Let me show you a couple of layouts before I get more frustrated by explaining why I am frustrated.
Here’s a layout I did with my newest kit in the store.
My mama was mighty impressed that I used that frame. It’s from an old building on their property that I took a picture of last summer and have been waiting to be inspired to use. LOL
Here’s what the kit looks like –
(click here to see the preview full sized so it doesn’t look jagged) It’s called Summer Meadow. There’s a sample bracket quick page on my CT blog if you’d like it.
And this layout –
Isn’t that fun? The kit is a mini from Maelia Designs from the So You Think You Can Design contest. Couldn’t help myself, had to grab it!
On the frustration. Banks! Car loans! AGH! I’m going to need some cheap term life insurance quotes by the time this is done. Ok, so we’re trying to build credit to buy a house soon on our own, no help from his uncles, etc etc. We were approved for a $17,000 loan for a new car or $8000 for a used. Either way, not a heck of a lot to choose from when you need a car that seats 6 – 3 of those being in car seats.
So, we’re looking at 2008 new Dodge Grand Caravans that were marked down to $15,000 at this one dealer. Well, by the time the bank had all the paper work done for the loan, they sold the last one. Well, they have a used one with 22,000 miles for that price with all the xtras, but the bank says it needs to have less than 20,000 miles. Ok, so we start looking at the KIAs. (This is the third go round with the bank at this point, and God only knows how many with the dealers. This is my mother’s day present BTW – and that has come and gone.) I decided I love the KIA Ronda. It’s a 2008 has 18 miles on it. Beautiful red color. Not quite a van, not really a station wagon. It’s $22,000 with a $6000 rebate. We’re all happy, we’ve decided. Pato calls the bank, well, they think that car should only be worth $10,000 and they will not pay one penny more for it. HUH? A 2008 that is brand new, never owned, only test drove – $10,000??? He’s not sure what the next step is. We just know we want this car. So, he has to really talk to the bank and the dealer and see if a compromise can be reached. (Should I say I really want the car because I just love it. Pato wants the caravan with more room.)
Ok, so those of you who have bought new cars, what do we do now? Is there any talking the bank into it? Am I just out of luck? Do I start looking at the Grand Caravans again? I just loved this car so much and it was right in the range the bank told us, frustrated, kind of feel like a good cry at this point. Tired of getting my hopes up.
I’ve got pictures I need to get off of my camera, but I’m nursing Christiano right now. Those will have to be for tomorrow.
Have a great day!
