Some Pictures

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 7 - 2009

I’ve got some pictures from Carter’s party and a project of Jordan’s that I thought was so neat.

First the project –

That’s a sand painting he made.  If you can’t read the text because my son doesn’t have the neatest penmanship it says –

“The Navajo lived in the desert.  They lived in hogans that faced east.  They ate nuts, corn, beans, meat, plants, and squash.  Nearly 300,000 people were a Navajo.  They sand painted to help the sick.”

If you could actually see the painting in real life it came out so cool!

Miss Alyce

The birthday boy, Carter.  Do you not LOVE his jacket.  His grandpa on his mom’s side has AWESOME taste in clothes.

Kool-aid face Katiana.

Jordan and his balloons.

My niece, Jadah.

My niece, Taylor

My niece, Sydney

My dad and Christian

My brother, Steve, he’s single and looking for a good woman, ladies.  LOL

My brother, Josh, daddy of the birthday boy, and he’s not single.  LOL

My mama and my sister’s little girl Mikayla.  That’s my sister in the background – who probably won’t be happy with me because she is make-up-less.  LOL

Getting to that busy time.

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 7 - 2009

I’m coming up on my busy time of year again.  I have Katiana’s kindergarten round up on Tuesday – can you believe she is off to kindergarten in the fall?  I’m kind of relieved that her and Jordan will go to the same school for two years until he goes to 6th grade at the junior high.  He can help her on the bus, at school, etc until she gets used to things.  I’ve been attempting to get her paper work in order, but it’s not easy because her birthday is April 6.  She’ll get her shots at her 5 year check up.  Her DR doesn’t want to check her until she turns 5.  I have all these medical things to fill out though, medical history, physical, lead test, immunizations, and it all has to be turned in together by March 10, no incomplete packets.  Well, it isn’t really up to date.  I’ll have to get all the stuff filled out again at her check up.  Her nurse was even thinking about that when she called after I dropped off the paper work.  I was like, I don’t know what to do because it has to be turned in by March 10.  Same thing with the dentist.  Her next appointment is in May, so the paper won’t be up to date for that either.  Oh well.

Then I have meals with moms at Kat’s preschool on Friday.  I just had Jordan’s parent teacher conference last Thursday – which went great.  I’m always so proud of how he does in school.  I also have my parent teacher conference with Kat’s school on Friday after meals with moms.

April 4, soccer starts for both of the older 2.  We need to go buy new cleats for my 2 Big Foots here, who have both grown 2 shoe sizes since last season.  I have Jordan’s new soccer jersey bought and ready to go.  Got to love 2-3 soccer practices a week and 2 games to get to on Saturday.  I’m just hoping that we have a warm spring so that I don’t have to worry about having Christian out there.  I’m actually more worried about getting them there.  Christian is just like my other children in that he hates his car seat.  Stinks.

And after mentioning Kat’s birthday, I still have to go birthday shopping for her.  I got her big present.  A Disney princess bicycle.  Her first bicycle.  It’s hiding in the garage.  And I got her a couple of little things that were on clearance at Target yesterday, a Hannah Montana jewelry making set, a Hannah Montana white board – hoping that she’ll use that instead of my printer paper LOL, and a charm bracelet making thing.  I want to get a few other things though.

Actually, it’s just soccer season that makes this time (and fall) of year busy for me.  I feel like I’m constantly on the go.  Kat’s coach has already called and checked in, but I haven’t heard from Jordan’s yet.

And the weather, my goodness, it’s been gorgeous out here.  Thursday it was 73, yesterday in the 60′s.  So not normal for this time of year in Iowa.  Usually we’re snowed in during girls’ state basketball tournaments.  It’s a fact here, winter is not over until we have a huge snow during state tourneys.  The temp did drop today and it’s rainy.  I kept hoping I’d start seeing rose bushes blooming, and know that winter is over, but no such luck.  LOL

Here’s a picture I snapped of Christiano on my cell phone the other day.  I need to get my camera hooked up and upload my pictures I have on that.  LOL  This one isn’t great quality, but he’s still darn cute!

26

His umbilical cord fell out this morning.  I was getting worried about it.  The nurse told me not to put alcohol on it, I guess they don’t do that anymore, unless it started smelling or looking nasty.  The other day it started bleeding good.  Then it started stinking, so I’ve been putting alcohol on it.  This morning it was hanging on by a thread and when I went to change his diaper, he knocked it off himself throwing a little fit about having his lower half naked.  LOL

Today is my nephew, Carter’s birthday party.  He turned 2 yesterday.  Can you believe that?  My SIL is pregnant with number 3.  So, Christiano and  Mikayla (my sister’s daughter who is 5 months older than Christian) will have another playmate their age to play with.  We have babies in groups in our family.  LOL  Taylor is 7 months older than Jordan.  Sydney is all by herself though, 2 years younger than Jordan, then Katiana is alone too.  Jadah is 3, Alyce is 2, Carter is 3 months younger than Alyce, Christian is 5 months younger than Mikayla, and Shelley’s new one is due in September.

Go up another generation and it’s the same thing.  I have a cousin 3 months younger than I am and we are awesome friends.  And there are tons of us cousins that are 3 months apart in age on my mom’s side.  Always someone your age to play with around.  LOL

I’ve got to share one more thing – last night we went out for Pato and my 7th anniversary.  The waitress said, you’re kids are so well behaved.  VERY well behaved.  I just about choked on my diet pepsi.  Mine?  ROFL  Thank you.  LOL

Ok, I be babbling.  Gonna sign off and nurse mr man here.  Have a great day!

Oh oh oh, I’ve been using this search engine called Swag Bucks.  You win swag bucks when you do searches and you can trade those in on gift cards and such.  I’ve been using it the last few days after forgetting that I signed up and I am loving it!  Check it out here.

Losing that Baby Weight

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 6 - 2009

I’m down 9 of the 13 lbs that I gained with him.  Even though I still have 4 to lose, I got back into my jeans 5 days after I had him.  In fact, ones I just bought right before I got pregnant, I could use a belt on, they are starting to slide down.  Woohoo.

I can’t use a diet pill like Stimerex ES because  I’m nursing and I’m waiting for it to get nicer out to take the youngest 2 walking while the oldest 2 are in school.  It was nice the last couple of days in temperature, but it was windy, didn’t want him out in that.

I really want a Wii fit.  We used my sister’s when we had her birthday party and it was so much fun.  Even Jordan was loving the running part.  Pato said he saw them at the GameStop for $90.  I’ve got to wait awhile before I get that.  I still feel guilty for spending as much on the Wii as I did.  I know, everyone loves them, but I always feel a twinge when I spend that kind of money on something completely unnecessary.  LOL  But it’s so much fun!

Baby Blues or Exhaustion?

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 2 - 2009

That would be the question.  LOL  I’m in a good mood this morning, so I am thinking the emotional roller coaster I have been on is actually exhaustion.lly

First off, whoever gives out that stupid advice to sleep when the baby sleeps – yeah, they didn’t have 3 other kids.  Actually, I could trust Jordan to be good for awhile while I slept.  It’s the 4 year old and the 2 year old I can’t take my eyes off of.  Those 2 are kind of naughty.

Pato is back to work.  He didn’t work from Monday when we had Christiano until Saturday.  And he’s working his 10 – whenever the restaurant closes shifts, 6 days a week.  Which means I’m on my own from 9:30 AM until 11 or 12 PM.  No napping here now.  I don’t get him up in the middle of the night because he’s been getting up at 6:30 aned taking the kids to school for me.  Plus, he has to work all day.  But, Mr Christiano, like most newborns, is not a fan of sleeping at night.  His schedule the last couple of nights has been, go to sleep at about 8 for 2 hours of so, by the time I have the other 3 asleep and am finally ready to lay down myself, he is up.  Then he is up with little naps here and there until midnight or 1 AM.  Then he’ll sleep until 3.  Then he’s up at about 4:30.  I get another hour of sleep, he’ll get up at 5:30, then he’ll go to sleep about 6:30, when the alarm goes off for Pato to get up with the oldest 2, and I can’t get back to sleep.

Then I spend my day in tears.  Everything making me cry.  I really do think it’s just because I’m so tired.  Christiano did lay on my bed for about 10 minutes last night while I fell asleep talking to him.  He let me get that much needed 10 minutes of sleep before he started crying for someone to pay attention to him.  LOL  I also have very little patience with the other 3 before they start making me cry.  Took them 1 1/2 hours to clean the hamster cage last night.  That broke me down in tears.

Kat got up this morning and the first thing she said was, mom, remember when you were crying last night?  Are you better today?  So sad.

I think I need someone needs to install some Ferrari parts into my body so I can go fast.  (Like how I worked that in.  LOL)

For real though, I’ll be better when Christiano is able to go a little longer between feedings.  Then I can sleep more.

There are some more pictures on my mom’s blog.  I have some more from her to put up, but I’m on my laptop right now and don’t want to turn on the desktop to resize them right this second.  LOL  I’ll do that later.  Ignore the bad pictures of me on her blog.  The whole point is the pictures of the kids.  LOL

Have a wonderful day!

Did I show you my Vday present?

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 2 - 2009

Kat and I were at the mall a few days before Valentine’s Day and we passed a jewelry store.  I needed to sit, cuz I was still huge at that point.  LOL  We looked at the catalog and I saw this.

I don’t know why, but I fell in love with it.  Katiana, with some nudging from me ROFL, took the catalog home and showed daddy.  And that is what I got for Valentine’s Day.  I wonder if that is something you can add more charms too?  I think you could.  But I kind of like the simplicity of it the way it is now.  I think I’ll leave it the way it is.

Things I should have done

Posted by Heather Manning On March - 1 - 2009

before having the baby.

Taken a vacation in a hotel with luxury hotel rooms and stocked up on sleep. Or heck, taken the nurses up on their offer to take him down to the nursery so I could sleep. I always feel like I’m abandoning the baby when I do that and I always end up regretting it after the fact when I’m running on empty.

Made dinners ahead of time and have them frozen and ready to go. Then I wouldn’t be standing at the stove nursing the baby while making chicken fried rice like I was doing last night. LOL At least I had him in the wrap, but I didn’t have it tight enough, so I still had to support him with my arm.

Enjoyed lots of long hot baths, because I think the days of taking them are done and over with for awhile. No bubble baths for me. LOL

You know what though, it’s all worth it. I’ll cherish every minute with him while he’s little like this, even with my complaining. LOL
