Hardy Har Har

My dad, always the comedian.  He’s having surgery this morning for his shoulder.  He has almost a full rotator cuff tear that he’s been living with for a year.  He just thought his shoulder hurt.  It’s bad enough that they can’t just do orthoscopic surgery.  They have to go in and really repair it.

He calls me at 8 this morning and says, they told me they were just kidding.  I’m going home.  I said, huh?  Why?  He said, oh, just like they sent you home 4 times before you had Christiano.  False alarm!  Ha ha ha!  You’re so funny dad!  LOL

He’s nervous though.  My mom said he was looking a little white and breaking out into a sweat.  She had him put his head between his knees.  Then they tried a wet wash cloth on his head.  My dad is one who doesn’t go to the doctor much.  (If you can’t tell, living with a torn rotator cuff for a year, like it was normal.)  And he doesn’t complain, he just goes on with his life as if it’s all good.

When he got there, he got checked in.  They went to move him back to surgery and some lady comes running down the hall.  Stop!  Don’t take him in yet!  Turns out their sterilization machine didn’t actually sterilize the stuff.  They had to rerun it through, so then my dad had to sit there thinking about the surgery for another 30 minutes.  Poor guy!

My mom thought it was weird they were putting in a breathing tube so he’d be on a ventilator.  The anesthesiologist said it was because of the position he was in, where they were operating, they didn’t want him moving by breathing?

He’s in now.  It’s about a 3 hour long surgery, so if you read this between now and 11:30, send up some thoughts for my daddy.

So, I took Mr Chub-a-lub to the Dr last night.  He’s been stuffy for the last couple of weeks.  The day before yesterday he started getting really cranky.  Yesterday he felt really warm to me.  So, I dropped Jordan off at soccer practice with my brother and off the rest of us went to the walk in.  He just has a cold, so that’s good.  I wanted to get his ears checked because he was doing that whole nursing, pull off and cry, nursing, pull off and cry thing.  His ears look good.  I’m going to assume it’s just the congestion making him fuss when he’s nursing.  He can’t breathe, and that might be putting some pressure on his ears.

I just about died when I saw how much he weighed.  Remember at his 2 month appointment, if you follow my blog, he was just under 12 lbs.  Well, yesterday at 3 months, Christiano now weighs 16 lbs 4.5 oz.  He has put on almost 5 pounds in one month.  That would explain going up to 6-9 month clothes so quickly.  LOL  And me thinks he could almost go into a size 3 diaper.  My little niece Mikayla will be one in September.  Abby just weighed her the other day and she weighs 16 lbs.  He’s a big boy.  She’s a petite little thing.  I’m giggling.  He’s a little chubby, but not too bad.  The child is long.  I think he’s going to take after his 6’2″ 220 lb dad.  Where as Jordan takes after his 5’4″ not going to mention how much I weigh but could stand to lose a few pounds mom.  LOL  The girls take after Pato too in height but seem to be more like their aunts on his side.  Skinny little things.  Wish I had that problem!

I forgot to set up his 4 month appointment.  Need to do that.  And Jordan’s 10 year check completely slipped by me, that whole having a baby on the day he turned 10 thing I did.  He needs checked for his meds too.  I think I’ll get that scheduled this morning. Otherwise Christian won’t get in until after 4 months.  He’ll turn 4 months on June 23.

Alright, on that note, while my kids are all back to sleep, I’m going to get some work done!

I linked upped the digiscrapping blog roll that Hummie put together for us on it’s own page.  She did an awesome job!  Thanks Hummie!  If you want some more fabulous blogs to read, check out the Mom dot blog linkathon on another page.

Oh oh oh!  I also created a Fans of Heather Manning Facebook page.  That makes me giggle too.

And I gave it the old college try on a new blinkie.  Yvonne usually make my blinkies for me, but I really wanted to try to make my own.  So, here it is if you want to wear it! :)

What do you think for my first attempt?

Have a great day!
