid on had $25.99 shipping.  AGH!  Pato is so going to kill me.  On the plus side, the auctions ended at less than $10 each, but still.  I am holding my breath right now to see if the seller will combine shipping and mail them together.  Cross your fingers for me because I feel really really stupid right now.  If I do it, I’ll be like Superman able to talk sellers from Hong Kong into leaping steel buildings in a single bound.  No, I got that wrong, it’s tall buildings.  Steel will work too I guess.  (Totally OT, my parents have a HUGE steel building they use for their garage that holds EVERYTHING they could ever think of storing on top of their cars.  They LOVE it.  It’s my dad’s favorite thing about their house I think.  So, if you need a garage, that’s a great thing to look into!)

Either way, my kids will be getting these for Christmas, can’t still a big man.  A) It’s wrong B) I don’t want negative feedback.  I’ve had my account at Ebay since 2003.  I love my Ebay account.

Did I share that last week at Kat’s soccer game she made her first goal EVER?  It was so awesome.  After she did it she wasn’t even that excited.  Walking around like, yeah, I do it all the time.  LOL  Unlike the little girl at yesterday’s game who scored and then turned to her mom and yelled, MOMMY!  I made a goal!  So darn cute at this age!  It’s different watching each of my kids play.  It’s so much fun to watch the U6 teams play, they are just out there having fun.  With Jordan’s age group, U11, it’s fun to watch how far they’ve come.  Jordan’s been playing since he was Kat’s age and to see them get to the point now where they are passing to each other on purpose and you can see them working as a team, it’s so cool.

Now that Kat has been in kindergarten for a month, I have to share that she LOVES school.  Which is a change from Jordan who HATES school.  Her teacher said she’s doing really well and she (Kat, not her teacher) comes home every day with this enthusiasm that bubbles over.  I love it!  Jordan is already trying to get out of school each morning.  He does so well in school, I don’t understand why he hates it so much.  I wouldn’t think he’d put forth such an effort to do well if he hated it as much as he acts like he does.

He’s medication free this year (for his ADHD) and I have not had one call or email about him getting in trouble.  I think we’re finally hitting the long stretch in the getting control of his impulsiveness and concentration problems.

I’ve got to share too, I dropped the kids off at school the other day instead of having them ride the bus because I needed to pick up some milk.  They got out of the car and started walking toward the building.  I sat and watched and it was the sweetest thing!  Kat reaches out her hand, Jordan reaches out his hand, and they walked into the school holding hands.  Big brother helping little sister all the way.  It did my heart good.  I was sitting there in my car saying, you really do like each other.  I don’t see that side of my kids very much.  Usually they are at each others’ throats all the time.  It was just so nice.

So, I’ve got some news that I announced on my CT blog, but in case you haven’t been over there, I’ll post it here.

I am guesting this month at Scrappity Doo Dah! I have 2 exclusive products in the store right now.  First, I have a grab bag through September 30!

There are 5 brand new, never before seen products, a little bit of grunge and dirt, some sparkle and shine, and it’s just a fun bag!  Grab it for $2.50!

Next I have a beautiful collab that I worked on with Digioverdose and Vonnie’s Digiworld.  I LOVE how it came out!  As Time Goes By

Through September 30, when you buy the kit (which is on sale from $7.99 to $5.99) you will also receive the add on and a second alpha for free!  That’s 20 pages + 65 elements (and all of the family labels) + 1 alpha that comes with the kit + the 2nd alpha + 8 more elements + 5 more papers.

The add on

The 2nd alpha

A layout I did of my grandpa with the kit that made me cry as I did it.  I miss him.  Scrapping this page actually made me cry.  Next month it will have been 3 years since we lost him.  I know the intense pain of him passing has faded, but seeing him and thinking of him still brings tears to my eyes.  I don’t think that ever leaves.  The 20th anniversary of my grandma’s death is on November 1 and it still hurts.

Ok, now that I’m getting all weepy and sentimental we’ll stop that track before I’m crying on my keyboard.  I’ll send you over to my CT blog to get a freebie that goes with the new kit.

I’ll leave you with that and go get my youngest 3 ready for Jordan’s soccer game today.  Have a wonderful day!

You would think that I was …

Posted by Heather Manning On September - 20 - 2009

Just a tad obsessed with weight loss with how much I post about wanting to lose weight, top diet pills, exercises that I want to try, gyms that I want to use if Alyce would just cooperate with the nursery there, etc.  But, I have good news!  Another pair of my pants is falling off of me.  I don’t know if it is the nursing or the running myself ragged during soccer season or chasing after 4 kids or what else it might be, but it’s a nice feeling to lose it without trying.  I wouldn’t be adverse to a little extra help, but until I stop nursing, it’s has to be all diet and exercise for me.  Makes me happy though.  How much more should I lose before I buy new clothes?  I say my belts have to be too big because then I’ll have to buy new pants if even my belts won’t hold them up. :)
