We drove up to Council Bluffs yesterday for my great aunt’s funeral. And of course, Christiano hated his car seat. I ended up in the backseat all contorted while I attempted to nurse him buckled in his seat while I was buckled in also. I swear a semi driver got a peak. I did try to cover up with a blanket. LOL That was the ride there and back. 2 hours each way. My back was killing me when we finally got home.
Snapped a few pics on the way up with my phone. I wasn’t sure how appropriate it was to bring my camera to a funeral.

Miss Alyce forgot her binky. She settled for the thumb because it was “yummy”.

I don’t know what is up with this child’s goofy faces when I take a picture. Katiana.

Yes, he’s a blurry baby, but he’s a full content baby. After nursing him. I couldn’t see the pictures very well in the car because of the sun to know it was blurry and I needed to snap another one.

Mr Jordan. I panicked when I realized my child had a mohawk for a funera. So, we brushed it down and went with it.

Where are my eyes you say? I don’t know. That’s what happens when I smile. LOL This picture is ala Katiana. She wanted to keep snapping more, but I figured one picture of me is enough for the world. LOL
That’s the back of my sister’s head while driving my car. Didn’t get a picture of her. She was nervous enough driving it without sticking my camera around the backseat into her face.
Hey look! My nails are long. LOL That only happens when I take prenatal vitamins. When I stop nursing Christiano, they’ll go back to breaking and be thin and gross. Can you take prenatal vitamins forever? They are never painted though. Every time I try to paint them the baby needs me. We both ended up covered in nail polish and it’s just not a pretty site.
We left here at 7:30. Got to the funeral by 9:50. Left there at 12:30 and were back home at about 3. Long long day in the car.
I tried to start out driving each time and on the way back we gave up going to rest areas and gas stations. I pulled off to the side of the ramp, yelled Chinese fire drill and we all switched seats. Then we did it again to put me in the driver’s seat. Then 10 minutes later Christiano woke up screaming and we did it all over again. I sat in the backseat the rest of the time and just enjoyed the ride.
We got home. At 5 I was so tired I couldn’t think straight so I laid down with the 2 youngest and bribed Jordan and Katiana with the Wii if they promised to not fight, not open the door for anyone, etc etc etc. We slept until 8. Then got up. I still was dragging, but after a full night’s sleep I feel much much better this morning.
Kids are still sleeping and it’s almost 11. Well, Christiano is attached to me, but sleeping. The other 3 are in bed still. They must have been just as tired as I was.
Ok, off to finish this kit and get my contribution for the NDISB mega for next month done.
Have a great day!
P.S. I forgot to mention here though I mentioned it on Facebook. There were 3 itty bitty babies there. I thought they were newborns. Nope, just a few days younger than Christiano. No one could believe he was their age. He’s a giant baby. Close to 17 lbs. I asked one of my cousins down the line, she’s my mother’s cousin’s daughter, how much her daughter weighed. She said 9 lbs. I said, Christiano weighed that at birth. That little one was tiny. But the other 2 weren’t much bigger than her. The only way you could tell that they were the same age is that Christiano still has those spastic newborn movements where he jerks those hands and legs around. Here my guy is wearing a 6-12 month outfit (Old Navy sizes) and I don’t see him wearing it a lot longer, and they were all in these itty bitty cute clothes. Kinda makes me sad that he’s getting so big so fast. He’s my last one, he’s supposed to stay itty bitty forever.
