Other Ways To Lose Weight

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 6 - 2008

I’m looking at other ways to help lose weight along with the standard ways. Not besides the normal ways, alongside. A way to kick it into high gear. Have any of you tried the colon cleansers out there? My chiropractor actually recommended it also, so I know it’s good for you. I just don’t know which one to try. And are the more expensive ones really that much better than the cheaper ones? Is it one of those you get what you pay for type of deals?

This is what they say they help with:

Constipation
Fatigue
Weight Gain

Parasite Infection
IBS
Diverticulosis

Diverticulitis
Flatulence
Bloating

• Diarrhea
• Eczema
• Indigestion

Candida
• Acne
• Lower Back Ache

• Bad Breath
• Age Spots
• Poor Digestion

• Dull Skin Tone
Infertility

* http://www.puristat.com/

The only problems I really have listed there are weight gain and fatique. But I have a feeling the fatigue has to do with the fact that I’m back on my schedule of designing after I put the kids to bed until 2 in the morning, then getting up and starting again at 7 until they wake up again.

I might give this a try. If my chiropractor recommended it, it can’t hurt.

YAY Me!

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 5 - 2008

I took the girls to their check ups yesterday and I got AWESOME news while I was there. I’ll do their check ups first though. Let’s see, where’s my paper work. LOL

Katiana is 4 and is weighs 36.8 lbs and is 41 inches tall. She finally put on a few pounds to go with her height that she keeps adding. He said she looks great, we’re good to go.

Alyce is 18 months and weighs 23.4 lbs and is 31 1/2 inches tall. She finally put on some weight too. YAY! LOL My skinny girls. Poor thing had to get her hepatitis A shot. Wasn’t happy about that. Before Dr K came in we were reading the What To Expect sheet they give you for each age group and it said Alyce should have 15 – 20 words at this point. (Last time it was 3 – 5 and she had 2. ROFL) So, mom and I sat down and figured out the words she knows and I think we came up with 18. Unless you are counting I don’t know as 3 words or 1. It’s the way she says it. ROFL Ion’tknoooow. Where’s your ball? Ion’tknoooow. So stinking cute! She picked up another word the other day. I got out of the shower and she is standing there looking at me, caught red handed taking off her diaper. What are you doing? Noshing. ROFL Yes, I meant to type SH. That’s how she said it. Noshing. Makes her brother and sister so proud. They were rolling.

Yes, she HAS to drink milk. Dr says. So, someone tell Alyce to stop spitting out milk when I give it to her. Other than that she is awesome!

Got Kat’s physical form and vaccination records to take over to her preschool for fall.

When they were weighing the girls, I got on the scale too. That’s my yay me! I told you guys that I started taking the Nuphedrine a couple of weeks ago. 14 pounds down in 2 weeks. And I’m still eating. I’m not starving myself. I just about fell off the scale. LOL I knew things were getting loose on me, but I didn’t realize it was that extreme. Then mom and I went to Taco Bell to celebrate. ROFLMAO Ok, it was just one day. Today, I’m back to no junk food and being good. Eating healthy. That’s got to be a lot of it. I stopped eating at McDonald’s. And there’s no chocolate in the house for me to graze on while I’m working. LOL I know I did a lot of stress eating while Pato was gone.

Jordan gained 2 pounds and is at 105. Which shocked me because his pants are actually fitting much better lately. I would have thought that he lost weight. But, he did get taller. He’s up to 4 foot 8 inches now. AGH, my son is only 8 inches shorter than me now. ROFL He keeps saying he’s almost taller than me. No, when you can look at me eye to eye, we’ll call you almost taller than me. Until then I keep my role of second tallest in the house. I have a feeling I won’t have it for long the way everyone is growing, so I’ll relish it right now while it lasts.

Do you guys remember when you outgrew your parents (if you did. LOL) I remember I was all excited being taller than my mom, which wasn’t hard. ROFLMAO Just kidding mom! My mom is 5 ’1″ I think I was probably a freshman or sophomore when I was realized I was taller than her. I think my sister might be a little taller than her too, but I’m the tallest girl in our family. (Not saying much at 5’4″ I know. LOL)

I was looking around for a father’s day present for Pato and came upon these Guess watches. Just happened to come across one I want. Look at this watch!

Yeah, good thing it’s out of stock cuz I can’t afford it right now anyway, but isn’t it gorgeous???

Maybe I should Kaboodle it. LOL

Don’t forget to stop by the news blog to check out the CT challenge this month! It’s an easy one! Scrap a dad! You could get a $10.00 GC from me ($20.00 if you use at least 50% of my products on your layout.)

Let’s go on vacation!

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 5 - 2008

I would love to take a vacation. We need one. Well, Pato just got back from one. Ok, it wasn’t really a vacation. Well, maybe he got a vacation from me and my honey do list. LOL

I’d love to go to Hilton Head Island in Georgia. I’ve heard so many awesome things about it. And it looks so beautiful! It’s on my to do list. Along with visiting Scotland, the Bahamas again, Rome, and getting deep into Mexico. I want to go to where it isn’t so civilized in Mexico. Where they still speak the Native Indian tongues. Mexico is just so full of so much diversity and have so much that is still untouched. But back to Hilton Head. I wonder how much it would cost for a family of 5?

What’s on your to visit list? Where would you love to go see?

Woohoo!

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 4 - 2008

So, my mom kidnapped me and took me out to the casino yesterday.  She had won last time she went and she gave me a little to play with.  Well, we were almost done, ready to leave, watching my sister play when I decided to take my last $10.00 over and put it in this penny machine.  Pennies I tell you.  I was playing a whole quarter at a time when I hit the jackpot – well, with only 1 bet per line it ended up only being $90.00.  (Big disappointment from what it would have been if I’d had max credits bet.  LOL)  I upped my credits a little and hit, hit, hit, hit max credits, and got up to $200.  Took that out while I was on the phone with Pato who said, take it out!  Leave the casino, Heather.  ROFL  Though my mom had just given me the money that she had sent me with, I gave it back to her.  So, I left $160 ahead of $0.  LOL  That rarely happens, kinda nice.  Then my sister calls while we are on the way home and she said, I put a $1.00 in the penny machine and won $100.  Guess the pennies were kinda hot yesterday.  ROFL

Mom and I got here and Pato had been cooking.  Lord he had a feast ready.  Corn on the cob, a couple of stuffed chicken breasts, shish ka bobs (steak, regular chicken, and tomato basil chicken) AND bratwursts.  LOL  I think he had fun shopping yesterday when I was gone.  LOL  Mom stayed and ate with us.  It was nice.  Alyce hadn’t taken a nap for Pato and she fell asleep for the first time in her high chair.  So cute.  He had to wake her up to take the food out of her mouth.  She took a bite of her bratwurst and fell asleep.  So sweet.

It was just a nice day.  We put the kids to bed, then he watched Scarface for the millionth time and I did some work.  Then we went to bed.

It still amazes me how chaotic life was when he was gone and how quickly it settled down and got back to normal once he got home.  It’s been over a week now and I don’t think it will ever get old.  I told you guys when he was gone that with as much as he worked, it seemed like he was never home, and that I never realized how much he actually did helping out with the kids.  It’s really nice to be back on a work schedule.  We’re doing the whole I get up first thing in the morning and get stuff done while he watches the kids before he goes to work, then he leaves and mommy duty starts when he gets home, he’s back on and I can get some more work done.  Ahhhh!  Schedules don’t you love them?

Jordan being out of school has been nice too.  I’ve slept til almost 9 the last 2 days in row.  Shock to my system.  LOL

I thought I would have to take Pato to work today because his car still isn’t running.  The girls have their check up at 1:30 and his break would be at one.  He wouldn’t be back here in time if he took my car and tried to come back to take us.  My mom said she’d take us though, so I didn’t have to worry about taking him to work at 10:00 and then going back at 10:00 tonight to pick him up.  Thank you mom!  You saved me some!  He’s got to get his car to the mechanic.  He’s not sure if the head gasket blew or if something else happened.  He just knows that when he was driving it it was fine, then all of a sudden something went pop and the car stopped running.  I think it’s the head gasket, but he’s not so sure.  If it’s the head gasket, he’s just going to have to get a different car.  He can’t keep taking my van.  I don’t think it’s bad during the summer, but once school starts up again, I need to have my car in case something ever happens with Jordan at school.

Ok, this just cracked me up.  ROFL  (Thanks Micheline!)  If Celebs moved to Oklahoma.  (no disrepect to Oklahoma intended LOL, this could very easily be transformed to Iowa.  ROFL)

Don’t forget to check out my Bundle of Scraps 2.  Full of beachy goodness!

Have a beautiful day!

Well, that didn’t happen

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 3 - 2008

I was sitting here all salivating over the cook out we were supposed to have last night when my cell phone rang.  For some reason his work called my phone, probably because he was sleeping and didn’t hear his.  You could set off a fire cracker right by Pato’s head when he’s sleeping and he wouldn’t move.  Anyways, they called him in to work.  So, no yummy cookout last night.  He now has today off instead of yesterday because he went in for someone else and he promised one today.  I’m not going to salivate until we actually go to the grocery store.  LOL

Yeah, you should see the masterpiece that I made last night.  I’m always trying to find away to spice up hamburgers.  Pizza burgers are always awesome.  But, they don’t cook so great on the grill.  They tend to fall apart.  I wanted to grill though, remember that I have just started grilling for the first time this last month.  LOL  I’m not a grilling expert.  Usually the men in our family operate the grill.  My dad, my brother, Pato.  Never really done it.

I was looking through the supplies that I had on hand.  Mmmm, taco burgers.  ROFL  Yeah.  That didn’t work well on the grill.  I put 2 pounds of hamburger, garbanzo beans, refried beans, olives, taco cheese, and a packet of taco seasoning into a big bowl.  Mushed it all together, then made the patties.  I thought I’d be smart this time and put foil on the grill because last time the pizza burgers, though good, fell apart into a million pieces.  After about 15 minutes on the grill, I realized this wasn’t going to work either.  ROFL  Jordan brought me a big glass baking pan, threw all the pieces in there, stuck it in the oven for 30 minutes along with some tortillas and we had taco meat loaf.  ROFL  Big hit with the kids, I wasn’t a fan.  Oh well, if you don’t experiment with new things, life is boring right?  ROFL

I think Pato ate the rest of it after work because I didn’t see it in the fridge this morning.  Maybe it’s just me?  No, I don’t think so.  ROFL

Jordan’s out of school now.  Woohoo!  Yesterday was his last day and he had a wonderful day.  He came home all happy and just glowing from all the fun things they did.  He was a frog in a play and he got a REAL chocolate kiss.  LOL  The things that make him happy still.  I love him!

My goodness you should have seen his book bag when he brought it home on Friday.  He had cleaned out his desk and his locker and holy smokes, I’m not sure how he carried it.  It must have weighed as much as he did.  I guess they be serious in 2nd grade.  1st grade he came home with his portfolio and crayons.  2nd grade he came home with 5 spiral notebooks, workbooks, journals, I mean, I knew he did all this stuff, I just didn’t know it was all coming home.  Now we have to figure out what we can save and what we should relegate to the recycling pile.  He wants it all.  But, we already have one kitchen cupboard and one deep desk drawer filled with Jordan’s work that I can’t bear to part with yet.  He worked so hard on it, how can I just throw it all away?

I admit it, I’m a pack rat.  LOL  There’s some juicy gossip.  Heather doesn’t want to throw away her childrens’ school work.  Heck, Pato tried to throw out my Digital Scrapbooking Magazines the other day that I had read and I was out of this chair like a shot in the dark saving my precious magazines.  LOL  Throw the rest of the mail away dude, don’t touch my scrap mags.

Have I told you Alyce’s new trick?  Jordan now has to have the baby gate up in front of his room at all times.  I was sitting here working the other night and all 3 kids were playing nicely in Jordan’s room.  All of a sudden Jordan yell’s mom!  Alyce is on top of my bed.  Yep, she can climb the ladder to his loft bed that is taller than I am.  I went in to get her and she was sitting up there smiling at me, so proud of her little self.  So, up the baby gate went and she proceeded to scream because she wanted back in with her siblings.  They did come out and play with her for a bit, then they went back in and I sat down and read with her.  Wonder how long it will be before she learns how to climb over the gate?

Tomorrow is Kat’s 4 year check and Alyce’s 18 month check up.  Can you believe Alyce is 1 1/2?  It seems like I just brought her home.  Pato and I were sitting and talking the other night, watching her sleep.  We both were just amazed at how long she is.  She just is starting to really look like a toddler versus a baby.  She’s getting her own little face versus looking so much like her sister.  I noticed that the other day with my nephew Carter too.  He was looking so much like his sister for awhile and now he’s starting to come into his own little person.  He still shares a resemblance to Taylor, but he really is becoming his own little self.

I have babbled on long enough this morning I guess.

I’ll leave you with my Bundle of Scraps 2.

Beachy!  LOL

Have a wonderful day!

Boring Weekend

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 2 - 2008

That it was.  Pato worked and took my van because his broke down on the way to work the last day before he left for Mexico.  It’s sitting in the garage waiting to go to the mechanic on his day off.  Which is today.  So, we had no wheels, which meant staying at home.

My mom came over on Saturday and just sat and chatted for awhile.  That was nice.  I’ve missed it.  Jordan and Kat both wanted to go home with grandma and have a sleep over, but we decided that a different day would be better.  If Jordan ever gets his room cleaned he’s supposed to go today and Katiana is supposed to clean half of her room to go Wednesday.  HA HA HA HA!  Kat, clean her room?  Mom, are you telling me to go in and do it?  LOL

Pato wants to cook out today.  We need to go to the grocery store.  We have chicken and hamburger in the freezer, but whatever it is he wants to make involves steak.  We must go get steak.  I’m hoping it involves tortillas as well.  Yummy!  Seriously, the man is the best cook I’ve met.  I love it when he cooks for us.  He’s so much better at it than I am.  That will put me on clean up duty.  Another thing he’s so much better at than I am.  ROFL  Just kidding!  I think.  LOL

I wish I had a picture of my sister to show you!  She’s 6 months along now and so darn cute in her maternity clothes.  I wish I looked that cute when I was pregnant, nope, I had to look like a cow.  LOL  She’s adorable!  I need to start figuring out her baby shower, where, when, etc.

Speaking of pregnant women, how do you like the new look around here?  I’ve been wanting to change things up for awhile, but just haven’t done it.  I actually had a whole new front page and header made about 2 months ago, then sat down and redid it again.  Then my wonderful creative team member Tiffany’s husband sat down last night and got it all put together for me.  Thank you so much John!

I spent the weekend finishing up my grab bag that will be going into the stores here shortly.  And then I scrapped.

I was so happy with how that came out!  That’s a picture of Jordan from when we went to the park the other day.

I used my Standing on the Beach Paper Pack that will be released  in the grab bag.  Shhhhhh!  LOL  and the doodles are from Evitangel.  I also used the rainbow and word art from a kit called Beautiful day by Jofia.  The grass is from PSP, it was a tube that came with the program.  Full Credits

My Creative Team has a new challenge for you!

Check it out!

I think that’s it from me!  I need to go get the grab bag preview made so I can get it in the store.

Have a wonderful day!

When we go to Ohio -

Posted by Heather Manning On June - 1 - 2008

Would it be insulting everyone to search through the cheap hotels, but one that is nice.  There are so many of us in our family now that it just seems like it would be nicer having our own space.  There are 5 of us now and Alyce is getting into everything.  Though, I do love staying with my friend Diane.  She’s such a neat person!  And we don’t get to see each other often enough.

I bring up Ohio because Pato is pressuring me to make a decision about moving there.  Which means we’ll probably have to go up and talk to his aunt and uncles (one about the house, one about the restaurant) soon to nail down facts.  It’s just so hard to think about leaving my family.  :o (  I don’t want to move.
