That sounds lovely doesn’t it? LOL
Wednesday I went to the dermatologist. If you saw my facebook status, you’d know I wasn’t enjoying myself from the get-go. The waiting room was huge and packed. I took one of 2 chairs left and then another older lady took the last chair beside me.
She proceeded to fill out her paperwork, while chomping on gum like she was chewing on cud. That was annoying. Then she procees to whisper to herself as she reads the paperwork AND as she fills out her answers. Ps ps ps ps ps, chomp chomp chomp chomp, ps ps ps ps ps. I was looking around the room for a pencil to jab in my ears so that I couldn’t hear anymore.
I swear, I’m a nice person. But there is only so much I can take even. She is actually lucky I’m a nice person. As she’s whispering her answers to herself, she gave out her social security number. Very lucky I’m not an unscrupulous.
They called me back and they asked if I wanted a whole skin check. I said, why not? I had wanted them to check a couple of spots anyway. The one that really worried me the most turned out to be a spot that needed biopsied.
When I was 17, my cousin was getting married in Pensacola, FL. We traveled down and on the last day in Pensacoloa we went to the ocean (Gulf of Mexico). I was in the water thirty minutes. That’s it. Burns on my shoulders so bad. I was all blistered up, couldn’t wear a bra for a week, could barely wear shirts that touched my shoulders. It was horrible. Then we traveled on to Orlando using some economy hotels promotions my parents had gotten until they bought a time share and we moved there, but that’s a whole different story.
Back to the shoulders. I pretty much immediately had light sun spots covering my shoulders. As I’ve gotten older they’ve gotten a little darker. One spot in particular is almost black. That’s the part that had to be cut off. Fun. Poke and a burn, poke and a burn. Here’s the poke – burn burn burn burn. Ya think??? My lord. The results on that should be back in a week. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I’m kind of nervous.
Then on to those little cysts in the corners of my eyes. They are called hydrocysts, I guess. And no one knows why I keep getting them. No pain killer for those. Just sliced open. That brought some tears to the eyes. Then she asked me if I wanted her to do some work on my face. I’ve got some bumps – they are kind of like pimples, but not red and they never go away. They showed up when I was pregnant with Christiano. So, she started ripping those open. Ok, it wasn’t really a rip, but this tool, that poked and cut them open. I now know why my best friend in high school was almost crying every time she had to go to the dermatologist. They are sadists! (No offense to my CT member Diana who is one and who has the most beautiful skin I have ever seen in my life.) By the time I left there, I wanted to cry. And I get to go back! I am so lucky.
I actually have another cyst on my head above my ear. Thank God for hair. It is about 1/2 an inch in diameter and rock hard. That one requires a little bit more work. So, I have an appointment next Wednesday. They promised me I’d only lose a few strands of hair. Please tell me how they are going to numb an area that has no fat whatsoever? I mean, it’s tissue covering your skull and that’s it. They’re going to hurt me again right?
Speaking of hair. I noticed I had some grey hairs popping back in. I’m 34. Shouldn’t be getting these, right? That’s what I keep telling myself. I’ve actually been getting them since my early 20′s. My grandpa was completely grey before his mid-twenties and I think he passed that on to me. Thanks! I had Pato pick me up a box of hair color – which he didn’t get the right one. I wanted more red then he grabbed, but ok, we’ll deal. Colored it last night. After it dried, I went in to brush my teeth, had the light on, look in the mirror – the grey is still there! GRRRR! I don’t have any splotches, like I missed any, it’s all evenly colored, except for those strands of silver on top. *sigh* That’s the first time I have not covered my grey with hair color and the last time I use Nice & Easy, thank you. How long do you have to wait until you can recolor?
Tonight we’re heading over to my brother’s for a barb-b-que. Yesterday was his – hold, on I have to figure it out, 34 minus 6 – 28th birthday. He’s getting a pony keg. We women feel so lucky that we can be the designated drivers for all the guys in my family who tend to overindulge when it comes to kegs. My dad, both my brothers, Pato. It’s a good thing that their neighbor/landlord is going out of town (Josh lives in a more rural area). My dad and my brother Steve tend to get a little loud when they drink. My dad tends to praise the Lord really loud. That has to be sacrilegious, I keep waiting for the bolt of lightening. It never comes though, maybe he doesn’t care that you’re drunk when you praise him, as long as you do?
Have a great day! I’ve got to get to work on some more NSD stuff. I’ve got 2 grab bags (nope, one is not commercial use, you’ll have to see what I have up my sleeves) and the freebie done. I want to get some more done since I haven’t had a chance to really design since Christiano was born.
ETA – I just got a wonderful email from Chriscrap! I won her new kit Raconte moi une histoire. It’s so darn cute!

Thank you so much! Digital-Crea is like my new favorite store! Those ladies over there are so talented!
