Some pretties

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 26 - 2009

I got my ADSR challenge #7 this morning.  You had to use every piece that came with this mini kit from Sunshine Studio Scraps.  It was such a clean little mini, then they said you could add stuff, and you end up with my normal messy layout.  I feel like I should apologize to the Sunshine Girls for making their kit look messy.

That is literally how my daughter is outside the house.  In the house she is hyper and loud just like the other 2.  Take her out and she sits like that, or hangs on my leg.  There she is hanging on grandma, even though we are at a party with mostly our relatives.  She is PAINFULLY shy.  I still don’t know what I’m going to do with her when I go into labor.  Kat’s going to a friend’s house.  Jordan wants to be there again.  My mom will be there.  And Alyce is too shy to go to anyone else.  If she’s too shy for my family, who she has known her whole life, I don’t know what else to do.

Here is Katiana’s valentine, that I thought was going to be for school, until I found out today they can’t even do Valentine’s Day cards at school because there is one Jehovah’s Witness in the class.  I was ok with that, until the aid told me today when I asked about the cards that when one little boy in class said something about Santa Claus that the little girl told the whole class if they celebrated Christmas they were going to Hell.  EXCUSE ME?  Some parents need to teach their kids to be a little more, um……never mind, less judgmental.  No need to tell my 4 year old that she’s going to Hell, thank you.  They can’t even celebrate their birthdays in class, which I think is absolutely ridiculous.  Even the public school doesn’t take it that far.  I’m ok with winter parties, I’m ok with spring break.  Don’t take away my kids right to say happy birthday in class.

I’m going to take her cards that morning and give them to the parents as they are leaving.  Then Kat won’t have anything to do with it.  Don’t make the pregnant woman mad, please.  I’m cranky enough as it is.

And my son, who can actually take his Valentine to school, and pass them out with the rest of the class at the party, here is his –

And because we couldn’t leave Alyce out.  Here is her’s that we will give to family -

Most of these were made using my new kit Candy Love.  But the alphas that I used are from different designers.

That’s it from me.  I’m feeling like nesting.  Gonna go get some cleaning supplies.  LOL  Make everyone clean.

Last OB appointment, a page, and a new kit, woohoo!

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 23 - 2009

Let’s start out with the layout because that will tell you what my last OB appointment was like.

This was for my ADSR challenge #5. I’ve got to get 6 done today.

Fixed the word instructions, let’s hope I didn’t spell anything else wrong.  LOL

Credits are here.

Yep, that’s right. Christiano is breech. Flip baby, flip. I don’t think I would be so worried, if the DR hadn’t made a big deal about how big he is. He was 6 lbs 13 oz according to the ultrasound. 3 oz away from 7 pounds. I was 35 weeks 5 days and he is measuring 37 weeks 2 days. She said he’s going to be huge. And if he isn’t flipped by next week, they will schedule a c-section at 39 weeks. Now, see on the layout where it says mama is terrified of surgery? That’s not a lie. The thought of it puts me into a panic attack. So, some prayers for flipping baby. I tried the laying upside down on a tilted ironing board while Pato complained that if I broke his ironing board that I would have to buy him a new one. I was not amused. I don’t think he flipped, but when I stood back up, little baby got really active. Maybe he thought it was fun? Today he is using my bladder as a trampoline. Fun fun!

I actually got a kit done! Can I get a woo woo? I wanted to make my kids their valentines, but had to make a kit to do it. So, here it is -

Check out Candy Love at digiscrapping.net or ndisb.com on sale for 40% off until January 28.

Kat was helping me with taking pictures of things for the kit. No material handling with care over here. Child ate half the hearts and chocolate before I got to take pictures. LOL Ok, I’ll admit it, I ate some hearts too.

This morning I released a freebie to go with it.

Grab it here.

Now to get the valentines done. One thing at a time.

Have a wonderful day!

Every other post -

is about me wanting to lose this weight.  Do you know what my OB told me?  That a version (manually flipping the baby) only works about 50% of the time, and when there is a little more mommy there, the percentage goes down.  I think she is telling me I’m chubby.  ROFL  In my defense, I’m only at 16 lbs gained in 36 weeks.  Don’t they say 15-20 lbs is good to gain when your overweight?  So, I’m within my area.  Just hand over the diet pills please.  ROFL  Ok, I’ll have to find a healthy way to do it after I give birth, because I’ll be nursing.  I don’t think Christiano will need that stimulation in his diet.

Have you ever noticed when you look like you’re ready to pop, men avoid your eyes?  I was out with my mom yesterday and I noticed that, they’d look at me, then look down or away.  Same thing when I went to the grocery store to get Jordan’s prescription last night.

Are they scared the big ol’ pregnant woman will go into labor right then and there?  LOL  Don’t worry, my water has never broken in the grocery store yet, dude.

Forgot to post these

I forgot to post my ADSR #3 and 4.  Bad me!

#3 we had to lift our first layout uploaded to a gallery.  My first layout is here.

Here is the lifted version –

Credits are here.  Most of it was done with one of my talented CT member’s kits.  Armina opened up shop a while ago and she does beautiful work!  You can find her store here.

Then the next one, #4, was to scrap something artsy and do journaling from the soul.  Here is my layout –

Credits for that one are here.may

The next one is to scrap a layout with no pictures, but 3 picture frames.  I’ve got some ideas swirling.  I might try to work on that in the morning.

You know, if I wasn’t pregnant, I might join a wine of the month club, man.  It’s been a long week and half here.  First, I hurt my neck somehow and was given tylenol with codeine.  I couldn’t move my arm, my neck, had shots of pain going down my hip.  That was fun.

Then Jordan had some issues and I ended up in the ER with him a week ago last Thursday.  This is way too much info, but he was spraying blood when he went to the bathroom.  The ER couldn’t find anything, didn’t know what to tell me.  Took him to his DR the next day and he had a good sized fissure.  Not cool that they missed it.

Then last Thursday, *sigh* another trip to the ER.  Alyce started running a fever on Wednesday night.  Thursday the kids were out for the cold, I mean, it was cold.  -17 without the windchill factor.  She was still running a fever, but no other symptoms so I was watching her.  That night she started screaming that her ear hurt.  I tried to hold her off til the DR opened up on Friday, but by 1:00 AM she was so out of control, I bundled her up and off we went.  Strep throat, ear infection, and conjunctivitis, all at the same time.  My poor baby.  You’d think she would have told me her throat hurt.  Even when she can’t say the word, she’ll tell me hurts here and point to it.  Nothing.  After Friday, Saturday, and today on antibiotics, she’s finally acting like her normal self again.

So, now let’s knock on wood that we’re done with people being sick around here.  I’m 4 weeks away from my due date and I don’t want to catch anything, thank you very much.  LOL

Now, I have finally told Katiana that she is no longer sleeping in my bed.  She literally kicked me out of bed last night because she was sleeping sideways.  *sigh*  She is throwing a HUGE tantrum right now in her room.  No one loves her, no one cares about her, mom, it’s not my fault, I was squished last night.  Whatever dude, that’s why you’re sleeping in your own bed.  There is no room in my bed.  Good night child.

Alrighty, that’s our updates.  I’m going to sign off and find a whip to crack on my 2 oldest who keep finding reasons to get out of bed though they have to be up at 6:30 for school tomorrow.  Long night I tell you.

What’s up with celebrity spokespeople?

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 19 - 2009

Every time I turn around there’s a new spokesperson for weight loss products.  The latest one I saw was Winona Judd and Alli.  What exactly does Alli do?  Does anyone know?  I’ve heard good and mixed reviews about it.  I see it at our grocery store pharmacy all the time.  Is it a pill?  Is it a program?  How does it work.  Pregnant inquiring minds who need to lose weight want to know.

Speaking of pharmacies, did you know that some charge $2.99 to flavor medicine for kids?  I found that out when Alyce was spitting her augmentin and Tylenol w/codeine out all over me.  They asked what I wanted it flavored, I said, like amoxicillan?  They laughed and said, bubble gum?  I said, ok.  Didn’t help.  She still spit it all over me.  She wouldn’t even take tylenol which she normally will take happily.

Guess whose car is broke down again?

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 18 - 2009

Not mine, though with our luck, it’ll be next.  Pato’s.  Seriously.  I think selling his red honda when he went to Mexico was the worst mistake he’s made.  He was driving home from work on Wednesday night, in the bone chilling cold, when his temperature light went on and the car shut down.  He called me and I said, if you think I’m taking Alyce out with a fever, and the other 2 out period at 11 at night in this cold, you’re crazy.  He called his friend, who brought him some antifreeze.  The car started, drove for a mile, did the same thing.  I think he’s got a blown hose or something somewhere.  It’s now at the mechanic.  He didn’t get it there until Saturday, with Alyce’s temp on Thursday I wouldn’t take her out to follow him.  He took it Friday on break somehow.  Now we’re just waiting for the problem.  And the cost.  Which is the problem.  LOL  As long as they don’t prescribe some performance parts for his beater, we’ll be fine I think.

3 in a row?

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 7 - 2009

Holy cow.  I may be getting my mojo back.  LOL  I got another page done this morning.  Who knows, you may see a kit out of me before this baby gets here if I keep going.  LOL

I finally scrapped Alyce’s birthday.

Isn’t she the cutest?

Credits are here.  A lot of this came from Micheline Martin and Blythe Evan’s collab called Miss Priss.  I know, they are so proud of me for finally getting the mojo up to scrap.  LOL

Not much is going on here other than getting back into the school routine.  Kat has Wednesdays off, so she’s home today.  Jordan has an early dismissal.  He’ll be home at 2 or so.  I’m thinking a nap is in order for all of us later.  Yeah, like Jordan will take a nap.  He might though, the poor kid is going throgh a growth spurt and is having trouble getting from point A to point B.  His legs are hurting to the point he has trouble getting out of his loft bed in the mornings.  It surprises me because he’s never had pain like this when going through a growth spurt.  Maybe he’s really going to add some height on?  He’d be happy. He’s the oldest in his class, but not even close to the tallest.  (He’s a year older than everyone because I put him in PreK instead of Kindergarten when he was 5.)

And I got the reminder that soccer is starting.  That email that comes a couple of months before every season starts.  I got them both registered, and I’m dreading it.  I thought about taking this season off because I’m due Feb 20 and the season starts April 4.  With Pato’s schedule, I’m the oinly one to run them around.  On the way to school though the day before yesterday, Jordan started talking about soccer and how much he loves it and how it’s the only thing he thinks he’s good at, how could I not sign him up when it’s one thing that gives him confidence?

Christian better just hope it’s a warm spring or the poor thing will be freezing.  LOL  No, I’ll just sit in the car, which will thrill all of my children if they can’t get out and play while the other one is practicing.  Maybe grandma can come help me a few times?

Alright, that’s it from me today.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy New Year layout

Posted by Heather Manning On January - 6 - 2009

I finally scrapped a new year’s picture.  I say finally and laugh because I still haven’t scrapped Alyce’s birthday or Christmas.  I’ll get caught up a few months after  I have the baby.

I used the picture I posted the other day.

That took me forever and I’m still not sure that I’m in love with it, but I finally said that’s it, I’m done.

I used a hodge podge of stuff like I normally do.  Here are the credits.

I swear that’s the best picture I took all night.  I think that might be the reason I’m not thrilled.  It’s  pnot the kids, it’s that the picture needed a lot of editing, it was grainy (no light) and Kat’s night gown had slipped down, fixed that.  I’m not thrilled with Jordan’s "pajamas" either, but they were happy and having fun and that’s more important than the quality of any picture.  :o )

I played the praise game this morning because I had scrapped one page and I had insomnia at 4 in the morning and again, all the layouts there just amazed me.

I’ve got to show you this one layout I came across by one of my CT members Diana.  It’s not for my CT stuff obviously because I have put nothing out, I am so sorry for that BTW.  I opened it up and it just took my breath away.

Check out her layout here.  Is that not stunning!  Literally took my breath away.  Even though it’s not for my stuff, can I say my ladies that work with me are so darn talented!  I want to be them when I grow up as a scrapper.  LOL

Have a great day!
