Too long again

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 12 - 2008

I don’t know what is wrong with me and blogging.  Well, ok I do.  LOL  I’m getting ready to go into a new store, plus doing my ChaCha stuff to bring in some Christmas $$.  See the end of this post if you want to know what I’m talking about with ChaCha.

No designing for a bit until I get a new pen.  Alyce bit the grip off my graphire pen and lost the buttons, then last night she finally lost the white tip.  I swear I put it up, she just knows how to climb.  Higher and higher each day.   There is a new tablet on the way, I just don’t know when it will get here.  I’ll share why on that too as soon as I know when I can.  LOL  But, I can say thank you to all of you because you had something to do with it!  I think I need to set up a few security systems around my computer to keep my children off.  Ask Blythe.  LOL  Katiana LOVES to send her sounds on yahoo IM.  Well, Blythe, Hollie, Wendy.  She loves to annoy them.

Lack of pen of course, let’s me concentrate on getting previews redone for this new store, which is awesome, and I’ll announce as soon as I get some stuff added, which I’m hoping to do today.  That is if the forces of good decide to descend upon my house and help me with well-behaved children, something I haven’t seen in awhile.  *sigh*

I think I forgot to update on my OB appointment last week.  I went, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible.  I gained 4 pounds, so that has me up 7 pounds this whole time and I’m almost 26 weeks.  The problem is that my protein shot up and my blood pressure is on the rise.  She told me that if it goes up again next visit, I’ll be doing 24 hour urine tests and on bed rest to keep preeclampsia at bay again.  If I go on bedrest at 28 weeks, I’ve made it 8 more weeks than I did with Alyce, so that’s a positive way of looking at it.

Jordan’s dad was FINALLY released from the hospital  3 days ago.  He is going to have to have another surgery here in a month or so, to repair another rupture of something else – I don’t know – something between the staples ruptured, but it’s not life threatening like when his spleen ruptured.  And on the spleen front.  They found out that when he had the endoscopy done, that actually was what ruptured his spleen.  Lovely.  He’s on blood thinners because after all of this, he had blood clots in his arm.  But, I’m just happy that he pulled through.  He may be my ex-husband, but he’s still the father of my son, and I don’t want to see anything happen to him.

And a prayer please for my grandpa’s brother.  My Uncle Marvin is such a wonderful man.  I can remember so many good times that were had with him and my grandpa when my grandpa was still alive.  Uncle Marvin is 89 years old.  Two days ago, he fell and broke his hip.  He has fluid in his lungs and they can’t operate yet.  His wife says that he just wants God to take him home.  He’s been through a lot and is the only remaining sibling left of my grandpa’s family.  I just want him to be happy and not in pain.  He’s a beautiful man and reminds me so much of my grandpa.

I have to give a big thank you to Christina Renee and Andrea C.  I won a coupon to her shop over digiscrapping day!  I grabbed her shooting stars, story board set, and mini frames.  So pretty!  Thank you!!!!

On that note, I have to get Jordan out of the shower, he is dragging this morning and this bus will be here shortly.  Have a wonderful day!

A New Day In History

Posted by Heather Manning On November - 5 - 2008

We have made history.  Congratulations to Barack Obama, our next president of the United States.

Though not who I voted for, if you know me, you know I was a McCain supporter from before our caucuses here in Iowa.  I truly hope that all of my friends who voted for him are right.  I truly hope that he can lead us in a direction that we need to go and bring us together as a country.  I hope that he and our congressmen/women are able to remember that there are conservatives who want their voices heard also.  I pray for him to have the wisdom to do what we need to have done in this country and to turn this country back onto the right track.  I honestly think he is a good man, that we just have different ideals that we stand for.

And no matter what you feel, this is a huge day for the United States of America.  I hope that this helps heal some of the racial divide, that African-Americans, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, everyone can come together finally as one group of people, as Americans.

Now I think I shall go shed a few tears that are threatening to fall for a man that I feel is a great American, a true hero, and someone I feel would have been an excellent leader for our country.

I’m not the most eloquent speaker, but I think you would have been a wonderful president.  I think you would have reached across party lines and tried to bring us together.  I thank you for everything you have put on the line in service of your country, starting back from the very beginning.  Your an example of the kind of service we should be giving to our country.

And now my friends, country first.  Let’s come together as the force we know we can be.  The force that we came together to be after 9/11.  Let’s become one again in our fight for what is best for this country.  And let us not forget, these people work for us.  Let’s get involved and make our voices heard.  We’ve been too lackadaisical as a country, letting our leaders do as they will.  It’s time to say enough!  This is what we want done.  Now you, you go do it.

Have a beautiful day.
