She’s here!

Posted by Heather Manning On September - 25 - 2008

Mikayla Corey was born at 12:52 p.m. today.  She is 6 lbs 5 oz and 19 1/4 inches long.

After Abby had her they whisked the baby away for a little bit to make sure she hadn’t breathed in or swallowed any merconium (SP?).  I’m not sure if they know yet if she did or not, but she is with my sister now.

Mom said she doesn’t have a lot of hair, which really isn’t that unusual in our family, but that she sure is pretty.  :o )

Hopefully I can go down later and see her.

Update on Abby

Posted by Heather Manning On September - 25 - 2008

Well, she’s dilated to 4.  The doctor went in and broke her water.  Mom said she is much more comfortable right now.

I’m such a pregnant hormone mess.   I was crying on the way to take the kids to school because I couldn’t be there with my sister right now.  You know, me and my brood of kids.  Too much to handle at the hospital.  :(

My mom told me to calm down when I’m driving and get my kidlets to school safely.  Jordan offered to miss soccer practice because he didn’t want to see me crying.  He said, “Mom, I don’t mind if I miss soccer tonight so you can go see the baby.”  Isn’t he sweet when he wants to be?

Last night there was a sign on the front of the apartment building door saying there was an inspection today.  They are inspecting the smoke alarms and door seals before the fire inspector comes to visit on October 6 and 7th.  Lovely.  I think I need some Swiss Army luggage to hide the dirty clothes in.  ROFL  I need to run down and put some money on the laundry card and haul all of this down to the laundry room.  Instead of 1 or 2 loads at a time with my prince and princesses who like to change their clothes multiple times a day.  I try to catch them before they throw something in the laundry after wearing it for 10 minutes, but it doesn’t always happen.  Oh well, at least everything else is mostly picked up.  I don’t think the maintenance guys really care anyway, but I do.  LOL

Last night as bribery to help me get things done (IE – their rooms) I rented Hannah Montana – the Best of Both Worlds for Katiana and The Seeker for Jordan.  Think they got done?  No.  So, no one is watching the movies until their rooms are clean.  They have to be back tonight by 9 so I’m hoping Kat will get hers done right when I pick her up from preschool, then we can get her’s watched.  And if we don’t go down to the hospital, if Jordan gets his finished we can watch his before soccer.

I got them out of the Red Box.  It was only $1.00 each.  And if we keep them another night (because we go to the hospital) it’s only another $1.00/each.

I should have used a different word then bribery.   I’m a full believer in it’s only a bribe if you are asking them to do something wrong.  I like to think of it as a not often used version of positive reinforcement.  LOL

Ok, I’m gonna get to work while Alyce is being good.  When Abby has her baby I’ll update again.

Don’t forget to check out the specials today!  3 personal use and 3 commercial use products for $1.00!
