First, update on the camera woes – Pato got me a CF card reader and it works perfectly. YAY! That made me happy.
Yesterday morning I had the IUD done. My OB is so funny. Always a comedian. He walks in and said, how are you? I said, kind of nervous. He said, me too! It’s my first one. Ha ha! You’re so funny!
Then he’s down there doing this, and he said, nurse, could you pass me the manual so I can make sure I’m putting this in right? Always nice to have a comedian when you’re lying on the table naked from the waist down.
So, that wasn’t the most pleasant experience I’ve been through, but it’s done.
While I was doing that, Pato took the girls down to the walk in. Kat has an ear infection. Alyce has a cold. Meds for Kat, Alyce is good.
Then it was time to go to get that cyst removed on my head. I was so nervous. I finally got called back after 45 minutes of waiting in the waiting room. They cut off a little bit of hair. The nurse put Novocain in, which is so pleasant to have injected into your skull. Ok, it wasn’t really in my skull, but close enough. Then she starts poking me with something sharp. Can you feel this? Yep. More Novocain. The Dr came in and cut it out. That went well. Then they start to cauterize it. I just about jumped off of the table. She said, you can feel that? Ya think? More novacaine. They finished cauterizing it then stitched me shut with pretty blue stitches. That way they can see the stitches through my hair when they go to remove them in 2 weeks. My head is throbbing today where they did it. Jordan thought it was the coolest thing. He went with me because I had to take him down to the walk in next. I looked at what they had taken out and that was just weird. It looked like a big white ball with the texture of an eraser. Gross.
They got the results of my biopsy back. No cancer. YAY!
Down to the walk in we went. Jordan’s been having bathroom issues again for awhile and now, I get to get stool samples from my ten year old. Joy above all joys. I may get sick. Yuck!
All in all, I have decided I will never schedule 2 semi-big procedures on the same day. I had to though because it was Pato’s day off. Last night Pato is like, can we? It’s been almost 9 weeks. Dude, I just had something put in and something else cut out. Can you let me have one night to recoup from all of this. *sigh* He’s never been a patient man.
I was watching TV last night, after one of my beautiful children broke the door off of the entertainment center, causing us to now need to go look at new tv stands and on the news they said there are 2 cases of the swine flu here in Iowa. They are expecting them to be confirmed by the CDC today. Governor Culver will be issuing an emergency health declaration. One of the cases was here where I live and another was in eastern Iowa. I’ve decided I’m not taking the 2 littlest ones out unless necessary. Oh, then I got a call from my SIL this morning. One of the ladies that has the swine flu works with a lady who goes to my ex-SIL to get her hair done. She was around that lady, who then went to get her hair done by my ex-SIL, who then went to my brother’s birthday party where we all were possibly exposed. *crossing fingers we weren’t* My mom said I can worry about it if I want, but she’s not going to. I’m a mom of a 2 month old, a 2 year old, a 5 year old, and a 10 year old. It’s my job to worry. Everyone has been under strict instructions to step up the hand washing more than normal. LOL
Alright, Christiano is fussing, I’m going to say goodbye for now. Have a great day!
