Not Everyone's Mama

Yesterday was the first day of school.  Jordan entered 4th grade and Kat started kindergarten.  Yes, I cried.  My stomach was full of butterflies all morning and when we walked away from him the tears started.  But, she made it through the day and already has a crush on a little boy named Tyler.  AGH!  Just like her mama.  When I was in kindergarten I guess I used to pick out my dresses based on whether my crush would like them or not.  ROFL

Jordan had a good first day too.  Though he still claims to hate school.  I don’t know why, he does really well in it.  I guess as long as he keeps putting forth his best effort I won’t worry too much.

Today tragedy struck Kat as she was waiting for the bus.  I was sitting outside with her, the bus had pulled in, but it still had to go around.  Pato came out, she ran to give him a hug, then she started to run back to the bus stop when she crashed and burned.  I don’t know what she was more upset over, the fact that she was bleeding or because her new dress shoes that she was wearing for the first time were all scraped up on the toes.    I didn’t have time to get her a band aid because the bus pulled up.

Then the school calls and asked if Jordan was home sick.  I said, no.  He rode the bus.  She said, well he’s marked as absent.  I said, he better be there.  Turns out the bus was late, Jordan wanted to eat breakfast at school (I guess theirs are better than mine), and when the bus is late, you still can eat breakfast.  Jordan didn’t make it back to class before his teacher took attendance.  The attendance secretary said, well, if you don’t hear from me, he’s here.  Gee, that makes me feel better.  How long do I wait before I assume he’s there rather than starting a search party because he’s supposed to have been at school for an hour and a half already? 

I love it when the school year starts off with drama!  Puts a nice feel to it for the rest of the year.  *sigh*  You should have seen the drama here last night!  Jordan had to have me sign his assignment notebook.  I signed it and laid it on my desk.  I knew better, I really did.  Next thing I know Jordan is yelling…..LOUD, Alyce is screaming and carrying on, and Christiano couldn’t be left out, so he started wailing.  Turns out Alyce started coloring in Jordan’s notebook and ripped out the last page and according to Jordan he snapped, ripped it out of her hands, and started screaming at her.  I said, she’s 2!  He said, I don’t care.  *sigh*  It took awhile to get everyone calmed down.

I FINALLY have my desktop back.  My friend from high school sent me a monitor.  My aunt gave me a keyboard (one to save money, 2 to not have to take my children to the store.  ROFL).

First thing I did?  Take all of those pictures off my camera.  There were close to 300.  LOL

I’ll share the pictures from 2 weekends ago when we went to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE.  We ended up seeing part of the zoo by train because it was over 100 and I got Christiano out of there and into the air conditioned car.

Can you see the baby monkey in the branch fork holding on to the monkey he was playing with?  That little thing was so cute scampering around.

We decided this one had been taking hair style advice from Jordan.

This one is a little grainy.  It was almost completely black when I went to edit it.  I was standing probably a story up from this guy and he was in the shade.

So that was our trip to the zoo. 

After all these walking trips we’ve been taking can I say, I haven’t needed natural appetite suppressants, or unnatural for that matter.  LOL  I’m wearing shorts I haven’t worn for years, and they are falling off.  It’s a nice start.  I don’t know what I changed, but whatever it is, it’s working.  Yeah, now only 30 more pounds to go.  LOL

Kat starts kindergarten tomorrow as Jordan goes off to 4th grade so I’m sure I’ll have a bunch of pictures to share! 

I have 2 new layouts that I did yesterday also.

Did you see my Facebook status a few days ago that said Pato was in trouble?  Yeah, he came home with a used Lincoln Navigator without talking to me about it.  Didn’t think it was a big deal.  I think our cultures collide.  He comes from a place where the women let the men make all the decisions and it’s ok.  Unfortunately for him, I’m not sweet and docile like that and he slept on the couch as I thought of all the stereo parts and truck accessories I’m sure he’ll think he’ll need.  That and the extra car payment that I’m not too happy about.  Men.
