Not Everyone's Mama

I am 39 weeks today.  The contractions have still been coming since I last posted.  At my OB appointment yesterday, I was dilated to 3 1/2 and a little over 50% effaced.

Without going into detail, I started a little bit of the show yesterday afternoon, and called my OB, because everything I’ve read said if there is blood, call.  They told me for 90% of women that the baby follows in less than 24 hours.  I’m at 12 hours and no sign of him.  ROFL  I’m pretty sure I’ll be in that 10% whose baby doesn’t follow in 24 hours.  Mine is holding on for dear life. 

This morning I got up at 5, and this is way TMI, but I threw up, and there was blood in that. (I hadn’t ate or drank anything, let alone anything that color.)  My OB said just to watch it.  See how I’m doing today.  That has never happened to me like that.

I stole some pictures off of my mom’s blog from that first hospital trip when everyone including the nurses thought I was in labor.  Had me hooked up to the IV and all that jazz.

Jordan took all of those but the ones he was in.  Not too bad.

I cannot wait to have this child, if nothing less than to find out how big he’s going to be so I can hit the sales and get the child some more clothes.  I didn’t go overboard on newborn and 0-3 month clothes because everyone from Drs to nurses to the ultrasound techs keep saying how big he is going to be.  Child is going to be naked.  LOL  Maybe not, he does have probably 10 newborn outfits and 20 0-3 month outfits, but you know how it is, you just want to buy the cutest stuff out there that you see.  I haven’t even opened the box of diapers yet to put away because I got newborn diapers, well, what if he’s too big for them and we go straight to 1?  I guess we’ll just see how big he is when he comes out.

I had to take Alyce to the Dr again yesterday afternoon.  she was complaining about her ear again.  She just took her last dose of antibiotics yesterday for the last ear infection.  Plus, she was running a fever.  I couldn’t find the thermometer, but 45 minutes after Motrin when they took her temperature at the office, she was at 102.4.  I knew she was burning up when I gave her the Motrin.  No ear infection though, in fact he said her ear looks beautiful.  Just a virus.  She’s really hot again this morning.  She just woke up screaming and I took in some Tylenol and apple juice (hoping the cold will cool down her insides a little.) and Pato is putting her back to sleep.  I’m ready for the cold weather to be over so she stops with getting sick all the time.

I guess it’s a good thing he hasn’t come yet (in the 24 time period).  I can’t have a sick 2 year old down at labor and delivery around the newborn babies.

Any big plans for Valentine’s Day?  None here.  Pato has to work.  I’ve got little buckets of the usual stuff I get for the kids for Valentine’s Day.  That will be the extent of what we do.  Jordan had his party at school yesterday.  His Valentines I made were a big hit with his teachers he said.

Kat’s school is going to have a "friendship" party next week.  If you remember my post about why they can’t have a Valentine’s Day party – at least they are having something.  Her teacher said I can put her valentines in their cubbies on the day of the party.

I think that’s it from me.  I’m starting to get tired again.  Jordan doesn’t have school today, and I called Kat in because when I rolled over and felt her this morning she was feeling warm too – not as hot as Alyce, but enough that I’d rather be safe than sorry.  I think I may go back to bed and wait for the snow storm that’s on it’s way here.
