I hate getting checked

Posted by Heather Manning On February - 7 - 2009

Can I share TMI here?  I have a tilted cervix.  And if they don’t find a nurse with long fingers, it is EXTREMELY painful to get checked to see how far I am dilated/effaced.  When I was in the hospital, the nurses said I had a cranky uterus.  Well, ya think?  After how often you’ve checked me?  I just dread it.

I think they go to some kind of medical assistant training school to learn how to put that knuckle in the most painful position possible while checking you.  Ok, maybe I was just cranky because I was having hard contractions.  LOL  Really, the labor and delivery nurses are wonderful at the hospital I go to.  I do appreciate each and every one of them that tried to help me get into active labor.  Even with all of the checking.
