Ebaying Halloween

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 14 - 2008

LOL  I sat here and said, oh crap.  It’s almost Halloween and I don’t have my kids’ costumes picked out yet.  We decided to see if they were less expensive on Ebay this year.  (I spent close to $80 on 3 costumes last year.)

I bid and won on this for Jordan  –

It’s a ninja costume.  He was looking for somebody from Star Wars or some video game character, but I saw this and said, come look!  I was excited – $14.99 + Free shipping.  I’m all about it.  He thought it was SWEET!  As opposed to Bogus, his other favorite word lately.  I’m like totally living back in the 80′s with my son.  Like, I can’t believe it.  LOL

For Katiana, I was shocked.  I’m scrolling through her size of costumes.  She sees this Snow White one.  $6.95 + Free shipping – buy it now.  HUH???  I look at their feed back.  It’s good.  Are you kidding me?  We bought it.

Comes with the ribbon and the dress.  Not the wig.  I’m not even bothering with a wig.  She won’t leave it alone, I guarantee you.

So now we’re looking for little Alyce.  And though I love the little fairy lady bug costume I got her last year.  It wasn’t very practical for Iowa in late October.  (Neither is Snow White mind you.  Snow white will have leggings and a turtle neck on under her costume at the very least.)

We’ve got 6 hours left on this unicorn costume – bid started at $.99.  Shipping is $4.80.  Here’s hoping.  LOL

Nice and warm.  She can wear her coat under it.  We’re good to go if I win it.  Otherwise, we’ll just keep looking.  I’m just happy I have the other 2 taken care of.  LOL

I think I went to bed too early last night.  8:30?  too early?  I went with the kids.  And here it was 5 a.m. when I get up.  But I get to blog!  LOL

I need to get stuff ready for DigiScrapping Day here soon.  It’s November 1 for those who don’t know.  And you know the digiworld will have TONS o’ sales.  My store included.  I’d like to get a grab bag done in time.  We’ll see how the kids cooperate!

Have a wonderful day!

Getting Some Pictures Off My Camera

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 12 - 2008

These go back a while.  Oops.  I’ve been so busy haven’t had time to download them.  Darn kids anyway.  :o )

Alyce swinging at soccer practice a week and a half ago.

My niece Taylor had soccer practice at the same time.  Alyce got some playtime with her favorite cousin Carter who Uncle Josh FINALLY got out of the truck after I called and told him to stop balancing his checkbook and let the kids play together.  ROFL  What sounds like more fun to you?  Balancing your check book or chasing after your 19 month old?  LOL

Mr Carter swinging

Jordan’s game a week ago Saturday.

Alyce hanging out at Kat’s soccer game yesterday.  Yes, that is how she prefers to use a binky.  Upside down.

Katiana, cheering herself on.  Like the lace?  I put lace in Alyce’s pony tails yesterday cuz I thought it looked cute with her little outfit.  Well, when one has one thing, yes, the other has to have it too, though it kind of um, well, just doesn’t match the soccer uniform.  Oh well, she looks cute.  LOL

Isn’t she just a cute little soccer player?

One minute a happy baby.

The next rolling around on the sidelines throwing a fit.  (Ok, she only threw a fit when I touched her – trying to move her off the actual sideline.)

Ignoring me telling her to get off the sidelines.

The reason for the fit and rolling around on the sidelines.  Tired baby.

That’s the only ones I have edited so far.

Thank you to everyone for your congrats!  We’re really excited.  (Especially Jordan and Pato, I was happy either way.)  Now, I need to go through my girls clothes that don’t fit the girls and pack them up.  I’ve got a whole new wardrobe to get for the little guy.  Well, I need to get a lot of 3-6 months and a few 0-3 months.  If this child takes after my last 2, he won’t be in 0-3 months for very long.  (both of my girls were 8 1/2 pounds – Alyce was 3 weeks early and that heavy.)

Now off to work on some digital signage aka need to get some ads done and a Tutorial for Bella Scraps Magazine for this month!  Off to work!  Have a great day!

It’s A -

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 6 - 2008

Well, let me just show you.  This one had not a shy bone in it –

gender-sm

Yep, Pato is one happy daddy.  LOL  I took a picture of this at the OB and said look at your son’s wee wee.  ROFL

He thought I was kidding.  No, really honey, that’s what it is.  LOL

Legs-sm

Here he is crossing his little legs.

feet-sm

and a view of his feet when they are crossed.  I think that’s a toe from his other foot in there.  She didn’t say he had 6 toes.  LOL

profile-sm

And a view of his little face.

So, that’s my news for today!  I had my OB appointment today.  My blood pressure was perfect, which is awesome news.  At my 20 weeks appointment with Alyce I started bedrest for a LONG 17 weeks.  No signs of preeclampsia yet!  YAY!

And I gained 3 pounds this month.  I said, oh man, I gained 3 pounds.  She said you gained 3 pounds the whole first 1/2 of your pregnancy.  You have to gain something.  No really, I don’t want to.  LOL

Have a great day!

Cute cute site for little girl’s

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 2 - 2008

I followed this post at DST to the cutest blog for little girls!   It’s called the story of a princess and her hair.   My girls don’t have a lot of hair.  Alyce being because her’s hasn’t filled out yet.  Kat because her’s is still growing out from getting it cut.  At least we can get it in ponies now.  And I did get to braids in the back today.  Woohoo!   I am searching through these pictures to find something that I can do with Katiana’s hair.   I wish my daughter’s had that much hair so I could do some of those braided styles.  So pretty!  Her daughter has a GORGEOUS head of hair.

And speaking of DST.  Guess what I won?   Kinda by default, but I’ll take it none the less!  Check out this post.  yep, I won a diamond membership to DST.  I was so stoked!!!!  I just can’t justify to myself spending the $$ right now, but I’ve always wanted one when Shannon offers it.  Usually the monthly kits are so pretty.  I’m not just a designer, ladies, I’m a scrapper too.  ROFL   And I do love me some pretties!

You know, other than a migraine that knocked me on my butt yesterday, nothing exciting happened.  Though, with the way my head hurt, I wanted to make something really light for supper.  And I was shocked that the kids gobbled up what I made.  I cut up some steak, threw in fresh mushrooms, santa sweet tomatoes, and olive oil.  Cooked that.  Boiled linguine.  Drained, added some oil olive to that.  Threw in the steak stuff.  Mixed it up.  Added some parmesan cheese.    Jordan said it was the best food I’ve ever made.  LOL   Dude, thanks.  And it didn’t make me throw up.  It was the kind of migraine that makes you want to puke when you move, the lights are on, that sort of thing.  The kind of migraine that when I took a tylenol with codeine (leftover from my ankle) it didn’t knock me out.  (Pain pills normally do)  Just made it ease off a little bit.  Made it tolerable so I could sit at the stove and make supper.  Laying my head on the oven door handle as I stirred stuff.  I haven’t had one that hurt that bad in a long time.  Took another codeine so I could sleep.  (The kind of migraine that hurts worse when you lay down)  Woke up off and on from it all night, but it was gone thank God when I got up.  Took a shower, gave the girls showers, felt much more human.

Noticed my living room was trashed when I got up this morning.  I must have really not cared last night.  There’s hangers all over.  Blankets, clothes.  Jordan and Kat must have had a lot of fun.  Alyce was with me the whole time (pointing at my forehead and giving me kisses on it, because mommy’s head hurt).  And I know I never went to sleep when they were up.  I just really didn’t care as long as what they were doing wasn’t going to cause anyone to bleed.  We’ve got some work to do today putting it all back together.  Mommy feels back to normal.  LOL

Ok, I’ve got to get to work on the papers for my kit.  That’s the last part and then it’ll be released, and I’ve had some requests for some new PSP scripts.  I think I can do that for you all.  LOL

Have a great day!

I think I came this close -

Posted by Heather Manning On October - 1 - 2008

to ruining an awesome thing last night.

Let me start this out with, yes the potty chair is in the living room.  We’ve let her use it as a chair to get used to it.  It’s worked for all the other kids starting out that way.  She’s never used it the way it’s supposed to be used, if you know what I mean.  In fact, she’s been using it to store her pacifiers.  ROFL  I found that and was like, ok, you are so lucky you haven’t used that yet.

So, last night, I go to call Pato and look over at her.  She’s sitting on her potty.  Which is not unusual, until  I notice she has her diaper off.  I went over to see what she was doing – if anything, and noticed she had taken the little blue bowl out of the potty.  I thought, oh no.  That meant all that was between her and the floor was this little ledge that has the sensors that triggers music when she potties in the bowl.  I said, what are you doing?  She grinned.

She got up.  I looked in the bowl and all over the sensors and that ledge, some how missing the holes – THANK GOD – was poop.  I grabbed the chair really quick because I was afraid it would like move and the poop would get on my living room floor, took it to the bathroom, dumped it in the toilet, stuck the whole thing in my shower under hot scalding water.  Then went back out where Alyce was standing there looking crushed.  My heart broke.  In my hurry to keep poop off of my floor, I forgot to make a big deal out of the fact that my 22 month old just used the potty for the first time, PERIOD.  I started making a big deal out of it, good girl!  You went poop in the potty!  Now, let’s go wipe that toosh.  The bigger deal I made out of it, the happier she looked.  Til she was running around squeeling, giggling, all proud of herself.

I almost ruined it man.  Here my daughter does it all on her own.  I haven’t started pushing potty training other than having her sit on it, with her diaper on.  And I almost forget to make a huge deal out of it, and ruin that huge first step she made.   I think we are ok though.  We called everyone (grandma, daddy, etc) and they are told her how good she was.  LOL  I really was very excited once I got over the fact that she took the bowl out to go.  ROFL

What else happened yesterday?

Katiana was upset after preschool because her friend fell down and didn’t want to be Kat’s friend anymore.  Um, did you do something?  No.   Did you trip her?  No.  Did you push her?  Accidentally!  Well that would be why.  ROFL  She did apologize though.  And I’m sure she will want to be your friend when you go back to school on Thursday.  Unless it wasn’t quite the accident your claiming it was.  No, I didn’t say that out loud to my 4 year old.  LOL

Then I went back to the walk in last night when I found out one of my favorite doctor’s that I trust was on.  I can’t stand the normal walk in doctor.  I’m still having problems with my ankle and my foot from the cellulitis.  I’ve been done with my antibiotics for awhile now.  I really only went because I started cramping and throwing up all day and I wanted to make sure the 2 weren’t related while I am pregnant.

She didn’t like the way my ankle looked still.  So she doubled my dose of antibiotics.  I was on 500 MGs of Cephalexin and now I’m on 1000 MGs 2 X a day.  And she wants to recheck it on Friday.  The throwing up and cramping are from the new stomach flu that’s going around.  Tell me how I would get the flu – when I don’t go anywhere.  Yet my kids who would bring it home to me are nice and healthy?  Not that I want them sick.

Here’s another question.  Why does cephalexin smell like rotten eggs when you open the bottle?  The pills do.  Grossest smelling medicine.  I hate taking it just for that reason.

She also wants me to be sure to point this out to my OB when I go in on Monday.  (she actually was my OB for my first 2 kids, which is why I trust her.  Then she went back to normal family practice and stopped delivering babies – just because – she didn’t get in trouble or anything.)

While we were there she also got out the doppler to listen to the baby’s heart beat.  Just to make sure with the cramping and pressure I was having.  Another active baby?  LOL  She’d get the heart beat, the baby would move.  She’d get the heart beat, the baby would move.  Well, at least we know it’s in there and it’s heart beats.  :o )

Both of the girls are up, so I need to get breakfast going for them.  Have a wonderful day!
