I have to start with a prayer request

Posted by Heather Manning On April - 30 - 2008

My mom called me last night and told me that we had someone we needed to lift up in prayer and when I heard about who it was I had to bring him to you all for thoughts and prayers.

My mom’s best friend has been with our family for as long as I can remember.  She’s just been a fixture in our life, once a week, every week, since I was a little girl.  She’s a beautiful woman.  She got married a few years ago, well, it feels like a few years ago, but in all actuality, it was a while ago.  They have now have a family of little boys, who aren’t so little anymore.  Last week when Linda was at mom’s house, her 12 year old son was at home with dad jumping on the trampoline.  He hurt his leg.  They took him to the doctor who said nothing was wrong, put a brace on it, sent him home.  Flash forward to yesterday.  His leg is still hurting, took him back to the doctor who sent him to an orthopedic surgeon.  They did an X-ray, and yes his bone is broken in his leg, and that’s what I thought my mom was going to tell me that they needed prayers for.  But she said, that’s not it, Heather.  She went on to tell me that they found a tumor in his leg.  I want to say they found it in the bone and that’s why the bone was so weak and broke.  :o (  Now they have to wait for that bone to heal before they can biopsy it.  My heart sank.  And it’s breaking for Linda, Benjamin, and their family.  Just when you think of it, send up a prayer or a thought for them.  I can’t even imagine what they are going through now knowing this is there, but not knowing exactly what it is because they can’t do anything until the bone heals.  :o

Now, how do you move eloquently from that to here’s the rest of the pictures of my family having fun this weekend.  I don’t think there is anyway to do it.  So, here are the pictures –

My brother in law – for those of you who follow us, this is a lucky shot, 2nd time I’ve gotten his face on camera.  LOL  Can you tell what he had taken his hand away from his face to do?   you can see that middle finger starting to come up.  I was too quick for him.  And Justin, it’s not nice to flip off your sister in law.  ROFL

My beautiful baby enjoying her first s’more.

My beautiful middle child eating her s’more joyfully.  She was in heaven.

Jordan showing us how he enjoys his marshmallows cooked.

My brother’s girlfriend Angie (Steve’s girlfriend – Jadah’s mom)

My sister in law, Shelley – Josh’s wife – Carter and Taylor’s mom.

My mom, my brother Josh (no he doesn’t chew, that’s just him making another face when I take a picture), and my daddy in the background.

Carter chasing Alyce again (you can read about how much she enjoyed it in yesterday’s post.  LOL)  That’s Jadah in the background.

Why won’t she play with me Aunt Heather?  ROFL  Don’t you just want to pick him up and give him a kiss?  I tried, Alyce freaked out.  No one else is allowed to touch her mommy.  She threw herself to the ground with a broken heart.  Didn’t stop til she was back in my arms.  Celosa!!  (Jealous)

Miss Jadah

I love this age where they still smile naturally for the camera, even if it’s just a little smile like this one.

That’s all the pictures from this weekend finally.

I told you that I will have a thank you present for you if you come to the chat on May 3rd with me at DST at 9:00 p.m. EST.  Well, I got it done finally!

Meet Li’l Tart.  Just a mini to say thank you for coming to spend some time with me!  :o )

And let me give you a little tease of Dawn and My collab!

This will be in my store, PPF, DC, TTT, NDSIB – um, am I leaving any out?  LOL  It’s gorgeous you guys!

On sale on Friday!

I think I’ll have a freebie also and I think all of my stuff will start on Friday.  I’ve got to get everything uploaded to my stores today so I can get them set to go.  :o )
